Description

The space

This historic house is a comfortable place to hang out with the whole extended family. It has a study, a library, a big combined family room/dining room/kitchen, full bathroom, and screened porch on the first floor. Two full bathrooms and four big bedrooms with full or queen beds and one smaller bedroom with a twin bed on the second floor.

Guest access

fully equipped kitchen, books galore, games, toys, bikes, barbeque, records, turntable, vcr tapes, big screen tv and dvd/vcr player. The only thing lacking is cell service, internet (though available outside the library), and TV. So disconnect and enjoy !

Interaction with guests

This is our second home, but there is a live in couple in the adjoining apartment who will welcome you, answer questions and help with anything.

The neighborhood

Warwick is the town that time forgot. Miles of trails to hike and ski just outside the door. Quiet shady hilly roads attract bicyclists. You can walk from our house up Mt. Grace, the highest mountain east of the Connecticut River in Mass. Working farms, a wonderful town library and cultural programs in the Town Hall many weekends. Yet only 40 minutes from Amherst, Northampton, Keene, and Brattleboro. Under 2 hours from Boston

Getting around

A car is essential but there is bus service to Amherst, Northampton, Keene, and Brattleboro and train service to Amherst and Brattleboro

Other things to note

Within 5 to 15 minutes of the house there is a town beach on a pond, a forgotten swimming lake, and a state park with swimming. . There is canoeing and canoe rentals in nearby Orange, along the Millers River and in Tully State Park, both about 20 minutes away.
two night minimum stay
