  • Just a wonderful little home! We just love staying here! Perfect! Thanks for having us again.

  • The Pocket House was our very first Airbnb experience and it was so incredible that I don't think we'll ever stay at a hotel again. George and Nina were fabulous hosts from the moment we booked until the moment we sadly had to pack and come home. The house is astoundingly beautiful- our favorite part was listening to the rain hit all of the sky lights and floor to ceiling windows while drinking wine. It was like a home away from home, but with more peace and quiet. George and Nina took the time to help us pick out some great places to visit and eat, and even made sure we had fresh local coffee and milk in the kitchenette when we arrived. Best vacation ever- we can't wait to come back again!

  • I absolutely loved staying with George and Nina. Their guest house, the Pocket House, is the neatest thing I've seen in a long time. I'm so very happy to have had the opportunity to stay there, and to have them as my hosts. It was perfection! I highly recommend them. :0)

  • Cool, comfortable space with a beautiful urban garden as your view. Convenient location, within walking distance to a hip little area with good restaurants, places for coffee and stores worth browsing. We found Nina and George to be warm and friendly. Our family of four (2 kids under 3, and 2 adults) loved our stay at the Pocket House and will definitely stay there again!

  • Great place, great neighborhood, great hosts. Being in a residential neighborhood gave us a much more "inside" experience of Portland than a hotel ever could hope for. We wanted to be able to see Portland as though we lived there. George and Nina gave us bus and trolley info, food and where to go recommendations. We rented bicycles (our 4 year in a trailer) rode to the Japanese gardens. The Pocket house provided a landing place for us, so we could eat in or walk to nearby eateries. Our daughter could spread out her favorite toys and climb up and down and up and down the loft ladder. A relaxing stay, George and Nina are waaay cool hosts. It was a perfect first visit to Portland. We will be back to see more.

  • Spent 3 nights at the Pocket House and we enjoyed our stay very much. The house was comfortable (we had 5 people for one of our nights there without any problems), and the location was great being just a short walk/bike ride/drive away from some nice shops, restaurants and brewpubs.

It did rain consistently while we were there, but that is too be expected for that time of year in Portland. And I do have to say that it was quite pleasant sleeping to the sound of the rain lightly striking the roof and skylight, as well as having a warm cup of coffee in the cold mornings while watching the rain from the rocking chair on the covered porch.

I would recommend the Pocket House for anyone who plans to stay in Portland.

  • We had a great time staying in the Pocket House! George and Nina were very attentive and the house was a delight--spacious, comfortable, warm and well-appointed. We hope to have the opportunity to return as we love the neighborhood and the accommodations.

  • We stayed in the Pocket House for our honeymoon, and thought it was totally dreamy. When we arrived the doors were open, the fresh air was breezing through and the light fall light was magical. Staying at the pocket house is like having your own little cabin in the city, except you have all the amenities of staying in a house. The place was clean, inviting, the mattress was comfortable and the bedding was amazing. George and Nina offered us suggestions on what to do, where to go, and were extremely welcoming. The pocket house is close to many amazing restaurants, coffee shops, food trucks and little shops. Alberta Street is a short walk where you can get great food and a bike can quickly take you over the bridge into down town, and many other districts. It's a short trip form the airport by taxi. Staying in the Pocket House helped us explore Portland, and is just a great little example of why Portland is so awesome and why we fell in love with the city! My only complaint would be that we had to leave!
