The Space

If your looking for a quiet retreat that's located in the midst of all the city's activity, this is your destination. The house has been recently renovated to a contemporary, eclectic southwestern feel. Our huge front patio is perfect for hanging out and grilling and our large backyard is complete with a tire swing, hammock and climbable century old live oak.
The interior of the house is finished with unique earthen plaster walls and many custom architectural finishes designed and fabricated by the home owners. The open farm-style kitchen is great for cooking for crews. The dining and living areas provide plenty of relaxation space, plentiful natural light and a piano to boot.
The main bedroom has a queen bed, the guest bedroom has a queen bed, the living room has a pull out sofa bed and there is also plenty of floor space for sleeping. Due to our expanding family, we also have a crib in the guest room and a pack'n play available for young kids.
We are located within a mile to a main grocery store, Lady Bird Lake hike and bike trail, various bus routes and many of the bars and eateries on E. 6th.
If you're interested in getting around town by bike, we have two bikes available for $10/bike/day.

Check In
  • We had an amazing stay at Martina's fabulous East Austin home! The house was perfectly located for easy access to all our East Austin favorites (Takoba, Justine's, Vintage Heart). Martina made check-in/check-out super easy, and was kind enough to let us drop by later in the day to pick up our laundry. Definitely at the top of my list for a place to stay next time I'm in Austin!

  • Martina's home was everything we expected it to be; it's located in a GREAT location, stocked with enough linens and home appliances for our 2 night stay, and every room was clean to perfection. Not to mention, her chickens are the cutest things ever! They're super friendly and fun to watch while you lay in the hammock in the backyard. Thanks for a great stay!

  • Can't say enough nice things about Martina and her home. The house was absolutely perfect, a wonderfully cozy getaway while we were visiting for sxsw. There's plenty of room, and Martina provided everything we needed for our stay. The back yard was a bonus, as was the front patio which was great for relaxing at night. The house was a short stroll from East Sixth Street too. After we arrived, we easily got around on foot all weekend. Can't wait to make it back, for sxsw or a visit at a more chill time of year.

  • Such a great location and beautifully designed and individual house. We loved the decor and the house was cosy and had great air conditioning, which is needed in Austin. The chickens in teh garden made it feel like a proper home and they were great to hang out with first thing in teh morning. Having bikes at the house was a major bonus too. Would come back here in a hot minute!! Cheers guys x

  • This house is a beautiful sanctuary! Martina and Brent are so very talented and you see it in every detail of the design, construction and decoration. It's also super convenient to everything you want to do in East Austin and Downtown, just as advertised. Love this place, would recommend it to anyone.

  • Martina and Brett are great people and great hosts. Wonderful communication, clear directions.

I loved their funky, artistic place in East Austin. It was a relaxing respite and a wonderful base for exploring Austin. The house is charming and spacious, and the artistic decorations by the two artist owners made for a wonderful environment.

Couldn't ask for better hosts. If you like a cool, funky place, this one will make you happy.

I am an Austinite, my husband is from Nashville. We are products of two people who grew up in friendly, active mid-sized cities that love music and fun. A hobby we have co-discovered together that we love to take self-guided tours in abandoned building.
