We had a wonderful two night stay at this charming studio. The pictures do not do it justice! The studio is spacious and well appointed. Great full bath with nice hot water as you have your own hot water tank. Microwave and mini fridge for snacks and micro-meals. The hosts are very friendly and helpful and will help you out with getting a fire started in the wood stove or giving you tips on the Mendocino area. We spent a lot of time reading, watching the fire, having tea, and sitting out on the deck to watch the stars. Super close to Mendocino Village (within 10 mins drive) but you feel worlds away, especially after the fun dirt road drive in. We will definitely be back!
For three glorious nights, I traded my usual Oakland soundtrack of helicopters, shopping carts and shouting for Mendo Studio's sweet symphony of crackling fireplace, frog circus and rejuvenating rain. It was wonderful. Glenn and Suzanne are fantastic hosts and inspiring people. They've outfitted their custom cabin with everything a travelling writer could need: comfortable bed, hot shower, small coffeemaker, a porch under the stars...
The cabin is surrounded by nature, with state parks, preserves and beaches in all directions. I had adventures mapped out, but I swapped some of my plans for Glenn's great suggestions, finding myself at at the top of a blowhole and across from a seal rookery. After hiking in the rain, I'd drive back and wave to deer as I cruised along their country road. Back at the cabin, I'd be greeted by their mother-daughter miniature horses and an unseen-but-heard chorus of frogs, and I'd go warm up by the fire.
Thanks very much, Glenn and Suzanne. I will return!
Wow. The Mendo Studio is just perfect. Glenn and Suzanne made our stay so cozy and wonderful. We drove to Mendocino on Friday evening and we thought following the directions to the studio might be difficult (sans (website hidden) Maps) but it was super easy to find and they had the studio's fireplace going, so it was nice and warm. So great. Then, the next morning we got to feed Glenn and Suzanne's mini horses before a day of adventuring in Mendocino and Fort Bragg. By the time we returned in the evening, we were exhausted and a little cold but GUESS WHAT?! The fireplace was going and we were super toasty and warm, thanks Glenn and Suzanne. You really made our stay in this cute little town just that much more memorable.
My boyfriend and I had a very nice and relaxing time at the Studio. Glenn and Suzanne were wonderful host's and were very accommodating . We would come back to the studio in the evening from our daytime adventure and have a nice warm welcoming fire in the wood burning store .
The bed is very comfy and the studio is spacious.
There are two Shetland ponies we enjoyed saying hello to. The property is very beautiful and quiet with the convenience of being a 10 minute drive to the village.
I would recommend staying at the studio and experiencing Glenn and Suzanne's warm hospitality. We will certainly stay with them again given the chance.
We had a great time staying with Glenn and Suzanne! They were so helpful and nice, and really made sure we were comfortable. They even let us pet and feed their mini-horses! The room was quiet and so relaxing... a perfect escape from city life. The studio is separate from the main house, so it's very private. It had everything we needed for our stay. We highly recommend staying here!
We spent a lovely three nights in Glenn and Suzanne's guesthouse and were thrilled. The property is located a short drive from Mendocino in a forested area which is beautifully private and quiet. The guesthouse is beautifully done with a handy kitchenette and a wood stove that Glen thoughtfully resupplies with wood throughout your visit. The bed linens, mattress, and funky brass bred are very comfortable, something which we appreciated all the more since our last AirBNB in Carmel had been on an IKEA fold out that was not the tops.
The best thing about our visit though, was the opportunity to get to know Glenn and Suzanne who are a delightful couple who took the time to fill us in on the best hiking trails in the Mendocino and give us other local pointers.
We are much looking forward to another visit and thank Glenn and Suzanne for their hospitality.
My boyfriend and I had the loveliest two-night stay at Glen & Suzanne's cozy little "cabin"! We definitely would LOVE to stay there again next time we're in Mendocino.
We arrived late in the evening from SF due to a few delays, but G&S stayed up to give us a warm welcome and quick tour of the place. I had mentioned that it was my birthday weekend and was soooo delighted to find a cute little birthday cake for me from G&S in the studio's fridge!
The studio itself was impeccably clean with lots of room, high ceilings, good natural light, and a very comfortable bed w/ a cool brass frame. The property is tucked into the woods, so you really feel like you're "getting away" and "unplugging"; but it's also a quick drive to the heart of Mendocino, hiking trails, and the beach = best of all worlds.
We give glowing, happy recommendations for this place! Thanks to Glen & Suzanne for being such lovely and thoughtful hosts!
My wife and I had an amazing weekend in Glenn and Suzanne's studio; it was incredibly relaxing to settle in by the fire, and not worry about the outside world for a couple of days. There are some delightful restaurants in the village of Mendocino, and a wider selection up in Fort Bragg, which is 10-15 minutes away. The views in the area are stunning, and the drive along this stretch of 1 is absolutely spectacular. Highly recommended!
Wow! What a perfect weekend! Glenn and Suzanne are such wonderful hosts! They greeted us with fresh daffodils and had the wood stove going. They were such lovely people to be welcomed by, right when I walked in I already didn't want to leave. They had great activity and food suggestions and had placed a lot of helpful material in the studio. The location feels remote and beautiful, yet it is only minutes from the sleepy town of Mendocino. Very easy to access with the map provided by Glenn. The studio is so clean with a lot of natural light and is bigger that it appeared in the pictures. Can't wait to stay in the Mendo studio again!
The Mendo Studio is a beautiful, well appointed and comfortable studio that offers tranquility and an escape to the woods, yet is just a few miles from picturesque Mendocino. When we booked our two-night stay at Mendo Studio we were really just looking for somewhere to break our journey north from San Francisco to Oregon, and had no idea about the area or where we'd be staying. This was our first AirBnB experience and hosts Glenn and Suzanne not only offer excellent accommodation but know how to make you feel at home. They have great knowledge of the area and were able to give us those insider tips that help you make the most of visiting a new area. Even nicer, every evening when we returned to the studio, Glenn had slow burning wood stove filling the studio with cozy warmth.
We definitely return and thoroughly recommend the Mendo Studio.
Thanks again, Glenn and Suzanne
