We offer stunning views, convenient access to town, and abundant wildlife. Available for long term rent, the Bamboo Bungalow, nestled into the jungle, is clean and comfortable and comes fully equipped. Agua Vista provides the perfect combination of seclusion and accessibility.

The space

The Bamboo Bunglaow is a teak one bedroom, one bathroom, casita with an equipped kitchen and wrap around porch. It is tucked into the jungle along the Montezuma River. That rushing sound you hear is the river roaring below you towards the famous Montezuma Waterfalls. From the porch you can soak in the view of the gulf and the parade of wildlife through the jungle canopy. The hot water indoor shower has a huge window open to the jungle canopy with peek a boo views to the ocean - it feels like showering in the jungle. The bungalow also comes with an outdoor shower nestled into the stand of bamboo next to the bungalow. Rustic, comfortable, cozy, and secluded.

Guest access

The infinite edge pool is situated nearby and is available for use by all of our guests.

Interaction with guests

Absolutely amazing stay! We saw so much wildlife at the Bamboo Bungalow. The place was clean and tidy 100%. We would come back here again for sure. Recommendation i would have for anyone staying would be to rent a means of transportation. The Bungalow is about a half hour walk from village of Montezuma. Otherwise the only details i would like to see is a updated comfortable matress, shades for the windows and some board or card games to play. Minor details not a game changer. This place is a must stay if your visiting Montezuma Costa Rica!

What an amazing stay! Great hosts, great location, we even stayed an extra day because it was just the getaway we needed. We couldn't get enough of the shower & the pool. Waking to the sound of monkeys and the waterfall was perfect. I would move here in a second! The drive to get here is rough, but it is so so worth it. We accidentally took the keys (which we have mailed back, so sorry again.) So just remember to give them the keys before you leave, but trust me you won't want to leave this place!

Alex and Khalida were the most wonderful and welcoming guests! The bungalow was everything we could have hoped for: simple, private, super clean + the views were unbeatable. The pool was absolutely gorgeous and so refreshing. The grounds were well kept + we enjoyed the large quantity of flowers and plants as well as wildlife. We wish so much that we had booked a MUCH longer stay as we were truly sad to leave. We appreciated that Alex + Khalida gave us plenty of space in terms of privacy but were readily available to help us with anything we needed, including maps and directions. They also lent us a crib for our baby, complete with light blankets. :-) They are such a lovely couple (family for that matter) + we really enjoyed chatting with them + learning about their way of life in Montezuma. The trails on the property down to the waterfalls were so great + easily accessible (with our 11 month old not to mention). The pools were extremely refreshing + so clean! We truly can't say enough about AguaVista except that it is a gem of a place and we will ABSOLUTELY be back!

Khalida and Alex met us cheerfully the minute we drove in. We felt welcomed and refreshed right away after our long, dusty, bumpy highway trip. The clean and tidy bungalow has a terrific shower and bedroom arrangement, facing onto the bamboo copse and the jungle. You can hear the waterfall sound from the jungle, but it's not at all obtrusive. The living area is open, with views to all sides. We really enjoyed that combination of privacy and openness, and everything was really easy to use.

The bamboo bungalow was amazing, it had a beautiful view of the ocean and was very comfortable and quite. Just what we needed! It comes with daily cleaning, and the housekeeper did an incredible job! The host were very friendly and took care of everything we needed, while not hovering over the property! Any future stays in Montezuma I will definitely check with agua vista first!

Awesome place !! Conveniently located, about 5 min from beautiful Montezuma and 10 min from Cóbano, where you can get groceries to cook at home. You can also get to Santa Teresa, Playa Carmen and Mal Pais in about 20 min. We were warmly welcomed by the Host, Alex, who made us feel home and gave us lots of tips and advice about the area. The cabin was spotless and had everything we needed. A river runs through the property with a couple of accessible waterfalls that you can hear while taking a hot shower. Shower was so great we wanted to take like 5 showers a day, but of course you have to be conscious about natural resources and save water, not only here, but everywhere in the world you travel. Nice pool to cool off when you get back from the beautiful beaches. The cabin gets the nicest breeze all day long and you don't even need a fan most of the time. And at nigh if you leave the windows open (with the screen of course), you feel like you had the AC on. One morning while cooking breakfast, we were visited by 6 "Cara Blanca" monkeys, waiting on the deck for us to give them food. Don't feed them. They get plenty of food from the jungle around. Don't leave any food out or all the animals around will try to get in even through the screen. All and all, we had a wonderful time staying at Bamboo Vista. Thanks Alex, we will be back and recommend your place to all of our friends.

We are a Tico-Gringa couple who met here in 1993 and have two little monkeys of our own. He hails from neighboring Cóbano and she comes all the way from New Jersey, USA.

After living in The Big Apple for 9 years, we decided to move back to the 'ol hometown in 2006 so the kids could swap jungle gyms for the jungle, and we happily left computer maintenance and children's animated television behind!

Because of our bicultural heritage and our deep roots in the local community, we are able to provide you with an authentic Costa Rican experience that also respects the unique concerns of tourists from abroad.

Our four rental houses at Agua Vista are located in the lush hills above Montezuma, at the bottom of the Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica.

We also have a new house to the market, Casa del Río, located along the same Montezuma River, but on a separate property. This house was completed in October of 2015 and is both for sale and for rent.
