About This Listing
This is a charming 1 bedroom apartment in the heart of San Francisco. Just 2 blocks away from the famous Fillmore Street (great shops and restaurants!!) and central to many other fun areas- the location cannot be beat! The apartment has a remodeled kitchen and bathroom, has a shabby-chic decor, and is perfect for 1 or 2 people looking to enjoy the wonderful city of San Francisco! The place is all yours while you stay.
The area offers:
*Fantastic restaurants and cafes (Out the Door, SPQR, Fresca, Woodhouse Grill, Elite Cafe, Florio, Le Boulange, Tortilla Heights, great sushi, etc).
* 2 blocks from the famous Sundance Kabuki movie theater where you can watch all new releases
* Mollie Stone and Safeway grocery stores are each 2 blocks away.
* There's a recreation center close by that has a small gym, basketball & tennis courts, pool, etc.
* Beautiful Alta Plaza park just four blocks away with views of the entire city, tennis courts and playground.
*MUNI bus transit going to most of the city a block away from the building (on Sutter and Geary). There is also plenty of parking in the neighborhood (just make sure to watch the signs for street cleaning!)
* 2 blocks from the UCSF hospital
Please note that the apartment is on the 3rd floor so you'll need to be OK walking up and down stairs.
There are a few rules, but they are strictly enforced:
Absolutely NO smoking!!!!!
No pets (sorry!)
No parties or loud noise as this is a very quiet area and we like to keep it that way.
Elizabeth's apartment is in a great location and very clean and well taken care of. It's spacious and has everything we needed for a couple days. Good water pressure in the shower and a comfortable bed with nice bedding (one of my requirements). The only downside was that the walls were pretty thin and we heard noise from other apartments-- the baby crying at 7AM sounded like it was in the apartment. On the whole though, it was a great rental and if you aren't a light sleeper you will enjoy it. Elizabeth was easy to deal with.
Elizabeth's place is perfect for San Fran. Safe neighbourhood, convenient location to all major sites, and super comfortable. She even had this great box full of maps and guides.
Her communication on how to access the unit was precise and timely while the laminated page with instructions and recommendations was very easy to understand.
Would totally stay here again.

We really enjoyed Elizabeth's place! It was cozy, nicely decorated, and met all our expectations. It was very bright and had a lot of natural light. Has a very nice kitchen if you wish to cook meals or take home restaurant leftovers for later. Also near Filmore which has a great selection of places to eat and explore. There is also a convenience store right around the corner if you need anything. It was very conveniently located near major bus lines. Elizabeth was very responsive and helpful via text message. Overall, a very good experience in a great location.
Elizabeth has a welcome letter that greets the people who stay at her home along with numerous brochures about things to do in the area. The apartment is in a safe area with some great breakfast places near by, though it is a little bit of a hike to tourist attractions. The home was very clean and well taken care of. It is in an old building, so from the outside it doesn't look great and the hallway smells dirty. But the inside of the apartment is very nice. The walls are thin, so you can hear the neighbors, fortunately, they aren't the type that make noise all night though.
We had some difficulty of getting in touch with our host initially. We tried to contact her before leaving for our 10 day trip (we were staying at her apartment at the end of the trip). However, she didn't respond until two days prior to our stay. Once she responded, the information provided was accurate and easy to understand.
We had some difficulty getting in touch with Elizabeth prior to our stay; eventually after 2 text messages, an air bnb message and a phone call she responded at 9am the morning we were due to arrive. This created a difficult situation for us with travelling and being out of a wifi zone and wasn't the best start to our stay.
On arrival the instructions for checking in were clear; the building looks a little run down from the outside but the area is actually great with all the restaurants and bars of Filmore street just a short walk away.
The apartment itself no longer looks like the photos in the listing as all of the beautiful antique furniture has been removed. We actually had to check the listing to see if it was the same place! It's still a comfortable apartment to spend a few days but I do think Elizabeth needs to update her listing photos.
All in all we enjoyed our stay at Elizabeth's place but it wasn't quite as cosy and welcoming as we had hoped and I wouldn't stay again.
About the Host, Elizabeth
I'm new to San Francisco and finally living in the city of my dreams! In my free time, I'm usually cooking, traveling, skiing, wine tasting and running around SF events. I love to host guests and dinner parties!
I totally love my apartment and have made it really feel like home. Even though I enjoy my time in it, I am often staying with my boyfriend and my place is empty... so I decided to rent it out on this site as I love the idea and really enjoy sharing my home with people who would appreciate it!
