  • We had a great time! Annie went out of her way to make sure we were happy and had everything we needed. She was great about telling us anything we wanted to know about the area...shopping, food, surf, etc. We enjoyed the cottage and loved being so close to the beach. We love the neighborhood. She was sweet and welcoming to my dog too. So great to jump into the hot tub after surfing! Loved it all! Thanks Annie!

  • Annie was a gracious host with an easy-going personality. A retreat to her little bungalow home is just what the doctor ordered. A very short walk to the beach the whole experience renewed our spirit. The hot tub in the back yard was also nice and relaxing as well.

Pointer: There is a little breakfast place down the street called The Point Market and Cafe which serves delicious breakfast burritos. Be sure to grab one in the morning, and eat it as you watch the surfers ride the waves in the morning...you might even see Annie out there.

  • I enjoyed staying at Annie's cottage. The hot tub is great as is the location. Taking a cup of tea to the beach to watch the sunset was an almost daily delight. Great images. All the stores you need are just down the road. When I mentioned to Annie that the lights were flickering Annie had an electrician there that day and got everything fixed in no time. Great guest service. Paul

  • My husband and I stayed at Annie's Pleasure Point Beach Cottage for a short New Year's get away, and we had such a lovely stay. The cottage is cute and cozy, and everything is very well-appointed. It's clear that a lot of thought went into the details and into making it a relaxing, welcoming, and all-around nice place to stay. The location in Pleasure Point is great. It's a cute neighborhood, and we loved being able to walk just a short distance to the water. The hot tub was a huge perk, as was having bikes to ride. It was easy and fun to ride down to the point and watch the surfers and then ride to Capitola or around Santa Cruz.

Annie was an excellent hostess - responsive and helpful without being at all intrusive, and very friendly. She made the stay feel even more comfortable and welcoming.

We loved the cottage and wish we could have stayed longer. We definitely hope to return!

  • My husband and I stayed in Annie's cottage with our four-year-old son for a week. It's in a perfect location: Pleasure Point! Quiet, super close to the beach, lovely to walk around or bike around, and perfect to relax in. We loved the hot tub, and being able to ride bikes around. The cottage is sweet and very comfortable.

  • We had a blast at the cottage. Walking distance to just enough - beach, coffee shops, bars, restaurants, but off the super-touristy path. Short drive to downtown. Relaxing oasis - we didn't want to leave! Hot rubbing under the stars was sublime. Thank you, Annie, for a wonderful stay.

  • The cottage was very cute, well-equipped, and worked well for us (2 adults plus a toddler). Both the front and back areas are fenced, which was good for the baby to walk around in. The hot tub worked well. The neighborhood is quite pretty, and there is a place with great breakfast burritos a couple of blocks away -- you can find it on Foursquare. Annie was a good host and good neighbor, and made sure we were settled in properly. This is a real surfing community, and we met a number of nice people even though we don't surf. You can also check out downtown Santa Cruz, which is an easy 15-minute drive along the water.

About
Hey Airbnb folks thanks for taking the time to check out my profile and the Pleasure Point beach cottage. I've now spent most of my life in Santa Cruz and I am a big fan of keeping the integrity of Pleasure Point, architecturally and as a community. My house was built in 1928 which is a big representation of the history of this area. As this area was once one of the last "surf ghettos" in California it is known by its sweet beach cottages and community feel. I pride myself on maintaining my cottage for others so they can experience old Santa Cruz. Traveling and surfing or maybe surfing and traveling are a few of the greatest loves in my life. There is so much to be learned when visiting other places, peoples and stepping outside our comfort zone. My love for surfing has taken me across the globe and I've definitely seen there is always an exchange in life: In order to get respect it is important to give respect. I've been humbled more than once in the ocean and on land. ;-) Please enjoy enjoy enjoy Santa Cruz and this sweet little cottage in the heart of Pleasure Point. Bienvenidos.
