This is a charming 1 bedroom apartment in the heart of San Francisco. Just 2 blocks away from the famous Fillmore Street (great shops and restaurants!!) and central to many other fun areas- the location cannot be beat! The apartment has a remodeled kitchen and bathroom, has a shabby-chic decor, and is perfect for 1 or 2 people looking to enjoy the wonderful city of San Francisco! The place is all yours while you stay.

The area offers:

  • Central to most of San Francisco's hot spots - this sunny and bright apartment has everything one would need to both explore or stay in. A forced hibernation on the day we checked in, both my friend and I managed to stay comfortable and out of each others way. An attentive host -- (she was on vacation!), Sara emailed a number of times to ensure we had what we needed and that we'd settled in comfortably. Would recommend her home without reservation.

  • We started our two week California trip with three days at this bright apt. Lovely neighborhood. The apt is clean and perfect for a couple. Loved oatmeal breakfast at cafe Murano around the corner, which opens at 6.30, ideal for European jet lag!

  • This is a cute and comfortable apartment within walking distant to great restaurants and shops. Parking was a breeze and we could leave our car in the same spot for the duration of our quick stay. All amenities were modern and clean and the host was great in communicating and welcoming us. We would definitely like to stay at Sara Elizabeth's charming apartment again in the future!

  • This apartment is close to many SF districts, especially Japantown and the generally under-appreciated black neighborhoods, also connected to many bus lines. Great grocery store very close. The place is clean, comfortable, comes with a fast, reliable wifi connection, and is probably best for a single person or a short stay for two. Water pressure is excellent and, for cooking, there is a nice gas stove, much appreciated. There are neighbors on two sides, including a barking dog, but everybody seems to be mindful of the close quarters. From the dining room bay, you have a great view of Pierce and everything that goes on. Great for people like me who love doing nothing and looking out the window. Host was immediately responsive to the one query we had.

  • This apartment is indeed conveniently located. We ate on or very nearby Fillmore Street four nights out of seven in SF (and a little further afield at great Vietnamese - Bodega). We also discovered good espresso coffee at Jane's on Fillmore, walked up to Alta Plaza Park with the gorgeous view, looked around the interesting Japan Centre, caught a show at Yoshi's on Fillmore and found the buses so easy with a one week Muni passport. We were very comfy. The bed is great, the table in the window is pleasant, the rooms are bright and fresh. I would definitely recommend this apartment.

A couple of points to note depending on guest preferences. We like to watch the news so we were disappointed and a bit frustrated to find that the TV listed in the amenities does not do what TVs do - receive TV channels. It can only be used to watch US region coded DVDs. As Aussies we also like tea and toast, but as in much US accommodation, there was no tea pot or toaster. Minor issues during a great week in SF.

  • Everything was perfect.

  • Lovely experience at this location. Having traveled to the Bay Area before, my husband and I were seeking more of a neighborhood experience and this cute apartment was definitely the ticket! A delightful stroll up to Fillmore for dinner and drinks with friends, and back again in no time. The area is safe and well-appointed, with plenty of adjacent convenience stores, restaurants and the like to satisfy any need.

Although we didn't meet our host, she ensured access to the apartment and getting settled was effortless in every way. As she mentions, there are three flights of stairs to reach the apartment, so consider that in your plans. The unit is clean, bright and altogether charming, with plenty of space to spread your legs after a long day of walking. One note for light sleepers: there are some nighttime sounds from the floor above, so bring your own "white noise" in the form of a fan or iPhone app.

Overall, a wonderful jumping off point to get better acquainted with San Francisco and all it has to offer. This was a delightful experience and we would definitely stay again.

  • From the photos and reviews we had seen I thought my wife and I hit the jackpot so we booked our 5 night stay at Sara's place to end our honeymoon trip before heading home.

THE PHOTOS LIE - On arrival I was a bit confused; I thought we were in the wrong unit. I had to take out my phone and actually look at the photos of the listing to confirm we were in the correct place. The nice cozy duvet, the antique furniture, lamps, things hanging on the wall. Most of it has been removed (why? I don't know). This unit does not feel anything like the photos suggest and those misleading photos should be taken down.

NO WINE - arriving at 10:30pm and feeling a little taken advantage of by the misleading photos we took solace in the fact that Sara leaves a complimentary bottle of wine for her new guests. We looked around everywhere for it and didn't find one. There wasn't one for us as we were led to believe when booking.

BROKEN SECURITY - the deadbolt lock on the door is unfathomable. There is a single screw which holds the lock into the door frame. If somebody wanted to open the door when locked they could literally lean on the door and it would pop open. We brought this to Sara's attention and she said she would have it taken care of. Nothing was done about it.

NO TOILET PAPER - On our fourth day we ran out of our first roll of toilet paper so I began looking around for a second roll. To my dismay there wasn't ANY! We contacted Sara to let her know and she said she would have some dropped off....she didn't!

NO EXTRA BLANKET - it was brisk at night during our stay and my wife was pretty cold so I figured another blanket would do the job. I went through all of her closets and discovered there wasn't a single extra blanket available to cover us both up in bed.

USED TOILETRIES? - we weren't going to use the complimentary toiletries that were so nicely placed on our rolled towels which were on our bed. We brought our own. But if you are going to make this gesture and offer toiletries in this fashion perhaps they shouldn't be previously used toiletries?

In conclusion: I think Sara means well. If you are going to offer somebody your property as an accommodation service you need to be very honest and you need to follow up on what you've promised without the guests having to ask for it. We were let down considerably. We did not have high expectations and we both know we are not "diva's" or "high maintenance". I guess we expected to be treated as we would treat guests staying in our home. The experience left us feeling ripped off and our impression of Sara being more of a business person than a host.

  • We had a great time at this beautiful appartment! The location is just perfect. The neighbourhood is very safe and nice. Close to shops, bars and restaurants. Bus station (with direct connection to the city center) is just a few blocks from the appartment. Communication with Elizabeth was very easy and fast. We will definitely stay here again.

About
I'm new to San Francisco and finally living in the city of my dreams! In my free time, I'm usually cooking, traveling, skiing, wine tasting and running around SF events. I love to host guests and dinner parties! I totally love my apartment and have made it really feel like home. Even though I enjoy my time in it, I am often staying with my boyfriend and my place is empty... so I decided to rent it out on this site as I love the idea and really enjoy sharing my home with people who would appreciate it!
