We love our adopted country and enjoy sharing our hospitality and experiences with family and friends - so why not guests and friends yet to be met.
We could not have hoped for a warmer welcome from the Simmonds family which was especially appreciated after a long flight. The room was very comfortable, in particular the beds and the bathroom was spotless. The pool was a welcome retreat from the heat. This airbnb is suitable for families. Thanks very much for the wonderful hospitality and we'll see you the next time we are in Dubai

Un séjour très agréable dans cette famille très accueillante.
La piscine bien que nous ne layons pas utilisée semble bien agréable.
Merci encore a toute la famille.
We have had a wonderful time in Dubai thanks to Melanie and her family. We were given plenty of hints as how to enjoy their lovely city and when we had problems with a taxi driver and the loss of a wallet, Melanie was a great help. We would be very happy to make a return visit. Thank you Melanie. Rob & Carol

After trying to contact Melanie via email and Air bnb we finally got a response after 6 days, saying that our booking had been double booked and to look for other accommodation. If I hadn't followed up on this booking we may have landed in Dubai after a long flight and without accommodation. As we are elderly people this would have been very inconvenient to say the least. I will book through a normal agency in future and not through private people. Much more reliable. Very disappointed.
Arrived shortly before midnight after a long flight from Perth. A 15 minute taxi ride to the property where we received a friendly welcome from Ian, who had obviously just got out of bed to open the door (he was in his dressing gown!). After showing us to our ensuite room, he left us to it and we settled down for a good nights sleep. In the morning, we headed to the kitchen in search of breakfast, no sign of our hosts but we were entertained by their two charming 7 year old children who did their best to tell us all about Dubai, where to go and what to see!! They also told us that Dad (Ian) had gone to work and mum (Melanie) had gone shopping for groceries. After chatting to the children for half an hour or more, their non-english speaking housekeeper eventually made breakfast for us. To be honest, we were a little disappointed at this point as it is the interaction with your hosts that make overnight stays interesting and the fact that neither of them were there meant we were going to have to figure everything out for ourselves. Having breakfasted and readied ourselves for a days exploring, an apologetic Melanie retuned from the shops and gave us a few tips for our day in the city before rushing off to a meeting. When we returned later that evening, we sat outside by the pool and talked amongst ourselves. After about 15 minutes, Ian appeared, chatted to us for a little while, before excusing himself and heading off to bed. Next morning, we were greeted by Melanie who prepared a wonderful breakfast for us by the pool and spent plenty of time talking to us about life in Dubai and helping us plan our last day in the city. Overall, our hosts appeared to be very nice genuine people but we did feel a little bit neglected at times.
A great location with a lovely family who couldn't have been better hosts. We felt totally at home - just like visiting old friends. Their children are delightful and added to our enjoyment of the visit.
We enjoyed our stay in Melanie's house, the room was comfortable and spacious. Melanie and her family were warm and welcoming and Melanie gave us good information about the places to visit.
We had a great time staying with Melanie and Ian. We felt right at home and were left to do what we liked. We very grateful for the vouchers and hospitality! Would definitely recommend!
I stayed with Melanie and her family for 3 days on my way to Australia. I didn't know Dubai at all at the time. However, the Simmonds helped me where ever possible to discover the best spots and with finding my way around.
Melanie and her family make guests feel very welcome while not at all intruding into their private space. It was a lovely stay and I'm hoping to come back soon.
