This is our home, so we'll be in and out. We have one other guest room, so there may or may not be other guests in the home when you are here.
The bathroom is shared and we do our best to plan our use around your schedule. Your hosts all go to work or school in the morning but we've never had a problem coordinating our bathroom use with our guests' needs.
The BnB is 17 year-old Marivi's business. John, her Dad, helps with booking and communication but she does the work. The income goes to support her many artistic and academic activities that Mom and Dad can't afford on top of her private school tuition. She takes her role as the business owner and innkeeper very seriously and is committed to making your experience in Buffalo the best it can possibly be.
Guests are free to share the house with the family, but be aware that the common room on the second floor outside the guest rooms is also the family TV room. The living room is usually a good place for guests to sit quietly without many interruptions.
Interaction with Guests
The family is busy and may or may not be around very much during your stay. We love to interact with guests who are looking for conversation, but we also respect the privacy of our guests who wish to be left alone.
We live in a very diverse, friendly neighborhood centrally located near many different city attractions including Elmwood Village, Delaware Park, Delaware Avenue, and ten minutes via car from Downtown.
Please note: always include the ZIP CODE (14209) when entering the address into a GPS to take you to our home. Without the zip code, you will end up at the wrong address in a neighborhood not as nice as ours!
Public transportation is a short walk away to the Metro Rail (Utica Street or Canisius College stations). Bus stops are also nearby. It is a bike friendly, walkable area, and for those who come by car, traffic is usually light.
Other Things to Note
We do not serve breakfast; however, we are very good at offering suggestions of good places to find some!
Absolutely no smoking
Bathroom is shared so common courtesy includes no personal items left in bathroom and also leave it as you found it, clean.

We had a great stay in the Paris Room. I came with a friend of mine for a bachelorette party weekend in Buffalo and this place was affordable and close to downtown/Allen bar area of buffalo. We didn't get to meet Marvi but we were able to text her, and her dad John greeted us on the porch and was very friendly and helpful. The whole family was very sweet and we felt comfortable. The Paris room is very cute and she has some great taste in art history :) their entire house was large and beautiful too which was fun.
It was a much older home which gave it some charm, so there were some issues with old doorknobs, etc, but the family was really nice about it . Overall great time and I highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a cheap and cute place to stay in buffalo.
Marivi and her father John were very welcoming hosts, they have a lovely home and gave us very good recommendations for where to eat. The room is very comfortable!
My girlfriend and I with our dog spent a night at Marivi's home during a road trip from Boston to Boulder. We were tired after a long drive and were very happy with what a good experience this was. Marivi is friendly and very efficient, the historic house is lovely, and our bed was very comfortable. We also quite enjoyed the neighborhood, having dinner at a Lebanese place and a morning brunch and stroll through a farmer's market. Great quick stay overall.
We had a wonderful stay at John's place from June 24-26.
We never got to meet Marivi, but John was very welcoming and accommodating. He helped us plan our trip to Niagara Falls. He's always there if you need anything at all.
The house is a 10-15 min drive away from Downtown Buffalo which is great! And the room is exactly as you see it in the pictures. And as mentioned by the others here, don't at all worry about the bathroom door not having a latch. The way they've worked it out is pretty systematic.
We even got parking spots for free right in front of the house :)
Overall we had a very very comfortable stay in the Paris room!

About the Host, Marivi And John
I am 17 years old. I was Miss New York Junior Teen in 2012, USA National Miss New York Teen and Miss New York High School in 2014 . I will be competing for Miss New York in the Miss America system in June 2015.
My parents allow me to use our family home for my AirBnB business. I use the proceeds of the business to help pay my expenses at a private girls' prep school, where I am an honor student, to fund my pageant activities as well as modeling and acting endeavors, and more.
I've been told I'm AirBnB's youngest host. I've been doing this for more than three years now. There is a large portrait of me and a few other interesting hosts hanging in the new AirBnB headquarters in San Francisco. My profile photo is one of the pictures that was taken during the photoshoot for this portrait.
My father, John Howell, has a little business on the side giving private insider tours of Buffalo. His fees for all of this are reasonable and he knows a lot about Buffalo's history and factoids you'd like to know. He charges a cash fee for these services.
Dad and I also offer transportation to guests when our schedules allow. Our fees for transportation are a little less than taxi cab fare, and you don't have to tip us. Many of our guests traveling by air, train, or bus, have appreciated the convenience of our help with rides to and from the airport, train stations or bus terminal. We are also often asked to take guests to Niagara Falls.
My father is also a novelist, and you can get an autographed copy of one of his books if you want one.
