The space
Perfect place for a couple or family with kids, or even a small reunion or gathering with friends. It is the perfect base camp for a floating trip on the Buffalo River, hiking, or rock climbing. Very quiet and peaceful. Kitchen is fully equipped for cooking family meals and the dining room table is long enough for everyone. There are games, puzzles, movies, and books. There is a Roku enabled TV.

The main floor of the cabin is the second floor. There you will find the kitchen, dining room, living room, two bedrooms with queen-sized beds, and a full bathroom. Downstairs is the laundry, a second smaller bathroom with a shower, an alcove, and the third bedroom with a queen bed and a twin bunkbed. There are 2 twin beds in the lower entry area. There are many windows and lots of sunlight. Relax on the deck and gaze up at the many stars. We have a large charcoal grill on the deck, please bring your own charcoal.
Newton County is a dry county meaning no alcohol for sale so bring your own.

Neighborhood highlights

We are on a quiet dirt road that ends at the boundary of the Buffalo National River Park land. Walk down our dirt road and you reach hiking and horse trails, one leading all the way down to the Buffalo (a long hike). Easiest access to the river is a short 2 mile drive down to Steel Creek, Ponca low water bridge and Kyle's Landing are also close.
Jasper, the county seat of Newton, is where you will find gas, groceries, restaurants, stores, galleries, and s seasonal farmers market. You can also find gas, groceries, and sandwiches in Ponca. Float trip outfitters can be found in Ponca, including our favorite "Lost Valley Canoes". There is a new outfitter closer to the cabin in Low Gap, "Rio Buffalo Outfitter." Be sure to visit the Elk center in Ponca and look for Elk in Boxley Valley. We are also two miles from Horseshoe Canyon Ranch which has some of the best rock climbing in the state. They also have a zip line .
