About this listing
We offer stunning views, convenient access to town, and abundant wildlife. Casa Morfo, nestled into the jungle, is clean and comfortable and comes fully equipped. Agua Vista provides the perfect combination of seclusion and accessibility.
A beautiful house with a laid back rustic feel, Casa Morfo sits within the jungle, under the shade of a bamboo grove overlooking ocean views. Wake to the sounds of the jungle and the ocean out your window. Relax on the spacious tiled porch, you swing on the hammock, lounge on the ample built-in benches on the wood deck, and enjoy the views and wildlife around you. Take a refreshing dip in your private plunge pool. Luxuriate in your unique rock wall enclosed indoor/outdoor shower - the best of both. Prepare delicious meals in your fully equipped kitchen with all new appliances. This house is named for the enormous electric-blue butterflies we see fluttering around here.
While Casa Morfo has its own private plunge pool, there is also an infinite edge pool available for use by all Agua Vista guests.

We are located directly on the Montezuma River with 800 meters of river front and direct private access via well maintained trails. We have several very nice mini falls and dipping pools at our point on the river and a 10 minute walk down river will bring you to the top two falls of the famous Montezuma waterfalls. The third and final fall descends over 80 feet and is only safely accessed from below.
We are located approximately 2 km to both town and the beach, which is a 5 minute drive or a 30 minute walk. Slightly more than half of this distance is on our driveway which is a winding dirt road through secondary forest. There are several hills along the way, the most notable one on the main road which is a long steep hill into Montezuma.
Though most of our guests do rent a car, approximately 40% do not and either rely on taxis or walking to get to and from town and the beach. If you do not plan on doing a lot of touring around, taking taxis can be more economical, if slightly less convenient. If you find after you arrive that you would like to rent a car, we can arrange this for you.
My 27 yr old daughter and I planned a big adventure to Costa Rica. She did an extensive search of all the areas to see and chose Mal Pais and Pachamama. It was worth her time. Arriving at Pachamama we entered through a huge sliding gate into a private compound of well groomed grounds. Our house was fabulous and full of cool "spots" to enjoy. I laid in the hammock watching little white faced monkeys eating fruit right off the veranda while listening to the surf. Our host Franz was very accommodating by checking in to see if we needed anything. He had the four wheeler right on the property which was very convenient and was able to set up any day trips for us. This is a full-service house, and Franz is a top-notch host. He has surfboards and ATVs available, and will show you how to operate them and where to use them.
Beautiful beaches everywhere including one right across the road with a great restaurant. Take a 5 min ride to quite a cosmopolitan town. We look forward to our return to Pachamama.

About the Host, AguaVista
The four rental houses at Agua Vista are located in the lush hills above Montezuma, at the bottom of the Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica.
We are a Tico-Gringa couple who met here in 1993 and have two little monkeys of our own. He hails from neighboring Cóbano and she comes all the way from New Jersey, USA.
After living in The Big Apple for 9 years, we decided to move back to the 'ol hometown in 2006 so the kids could swap jungle gyms for the jungle, and we happily left computer maintenance and children's animated television behind!
Because of our bicultural heritage and our deep roots in the local community, we are able to provide you with an authentic Costa Rican experience that also respects the unique concerns of tourists from abroad.
