Châteauponsac, rightly called Pearl of the Gartempe, holds many treasures forged by the centuries. Strolling along the narrow streets of this walled city, built on a rocky outcrop between the Gartempe and the Semme, history and old stone enthusiasts can discover medieval monuments (Faubourg du Moustiers and its houses of the XV and XVI centuries, Benedictine priory ...), a mansion of the 18th century. Two panoramas allow to have a global vision on the city and the valley of Gartempe. One of these panoramas has been chosen to illustrate the credits of the series broadcast on France 3 "A French village". The must when you go to Châteauponsac is to visit the René Bauberot Museum, which is one of the most interesting ethnographic museums in France. The booklet "Let us discover Châteauponsac" will allow children (from 6 years old) to discover the history and secrets Châtelauds playfully through puzzles and games.
