  • My husband and I had a cosy and lovely time at Murphy & Teigh's Casita. The Casita is clean, comfortable for a couple, and had everything we needed for our almost two-month stay while we transitioned into living in L.A. The Casita is conveniently located on a quiet street, and is walking distance to restaurants, bars, a movie theatre, and Trader Joe's supermarket. There is plently of street parking for when you return. Teigh was a lovely and concerned host and always available whenever we had questions. I would definitely recommend the Casita to friends and family.

  • Staying at the casita was lovely and peaceful. Teigh was very available via email or text and let us know when we could check in earlier than expected. The room was very private and came stocked with extra towels and toiletries. Overall a great place to stay if you want to avoid the bustle of LA and have lots of privacy, while still being minutes away from Venice Blvd and the rest of LA.

  • This little private Casita was PERFECT, and although we didn't get to meet Murphy, Teigh was an absolute joy meet and brilliant to communicate with. Beautiful place, quiet, picuresque, private & clean - cannot wait to visit LA again, thankyou so, so much! Cherry & Ian

  • Our stay in the casita was wonderful. Murphy and Teigh was great hosts, it was easy to communicate, a lot of privacy and we got everything that we needed and more. As a couple traveling around in California our stay in the casita fit perfect in to our plans. At an affordable price we got the most amazing stay during our visit and are very grateful for the hospitality from Murphy and Teigh. It was easy finding a parking spot on the street and easy to drive around in the area. Murphy and Teigh gave us some good tips on restaurants, stores and more near the Casita which helped us a lot. It is a really cozy neighborhood with a loot of good restaurants in a walking distance. I would highly recommend this to couples traveling to Los Angeles and I will definitely recommend this to my friends. Hopefully we can come back soon!

  • Garden Casita is a faboulous private house and provides a great experience, at a very affordable price. Murphy and Teigh were excellent, they showed the greatest hospitality my husband and I have ever experienced. They were extremely helpful and very friendly. In fact, we arrived at LA one day earlier than planned. Teigh and Murphy were gracious enough to allow us to start our stay earlier.

Casita was very lovely, private, romantic and inspiring for the relaxation after busy work day. The bathroom was roomy, bright and fulfilled all expectations. Everything was very clean and well serviced. They say: "Location, Location, Location", and this Garden Casita offers amazing location close to many attractions and transportation: Culver City Centre, bus stops, Metro, restaurants, Sony Pictures, and gorgeous Venice Beach.

Once you have stayed here, you want to come back (soon).

  • My week-long stay at the casita was perfect. I had a busy week of work scheduled during my stay and was looking for a quiet, clean, neat place of daily respite. The casita is tucked back from the street and is very clean and tidy and well taken care of. Murphy and Teigh are totally lovely, and the enitre experience was very smooth and positive. Street parking was also very easy, and the property is only a half-mile from the charming revitalized area of downtown Culver City, so I even got to explore a bit.

  • My five weeks at the Garden Casita went by very fast, and I loved coming back to this peaceful and quiet spot. Teigh and Murphy are excellent hosts who are easy to get along with. They were always there to give helpful tips and truly care about the well-being of their guests. Thanks for the great time!

  • La Casita es muy bonita! Cheerful, tranquil, and clean, it’s just blocks away from bustling Culver Boulevard, which is home to cafes and movie history. Teigh and Murphy are the most gracious hosts. And a bonus, La Casita is right near Baldwin Hill, a moderate hike whose peak has among the loveliest views of greater LA. At La Casita, a bit of paradise awaits you.

  • Had a great stay here, lovely little casita and perfect for our needs. A really handy location and easy to get to places we wanted to visit, Santa Monica, Venice, Getty Centre etc. Murphy and Teigh provided some good info and tips. Not familiar with LA and it was great to find out about some of the history of Culver City and it's links with the great days of Hollywood, including Charlie Chaplin losing the Culver Hotel to John Wayne in a poker game (what the hell was he thinking, had he ever seen John Wayne lose a game of cards in any of his films?). Culver City seems a great place, a pity we weren't there longer to get a better feel for the place. Lots of great places to eat and drink (recommend cocktails in the bar of the Culver Hotel, burgers and happy hour Margaritas in Roccos and salads, when the guilt of the aforementioned excess kicks in, at Tender Greens). Only got the chance to have a chat to M and T at the end of our stay, seem a lovely couple and would definitely recommend the casita to anyone looking for a place to stay near LA.

  • We loved the location of this Casita. The Casita itself was very cozy and the bathroom and kitchenette were stocked with all we needed to "live" there for almost a month even with an 8 month old infant! (Of course, this does not include food.) The family is wonderfully accommodating and friendly, and made us feel right at home--this was our favorite feature of the Casita. The only thing that I would do differently and the reason I gave this rental 4 of 5 stars is because we were there for almost a month and the Casita was only cleaned prior to our arrival. I personally arranged and paid for a third party to come and clean the Casita about half way through our stay. If I had it to do over again, I would have negotiated that with the owners ahead of time. I understand this was not a hotel, and room service and cleaning were not available on a daily basis. Truly, this wasn't what I was looking for anyway. However, for the length of our stay, I think a weekly cleaning would have been fair. **Overall a great experience that I hope to repeat soon!. Would definitely recommend and would definitely return!

About
Hey ya! I'm a dad and a husband and a writer and director and an eater of food. (Well, OK. Most people are at least that last thing.) We want to make sure you feel welcome and to give you a calm, usually quiet place to call home away from home. We may invite you to have a drink, or enjoy some food, or share a conversation in the garden. But for the most part, we leave you to relax and enjoy your stay.
