  • Great location, plenty of room and storage. Used the beach equipment in the back.
Ocean view in the front. So glad no chicken noises -- just ocean sounds. Would definitely return again. Thank you so much. We loved it!

  • The Guesthouse was so close to everything on the South shore of Kauai! And it felt like a home away from home. Loved the momma and baby bird on the front balcony.

  • Location is great!! The furnishings are functional, but a bit tired. I'd recommend for a short stay but with no microwave or 'kitchen' sink it's not ideal for any stay longer than a couple days unless you plan on eating out quite a bit. We had no opportunity to meet Phyllis though we stayed for 8 days. Nice touches such as a good sized frig, coffee and chocolate. It was terrific to have washer/dryer available. Aloha

  • This is a great little place to stay, everso clean, spacious, quiet, steps away from a beach and with lovely touches like the chocolates, coffee and fruit. Very reasonable price also, as this is an area full of expensive hotels. Own transport recommended.

  • We had a wonderful time at Surfsong in the Flamingo room! The location is perfect. You are on the second floor and can see the ocean from your front porch, and the mountains from the back. The kitchenette worked perfectly, and we cooked on the grill a few times, which worked well. The location of the unit is within walking distance to the local shops and a few really great swimming and snorkeling spots. Phyllis was lovely, and our whole experience was great. We would definitely recommend this place, and would love to stay here again.

Aloha Elizabeth, Thanks so much for your feedback. I am so glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay and and that you used the grill a few times to prepare meals. I think cooking out is fun and with the grill, it can be fast too. It was great having you stay with us, and hope you will be able to return sometime in the future. Mahalo, Phyllis

  • This place is a real gem. It sits across the street from multi-million dollar houses, and if you get room 4, you have a view of the mountains AND the ocean.
We spent 10 days here and overall really enjoyed it. To my surprise, this particular room did not have a kitchen, we had to share one with a couple other guests. This seemed a bit hostel-ish, but not a big deal. The host/owner was very present to deal with and very helpful. The location really couldn't be better. There is a fine beach across the street with great snorkeling nearby. It's in a very quiet location- no resort traffic. As I said, a real gem.

I'm hesitant to list any negatives as my small gripes have to do more with "you get what you pay for". The conditions of the condo are definitely dated. Some new carpet and bathroom sink would go a long, long way in this unit.

Overall, a great experience and we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Kauai.

  • We stayed in the flamingo room and enjoyed it very much. Phyllis was very helpful with suggestions of nearby beaches and even informed of a trail closure, saving us a long drive. The accommodations are true to the photos, nothing fancy, but definitely fine for 2 people. We enjoyed the 2 lanais, one of which has a view of the ocean, just steps away. We also were able to make our own breakfasts and lunches and even barbecued one night for dinner. All in all, a very comfortable place to stay. You really can hear the ocean waves at night, which is quite nice.

  • Awesome location, and everything you could possibly need while on vacation. Phyllis also had local fresh fruit in the unit when I got there, and a washer and dryer on the property... no charge. I will stay here again on my next Kauai trip.
