Interaction with Guests
As much or as little as our guests need us to be. We love spending time with our guests but respect their privacy. We're always available to our guests.
Playa Fortuna is a humble fisherman's village of the coast in Luquillo where you can walk around safely at any time and enjoy talking to helpful neighbors and local vendors.
To best enjoy the island, we recommend renting a car but we do have a Taxi driver for your convenience.
Other Things to Note
We're an eco-friendly establishment working hard everyday to have our business running the healthiest way possible for the planet.
Be clean, respectful to others on property. Common sense is always a good practice. No jumping, yelling running indoors or too loud music. No smoking on premises allowed. Please follow common swimming pool rules for everyone's enjoyment. When in doubt, ask. We live next door and are here to assist you and make your stay a memorable one. There is no central air. We have provide air conditioning in the bedrooms for our guests comfort at bedtime. We strongly encourage our guests to use them for that purpose. High energy costs in the Island does not allow us the luxury of central air. We are an Eco friendly property.
Wonderful place to stay in east PR. Great launch pad for Luquillo Beach, El Yunque, and Bio Bay tours. Lots of space, clean, and coqui frogs singing a medley at night. Easy walk to the neighborhood beach with cool river view and quick drive to the bigger town beach. Parking within the grounds was very nice.
I have stayed in this property several times, asn every time we are very pleased. Socorro and Cedric are very friendly, and are always ready to help us in any way they can. The cabin is not luxurious, but perfectly comfortable. They hae kayaks that guests can use and take both to the beach or river. It is a fantastic experience!
We really enjoyed our stay. The apartment was clean and comfortable and the location was convenient (just be sure to follow the directions the hosts provide, (website hidden) maps got us a little lost at first). But the real highlight was the hosts. They were warm, friendly and incredibly helpful. They recommended a great cafe and an amazing swimming hole in El Yunque that was one of the highlights of our trip. We would stay there again.
Socorro was a perfect host: very helpful with recommendations and tips. The apartment was as it looks in the photos. We slept well with the AC which cooled down the bedroom quickly. We couldn't walk to the nearby beach because of high tides but the nearby (about 5 minutes by car) downtown Luquillo beach was great for swimming and playing. The neighborhood is typical for Puerto Rico: mostly gated compounds with nicer and shabbier homes side by side. We also highly recommend you book a massage with Socorro! A vacation must!
Cedric & Socorro were great hosts! Very responsive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the area and things to do while visiting. Their place is centrally located to Luquillo beach, El Yunque rainforest, and surrounding restaurants/bars. I wish we could have stayed longer! I'd definitely recommend this place to future visitors. Thanks again! Kerry
We loved our stay on Socorro's beautiful property, only a 10-minute drive from El Yunque. We only had one night in Luquillo and wished we had many more. The apartment was well stocked for cooking, beach gear and anything you would need for a longer stay. The beach is stunning and we had it completely to ourselves. The neighborhood is tucked between the highway and the beach so it was definitely helpful to have a rental car to get to restaurants and the rainforest. My friend had a massage and highly recommended it!
I got a chance to meet both Edwin and Socorro and they were both lovely. This apartment was great! Very well provisioned and exactly and pictured. Socorro gave us a thorough walkthrough of the amenities and offered suggestions for exploring the Luquillo area. We would definitely stay here again.

Hi, I'm Cedric, you can call me Ced.
I'm a percussionist, drummer and music teacher. I'm an artisan whenever I get my hands on some driftwood or beads and string, and a college student. Talking about myself is not my best quality so hopefully we'll just meet in person. I love all types of arts, nature, animals and meeting new people. I really like learning about other cultures, their music and ways of life. I know my way around the island VERY well and I'll be more than happy to help in any way I can! Adventures and other fun outdoors activities are something I try to enjoy often so feel free to ask, "What's there to do around here?" and I'll draw you a map to the Rainforest and on the way you can stop at the zip lining park or go horse back riding at the beach.
If I'm out at college during your stay my mom, Socorro, will be here to welcome you and assist you in anyway she can. We live in the house next door.
Socorro is a hard working wife, mother of two young men, massage therapist , nature lover, animal lover. Sixteen years in the Hotel Industry allowed her to dream about a Lodging place where guests can enjoy more than a roof and good food, but also experience our warm, rich, fun culture.
We enjoy long walks on the beach, kayaking and lite cooking (rather eat out any day). We live on premises, so we are available to our guests 24/7. We enjoy bike riding and the movies. YES, we have our outside movie projector ready for any given evening. Popcorn too. We are located a block away from the beach, two blocks away from the Mameyes River (great Kayaking area) and 25 minutes away from one of the 3 Bio-luminescent bays of the Island (only five known in the world). We are 5 minutes away from a Ranch that offers Horseback riding, Go Karts and Fourtracks rentals. Oh yes; we always have coconut water!!!
