This is a dog-friendly vacation rental and we provide dog towels, a dog bed and some doggie snacks.
First off, we hope that you will have a relaxing and enjoyable stay. In fact, we hope the Pocket House feels like home for you. Having said that, we have a few rules.
- Please do not smoke in the house or on the property.
- Please respect quiet hours of 10pm - 7am as we are close to neighbors.
- Use the washer/dryer as you need, but we'd prefer you wait until there is a full load to preserve water and energy.
- Let us know if you're interested in some fresh, organic herbs/veggies/fruit and we can open up our side yard for you to pick a little something.
- Please note, there is a $40/dog/visit fee. We love dogs and we love it when guests want to bring their dogs. But, please do not leave pooches unattended under any circumstances. We've had some problems with barking and scratching.
George was more than accommodating on our recent trip to Portland. The home is super cute and comfortable. This is a home in someone's backyard but there's a privacy fence dividing the two properties. Semi-walkable to neighborhood restaurants. The road is a little busy from the loft side, so be sure to use the fan provided to help block road noise, especially during commuting. But how much time does one really spend inside anyhow? Go explore Portland! The only thing I may add is a microwave. It was great to be able to do laundry before traveling home. I would definitely stay here again.
We had a wonderful stay in Portland at the Pocket House. George and Nina were even more friendly and welcoming as the PH itself and the space they've created for guests is perfect for a quiet getaway in a great urban neighborhood setting. The neighborhood around the PH was full of great places to window shop, feast on great tasting wholesome food, and enjoy a leisurely evening over some local beer and wine. I will recommend the PH to anyone looking to stay in portland and plan to return in the future!
My sister and I stayed in the Pocket House for four nights and loved it! It was cozy and modern, a perfect space for us to kick back in. It's an easy walk to neighborhood cafés and eateries. We hosted local family to dine in with us and the tiny kitchen was a bonus. We hope we're lucky enough to stay there again soon!
George and Nina were fantastic hosts. They checked in with us when we arrived, gave some great tips on where to eat and drink and then left us to our devices! The pocket house is really private, so you really feel like you have your own little house in Portland. It was perfect for our girls weekend away. We'll DEFINITELY be back!
The Hip and Eco house was perfect for us! We loved the area-close to cool cafes, bars and restaurants, but also really peaceful and quiet. It was exactly as it appeared in the photos and description.
George and his wife were super friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Portland and we would absolutely stay here again!
George and Nina made us feel very welcome. When our poodle was barking in the middle of the night because she saw a cat, they were very understanding about it. They are lovely people and were considerate of our needs. The house is just as it appears in the photos. The neighborhood has great nearby stores and restaurants. It is a transitional area and not what I expected. The main problems we had were the tiny refrigerator as we did not eat out every night. Also, it was hotter than usual so some nights we were very uncomfortable. Of course, that is not the fault of the hosts, but if you need AC this is not the place. Other than that the pocket house is pretty, modern and cozy. The bed is comfortable and there is a cute loft. The wood finishes are beautiful and the hosts could not have been nicer. It is a great location for walking around on Alberta, Mississippi and Williams. It is near Fremont and Alberta park where I hung out a lot.
