We are happy to chat about Portland or your stay. Because it is a private apartment, you won't be seeing us all the time. We are usually around the entire stay, but will let you know if we plan to do a short trip to the beach.
Mt. Tabor/Montavilla neighborhood is a great place to explore. You can walk to Mt. Tabor Park, The Academy Theater, coffee shops and restaurants.
We are near bus and bike routes to downtown Portland. We are just a minute walk from the #4 bus, a frequent service bus that goes downtown.
No smoking please.
Fantastic ! Our hosts were both wonderful people and the apartment was perfect. It was private, clean, well maintained, quiet and comfortable. Sarah made it very clear that if we needed anything then all we need do is ask. I recommend this unit to all and we will certainly stay with them again when in the Portland area. We felt very safe and comfortable in their neighborhood. Thank you so much for helping make our visit a joyful one. Best wishes, Pete and Samantha :)
Great experience! This was our first time at Sarah's house and I know we will be back. The bed was comfortable, space was clean and well lit, and the basement kept cool in the Portland summer heat. Sarah was great and reached out in advance to setup leaving a key. The neighborhood was quiet and there was plenty of street parking. Definitely returning to this location!
Great experience! I didn't get to meet Sarah but communication was excellent. The apartment is perfect for 2 or 3 people, the kitchenette has everything you need for a few days stay. The location is very good, just in the corner there's a bus stop and the #4 will take you to downtown, also Mt tabor park is at walking distance and so is a street with a bunch of yummy Asian restaurants. We'll definitely stay again if available.
We absolutely loved staying here! It was just perfect for our little family. The king bed was very comfortable and so was the couch bed! The space was immaculate and even though it was hot when we visited, our area stayed very cool. Sarah greeted us and showed us around when we arrived and even let us do some laundry. She was easy to reach by text too. Would definitely stay here again! Cute neighborhood too!
The basement apartment provided a cool, comfortable getaway from the unusually hot Portland weather. The kitchen had just enough amenities that we could reheat our take-out or make coffee in the morning. It was quiet and we slept well in the very comfortable king sized bed! Being close to Mt. Tabor was key for us because we had a family reunion to attend. Walking there was easy and the neighborhood was really sweet. Sarah let me know that they had an outdoor seating area and that we were welcome to use it. We took advantage of it on our last night and thoroughly enjoyed the comfort and beauty of their side yard. It's a lovely place.
The basement apartment was a perfect home base for us in Portland. Sarah was very friendly in greeting us, walking us through the space, and giving us some local recommendations. Would gladly stay here again on a future trip to the area.
Sarah's basement apartment was exactly what we were looking for for our Portland vacation. Between the privacy afforded by a separate entrance to the location convenient to mass transit, we really couldn't have asked for more. The apartment was exactly as described, in fact, it was nicer than the pictures suggest. It was homey, comfortable, and perfectly outfitted for our stay.
A short walk in one direction brought us to a nice selection of restaurants and a small grocer. And even shorter walk the other direction brought us to a bus stop and by extension, all of Portland! The Hawthorne district is just a short ride away, an downtown Portland can be reached in just minutes.
We will definitely book with Sarah again on our next visit to Portland!
