Martine is the model of what a great Airbnb hostest/host should be. Friendly, helpful with advice on what to see and do--and how to get around. The apt is exactly as promised on her page; a cozy, spacious place furnished with a very personal touch. My wife and I felt at home immediately. We have visited Paris many times before but this was a new neighborhood for us--quiet, residential, handsome buildings. Restaurants and shops nearby. Doesn't have the buzz of St. Germaine or Marais, but the handy Metro (where three lines converge) gets you anywhere quickly. A pity we only had four nights this time, but enjoyed every minute of the visit.
Beautiful and spacious apartment, lots of natural light. Great location. Very close to groceries and cafes. It is in a very quiet location, and seemed like a very safe neighborhood. Bathroom and kitchen were of the right size for us. We felt like we were in home away from home (except better, since it was Paris!).
The best part of the stay was that we got to interact with Martine who is a wonderful host. She helped us get to the airport in time for our return flight with detailed Metro-RER instructions. This was on a day when all the taxis were on strike, and had blocked every road access to the airport! She even helped us print our online tickets for some tourist attractions. She had also stocked the fridge with food based on our dietary constraints in our emails prior to the stay. These small touches went a long way in making our trip stress free and thoroughly enjoyable.
I would strongly recommend this apartment to my friends. I hope we can stay with Martine again the next time we are in Paris!
Great location, clean, spacious apartment, the experience for a first time Airbnb'r was better than the usual hotel experience. We really appreciated the kitchen space and the quiet apartment. The building was clean and secure and could not beat the neighborhood for convenience. We walked everywhere this trip, next trip to Paris will stay longer than 4 nights and visit more locations.
Maritine was very timely with information, email and text, very convenient.
I spent a week in Martine's apartment.
The apartment is very well located just five minutes walking to the Eiffel Tower. It is very spacious, comfortable and have everything that you need. The neighborhood is very safe with lots of things around, like market, butchery etc.
Martine was a wonderful host, always worried about with us, taking care if everything was going right. She gave us good tips like places to eat, traditional French restaurants.
She is wonderful and I would like to have had more time to talk with her.
This was my first time in Paris but I hope coming back soon. For sure I will stay there again.
I realy recommend Martine's apartment.
High ceilings, large windows, lovely floors, spacious, the walls with amusing art works and in a marvellous Art Deco building built around 1930. The kitchen small but functional. A fast wifi connection. The hosts always close by and on call when needed are very charming and helpful. Since we would like to stay here again I should not be writing this review so let me tell you of the downside. The Metro although nearby has numerous steps
Martine and Fabrice were amazing. My wife Michelle and I stayed for 7 days on our honeymoon and couldn't have been happier. The apartment is beautiful and is in a perfect location for getting around town. It's on a quiet street with a lift and was a warm welcome from the autumn weather. The neighborhood is also fantastic, about a 3 minute walk to the Eiffel tower, shopping one block over, lots of brasseries and restaurants nearby. There is a metro station right down the street for getting further into the city. We're looking forward to coming back for an anniversary!
My boyfriend and I stay in the apartment for a weekend to celebrate my 21st. Martine and Fabrice are lovely; they're very welcoming and informative. Everything we needed was in the apartment, and it was heated well which is a bonus during the winter months! It is located very close to the metro and the Eiffel Tower; there are plenty of restaurants, bakeries and supermarkets nearby. I would recommend the apartment for a couple who wans a cosy stay in Paris !
This apartment suited us down to the ground. It is in a good location, spacious and full of interesting books! Martine organised the welcome extremely efficiently although she could not be there herself to let us in. The flat was very clean and had everything we needed although it is not a flat for doing real cooking in. There are convenient local shops that sell everything.
My wife and I stayed at this beautiful apartment in Paris for 4 days... and both wish that it was for much much longer. Martine & her sister are the best hosts you could ask for. Martine left a list of some of the best restaurants in the area as well as directions to the closest supermarket (which is just a couple of blocks away!). The neighbourhood surrounding the apartment is safe (as not all areas in Paris are). You're right down the street from the Metro which will get you anywhere in Paris! The Eiffel Tour is only a 10-15 min walk from your front door.
The apartment itself is everything you'd hope it to be and more. It was almost like staying in a hotel. There were little things thoughtfully placed around the apartment; travel guides (in different languages), a new toothbrush in case one was forgotten, milk/butter/juice in the fridge, toiletries (hairspray, gel, toothpaste, shower gel), and plenty of fresh towels. The place was very tidy and is stocked with a wealth of amazing books in case you want to spend the day indoors with a book and glass of wine.
We couldn't have been happier with our stay and my wife asked if we could come back to that apartment every time we visit Paris.
Easy answer :)
