The owners were very nice, and greeted us upon arrival. We had some trouble finding the location, the directions may need to be updated before the next person arrives. The neighborhood is not ideal for a group of women travelers but the house is gated and we felt safe there. A car is a necessity, the nice beach was not as close to walk to and visiting the rainforest (about 7 miles from the home) is a must see. The beach about 1.5 miles from the house (headed toward the kioscos) costs $4 to get into and was so so worth it. They have a pina colada bar, cheap beers and a cute gift shop, plus its very clean and beautiful view of the rainforest. Book the bio bay tours in advance, at least two days, because otherwise its impossible to get in. The glass bottom boat for bio bay tours was recommended and any place online to book it is legit (it is highly regulated). The kioscos were interesting, ceviche hut has amazing shrimp and fish ceviche and ay Bonita had amazing pizza. We enjoyed great drinks most places at the kioscos and liked Tattoo as well (they offer a cheap cab service and beer to go). All the stray animals were very friendly. We had Sunday brunch at lluvia (driving distance, about 3 minutes) and it was somewhere you must go! The salt water pool at the house was very clean, nice and refreshing! It was a great trip, I would research the area before booking to see for yourself and find the fun things to do nearby!
This location was easy to find and close to the beautiful river and ocean. It had a lot of "green space" around it and the Coqui frog symphony at night was amazing!
Totally enjoyed our experience with Cedric & Socorro! We arrived a little later than we imagined, as we had a lot of fun at the nearby Luquillo Kioskos.
The place was a little hard to find, but Socorro was always a phone call away & she stayed on the line until we reached Del Mar. She was very warm & inviting upon our arrival. The property is gorgeous & spacious, filled with tropical plants & trees. The surroundings make for a wonderful night-time soundtrack, which we enjoyed while laying out by the pool, looking up at the stars.
The apartment is exactly as the pictures depict! Comfy, bright, & spacious!
Our only regret is that we couldn't spend more time with Cedric, Socorro, & their adorable animals! :)
Highly recommend staying here if you plan on visiting the kioskos or the rain forest!
Cedric and Socorro were great hosts and their speedy response time to our reservation request was very much appreciated since it was a last minute booking when our original spot fell through. The apartment was large and spacious and even had air-conditioning for night-time use.
I had a wonderful time staying here! Socorro and her husband were kind and warm and gave great recommendations. They were around if I needed anything but I was free to do my own thing. I spent a lot of time floating in the pool in the evenings once I returned from my adventures and it was splendid. The grounds are lovely and the apartment was just what I needed - perhaps a little less shiny and more lived in than the pictures, but isn't everything? No problems at all. I can't wait to return to Puerto Rico and stay here again!
This was our second year coming to the Eco lodge in playa fortuna. We love it so much. The hosts are the sweetest people. We love their dogs Rufus and Zero! The place was great for two couples and the pool and hot tub are an added bonus. It a great location to the rainforest and the beach. We will for sure be back again. Thank you!

About the Host, Cedric & Socorro
Hi, I'm Cedric, you can call me Ced.
I'm a percussionist, drummer and music teacher. I'm an artisan whenever I get my hands on some driftwood or beads and string, and a college student. Talking about myself is not my best quality so hopefully we'll just meet in person. I love all types of arts, nature, animals and meeting new people. I really like learning about other cultures, their music and ways of life. I know my way around the island VERY well and I'll be more than happy to help in any way I can! Adventures and other fun outdoors activities are something I try to enjoy often so feel free to ask, "What's there to do around here?" and I'll draw you a map to the Rainforest and on the way you can stop at the zip lining park or go horse back riding at the beach.
If I'm out at college during your stay my mom, Socorro, will be here to welcome you and assist you in anyway she can. We live in the house next door.
Socorro is a hard working wife, mother of two young men, massage therapist , nature lover, animal lover. Sixteen years in the Hotel Industry allowed her to dream about a Lodging place where guests can enjoy more than a roof and good food, but also experience our warm, rich, fun culture.
We enjoy long walks on the beach, kayaking and lite cooking (rather eat out any day). We live on premises, so we are available to our guests 24/7. We enjoy bike riding and the movies. YES, we have our outside movie projector ready for any given evening. Popcorn too. We are located a block away from the beach, two blocks away from the Mameyes River (great Kayaking area) and 25 minutes away from one of the 3 Bio-luminescent bays of the Island (only five known in the world). We are 5 minutes away from a Ranch that offers Horseback riding, Go Karts and Fourtracks rentals. Oh yes; we always have coconut water!!!
