The Space

In a diverse neighborhood within an easy walk of Buffalo's best and most historic neighborhoods including Millionaire's Row, Olmsted Parks, Forest Lawn Cemetery, museums, chic shopping district, great restaurants, with easy access to public transportation, 5-10 minutes from downtown by car. This 100 year old arts and crafts house was designed by one of Buffalo's leading architects at the time. Personal tours of the area are available as well as transportation to/from downtown, airport, bus or train station.

Free parking is easily available on the street for guests.

This is our home, so we'll be in and out. We have one other guest room, so there may or may not be other guests in the home when you are here.

The bathroom is shared and we do our best to plan our use around your schedule. Your hosts all go to work or school in the morning but we've never had a problem coordinating our bathroom use with our guests' needs.

The BnB is 16 year-old Marivi's business. John, her Dad, helps with booking and communication but she does the work. The income goes to support her many artistic and academic activities that Mom and Dad can't afford on top of her private school tuition. She takes her role as the business owner and innkeeper very seriously and is committed to making your experience in Buffalo the best it can possibly be.

Overall Guest Satisfaction
Check In
  • John was at work when we arrived and we discussed our plans prior to our arrival. We were able to get into the house, which is in a very convenient location in Buffalo. John gave us the run down of the things-to-do in the area and we were then able to walk to lunch, dinner, the park and bars around town.

The room was as described and the other house guests were courteous and friendly. I'll contact John again when I'm in Buffalo again.

  • Thank you very much for your hospitality :-D

The overall atmosphere is nice, and the facility is adequate for a cozy night. It will be better to make the room cleaner and tidier by a vacuum cleaner. Besides, a water-boiling pot & a hair dryer can be provided for public use, which will dramatically improve the overall living condition. All in all, I give 80 out of 100 for this experience.

  • The Paris room is simple, but good for a short stay. We were welcomed by John well. Buffalo airport is 25 min away by taxi. Ideal if you fly in late by Jetair, in order to visit Niagara the next day. From the house you can take the metro and bus to the falls (1 hr travel by public transport). We stayed the night. Thanks!

  • We had a great stay in Buffalo at this B&B. We were there for only one night and during that time, we had all we needed. A comfortable bed, a clean bathroom and street parking just outside the house. John offered some great recommendations to visit in Elmwood Village and we enjoyed the evening in the city! Thanks again.

  • Marivi and John were nice and easy to talk. Their place was clean and charming. In spite of her young age, Marivi is a responsible host and hard working student. Thank you for having my daughter and me in such a nice room with a comfortable bed! We enjoyed our stay!

Buffalo Seminary (Buffalo's oldest private girls' preparatory school)
AirBnB, Model, Singer, Actor, Aspiring Broadcast Journalist/Psychiatrist/Politician
I am 16 years old. I was Miss New York Junior Teen in 2012. My parents allow me to use our family home for my AirBnB business. I use the proceeds of the business to pay my tuition at a private girls' prep school, where I am an honor student and to fund my pageant activities as well as modeling and acting endeavors, an exchange trip to Spain, and more. I've been told I'm AirBnB's youngest host. There will soon be a large portrait of me and a few other interesting hosts hanging in the new AirBnB headquarters in San Francisco. My profile photo is one of the pictures that was taken during the photoshoot for this portrait. My father, John Howell, has a little business on the side giving private tours of the area to our guests, and transportation, when needed. He charges a cash fee for these services. His fees for transportation are a little less than taxi cab fare, and you don't have to tip him. Many of our guests traveling by air, train, or bus, have appreciated the convenience of his help with rides to and from the airport, train stations or bus terminal. He is also often asked to take guests to Niagara Falls, or to provide a personal insider tour of Buffalo. His fees for all of this are reasonable and he knows a lot about Buffalo's history and factoids you'd like to know. My father is also a novelist, and you can get an autographed copy of one of his books if you want one.
