Guests invited to meander forest paths, pick fresh produce in the family garden, interact with farm animals, relax around a bonfire, play yard games, take a farm tour. Gorgeous sunsets. Incredible star gazing. 13 Min. to Tall Pines ATV Park and Alfred U and Alfred State. COVID cleaning guidelines carefully followed.

The space
Our delightful farmhouse has been lovingly updated with modern amenities yet keeping it's original farmhouse charm. The downstairs master bedroom is complete with a comfortable four-poster queen bed and a private bath with a restored claw-foot tub. A perfect way to relax and rejuvenate. Two large upstairs bedrooms are furnished with 3 twin beds each and the smaller bedroom has 1 twin bed. The charming upstairs bathroom includes a shower/claw-foot tub combo. There is also another bath on the main floor with a shower. All bathrooms are furnished with soft towels and complimentary soap and shampoo. An on-demand hot water heater delivers non-stop hot cold showers here. The living room is large and bright with a beautiful full-wall window nook. Three couches easily accommodate nine people. A new, touch-screen, easily controlled pellet stove (thermostat included) adds warmth and a relaxing wood fire in the autumn and springtime months. A washer and dryer are conveniently located on the main floor for your convenience.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, stove, fridge, dishwasher, dishes & utensils, pots & pans, basic spices (salt & pepper, garlic, and onion powder), plus basic pantry items such as flour, oil, baking soda and powder, and sugar. Guests are invited to gather farm fresh eggs from our free-range chickens, and during the summer months, fresh seasonal produce is available to harvest from our beautiful gardens. Outside, a gas barbecue grill is available along with two picnic tables for outdoor meals and picnics. PLEASE NOTE: Guests Cook Their Own Delicious Meals. We are not licensed to cook meals for guests staying in the farm house. Thank you. There are many wonderful places to eat out plus multiple grocery stores within a short driving distance.

There is a terrific, very large fire pit located in the woods with three picnic tables. It is available for guest's use and is perfect for large family gatherings. There is also a cozy fire pit close to the farmhouse for your enjoyment. Bring your hot dogs and s'mores and enjoy a cookout.

The farm, fields, surrounding woods, and children's play area are available to enjoy. Outdoor activities included in your stay include badminton, tetherball, boccie ball, and kite flying. On clear nights, millions of stars shine through. No light pollution here. Farm tours available. Farm animals include our Finnsheep flock, chickens, two barn cats (they are never in the house) and sometimes, depending on the season, pigs and goats. Baby lambs arrive the first week of May. We usually have at least one bum lamb for guests to bottle feed. A favorite of children and adults alike.

We are also excited to share our new game room located in the top of our wonderful old, hand-hewn bank barn. It is available May-October and will be open during daylight hours. There is a ping-pong and Foosball table for your enjoyment.

On a peaceful walk through the woodlands, guests may be treated to a variety of wild animals including deer, turkey, chipmunks, many birds, and an occasional fox, not to mention the pesky woodchucks that like to inhabit our fields:)

We invite you to unwind, unplug and enjoy the solitude of country living with all the comforts of home. Greenwood Hill Farm has a special, "magical" as one guest said, feeling. It is a place to gather away from the busy patterns of our lives and connect with loved ones. We look forward to meeting you. (We meet our guests upon arrival, answer any questions, arrange a farm tour if desired, and then let you enjoy our hill top farm as though it was your own. We are always available if needed, but also respect your space and privacy.)

Where you’ll be

Andover, New York, United States

Our immediate neighborhood includes beautiful countryside with a dairy farm just across the way. Alfred University & Alfred State are only 15 minutes away, and the quaint little town of Andover is just 5 minutes down the road complete with gas and a Family Dollar for last-minute groceries (no fresh meat or produce). You can also enjoy the local "hangout", the Emporium. It started out as a gift shop, but it is the in-place to go for coffee, snacks, and friendly conversation (you can still get gifts also). Andover's most famous local artisan is located on Main Street. His shop of authentic Celtic jewelry is a "must-see" for visitors to the area. Nearby is the wonderful Mennonite Deli serving delicious sandwiches and Perry's ice cream. Full service grocery stores are 15 minutes away in Wellsville or 30 minutes in Hornell. In the fall, visitors enjoy the Allegany Artisans Studio Tour and the Annual Ridgewalk and Run.

We are conveniently located within 2 hours of Rochester, Buffalo, Corning Glass Museum, Church Historic Sites, Letchworth State Park, and Stony Brook Park. The Chemung and Genesee Rivers are close by for those who enjoy fishing and/or canoeing.
