This house has a story. It is situated in historic town of St. Lawrence, a quiet town of 1200 people. Scenic beauty surrounds the town on the southern tip of The Burin Peninsula. Close to the ocean, walking trails, beaches, museum and heritage Museum. Guided tours available year round.

The space
You will have access to the full house and outside space. The decks have southern exposure. There’s a harbour/ocen view from most of the windows.

Guest access
The whole house and grounds are your home away from home to enjoy. This area has little tourist traffic and there is a huge inventory of outdoor possibilities. A well developed trail system, beaches, coastline, seabirds, eagles, shipwreck sites, mountains, hiking, biking, geology, mining history, fishing heritage and a working fishing port that creates new scenes with the changing of the tides and seasons.

Other things to note
I also operate a tour company that offers Historical Tours along the coastal trail to Chambers Cove. The tour tells the stories of the people who faced such adversity but survived and thrived. Naval Disaster during WWII put 3 American war ships aground on these shores. Heroic actions by the locals saved 186 lives but unfortunately 203 souls were lost. The hike goes through seascapes, geological features, mine workings, abandoned settlements and unique natural beauty. Rated #1 Historical Tour on Trip Adviser.

This is a hikers paradise. The 3.5 km Chamber Cove trail and the 5 km Cape Trail are within 15 minutes of the house. Great photography of seascapes and landscapes abound. St. Lawrence is a working fishing town. crab, lobster, codfish, sea cucumber and welk are processed at the local Ocean Choice Multi-species Fish Plant. The town also has a mining industry. We have been mining here for 90 years and today Canada Fluorspar operates a mine continuing the tradition. Our unique geology is easy to access along the shoreline in the area.

I am a semi-retired professional that worked 25+ years in the offshore construction world of oil and gas. I am in the process of planning retirement and things to do with the extra time. I am a hobby beekeeper. I am a novice gardener and have a small greenhouse. I am a novice cook and healthy food student. My wife and I are enjoying the transition from full time careers to a less hectic pace. We have enjoyed the Airbnb experience very much. We thrive on positive feedback and want every guest to enjoy the St. Lawrence experience at our home.
