I enjoyed my stay at Anna's apartment. The apartment was great - very clean, warm and welcoming, with a good kitchen and bathroom. My bedroom was a small single room as described, which was clean, with a comfortable bed and chest of drawers. It was an added bonus to have breakfast provided (cereal, toast, juice and tea/coffee) along with tea and coffee throughout the day.
Although I did not meet Anna, I had very good communication with her before and during my stay and she responded to my queries very promptly. My arrival and access to the house and my room was straightforward. The Flybus from Keflavik airport drops you at the Viking Hotel, a 10 minute walk from the apartment.
Anna was also kind enough to recommend some things to do in Hafnarfjordur, and I had a great time on a horse riding tour the lava fields with Ishestar ((website hidden)). I stayed a couple of days before moving on to Reykjavik, and Ishestar picked me up from Hafnarfjordur and dropped me off in Reyjavik after the tour, so I did not need to get the bus. However, the bus stops for Reykjavik are very close.
Although Hafnarfjordur and the location of the apartment was less rural than I had envisaged, the town is relaxed and quiet with some good restaurants and cafes and there are some nice walks into the surrounding countryside - I recommend a walk along the coast.
was staying for nights. I have got a very warm welcome form Anna and also her dog, great!
Had a fantastic time in Iceland and met also a very nice pair from California in the Guest house.
This was a wonderful location - Anna is a very helpful and responsive hostess. The accommodations were great and I enjoyed my time here. I had just a short time in Iceland and this was a great option on a budget. Will definitely stay here again if at all possible!
I had an enjoyable stay and everything about the place was just as advertised. It's easy to find and get to - a short 10-15 minute walk from the bus stop for the airport. You do have to let the bus companies know when to pick you up, though. The town is a nice place to visit.
The part I really liked was that she provides some basics for breakfast (coffee, tea, bread, cereal, and yogurt). This does have a shared kitchen and bathroom, so people need to be prepared to be polite and accommodating to other guests. I think in the majority of cases, though, that would not be a problem - and for the price, it's definitely worth it.
Anna was friendly and helpful. Check out time is 10 am, but I didn't have a flight until later in the afternoon. She was kind enough to let me keep my suitcase there while I went around to do some more photography.
I highly recommend this to anyone who will be staying in the Reykjavik area.
Anna's place is lovely to stay in if you are travelling the greater Reykjavik area or to and from Keflavik airport. All the rooms have access to a fully fitted kitchen and they share a bathroom. Everything is bright and well kept. The single room is small but comfortable. Anna was very flexible in regards to my arrival and departure time, thank you!
Anna was helpful and full of specific advice ahead of time that put my trip-planning mind at ease.
The room I stayed in was clean and lovely with a hot shower and stocked kitchen.
Closer to Keflavik, I would say, than the city center - so maybe better suited to a quick overnight. Getting to the city center by bus (without coins-my bad!) was a little complicated.
There is also a mini-mart and supermarket located down the street.
Very picturesque, as is all of Iceland!
