About this listing
The full apartment is yours with your own entrance, bedroom, private bath and kitchen! It's close to NYC (our daily commute), near the Grove St PATH. Great for an NYC launching pad or for visiting relatives in the area!
This garden level apartment was recently renovated. It has three windows and a private entrance. Air-conditioning and radiant heating. A queen-size bed with a couch large enough to sleep one. An air mattress can be made available on request to sleep four guests maximum. The TV is connected to WiFi and can play Netflix.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, table and cookware.
There is a backyard area, normally off-limits since we use it for various projects and kids activities. We can always make exceptions to make sure it's safe, just let us know!
Interaction with Guests
This is an owner occupied two family building. There will usually be someone on hand.
We are in a historic district. The neighborhood is active and safe with a number of businesses, restaurants and bars nearby.
May to November farmers market is very lively with local goods on Mondays and Thursdays by Grove Street Path square.
While you may dine in and we have large grocery stores nearby, a variety of places and cuisines are within walking distance.
For breakfast, of course there is a nearby Starbucks, but also the Choc-O-Pain and Dames Coffee which are even closer. 30 Acres, Left Bank, LITM, Skinners Loft, Roman Nose restaurants are all in 5 minutes walks.
We are located 30 minutes from Newark airport, a $35 cab ride was a recent rate. The nearby Grove Street PATH station allows you to choose to go to downtown or midtown with the World Trade Center just two stops away.
If driving, we are a few minutes away from the Holland tunnel.
There are nearby car and bike rentals.
We do not have dedicated parking, however, parking is available in the street, but subject to street cleaning rules. The street cleaner comes four times a week at approximately 1:30PM. It can be a bit of a challenge, but if you can parallel park then you can usually find a spot within a few blocks in about 10 minutes.
All that said, tickets and boots happen particularly to non-residents.
No smoking, please.
There is a no shoes policy inside the unit, there is shoe storage available next to the door to hold them.
Please keep the place clean. Please advise if there is anything missing, anything is soiled or suggestions for improvement.
Jayson's house is a nice cozy place extremely close to grove street path station with connections to WTC and TIMES square centre.
There are few parks, groceries and a lot of eateries within walking distance of it which makes it very convenient.
Jayson and his wife are very friendly and helpful normally respond within 30 minutes. The house is neat, well maintained, very comfortable and well stocked.
I will recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay at approachable distance to NYC.
This is the second time we used the apartment for a stay in the New York/New Jersey area. The flat is comfortably, clean and well equipped, the hosts are excellent and the location is good. Highly recommend.
Great option for a trip to NYC! Everything exactly as described, and Jayson and Tulay were great. The neighbourhood seemed safe, even when we were coming back late at night. It's only about 25 minutes on the PATH to Manhattan, and the PATH station is very close. The only thing I would mention is that getting there from the Newark airport requires quite a few connections on public transit and it's a whopping $60 (with $5 surcharge if you pay with a credit card) for a taxi. In terms of the accommodation I would definitely stay again, the transit to and from the airport is just something to keep in mind/budget for.
My two kids and I spent two weeks in this apartment. It was very comfortable and practical, perfectly clean, and quiet. Jayson and Tulay are great hosts and will be quick to respond to you if you need anything. Jersey City is a great place to stay, and Jayson and Tulay's apartment is very close to the PATH for easy travel to Manhattan. We loved it!
The apartment was very comfortable and very clean. The location is very convenient near restaurants, small grocery stores, coffee houses and, most important, transportation to Manhattan. The owners are warm and responsive. We recommend the apartment if you are going to Jersey City.
Jason was a really nice Host, he answered my questions quickly and make feel confortable in his place. The place is totally clean and big, very convenient, there're a lot of restaurants and bars around and the PATH station is only 2 blocks away. I really recommend this apartment it has Netflix, the kitchen is big and the bed super confortable. Thanks Jason, I rally enjoy the place.
host gave us the key...it was cold&snowing so didn't interact too much-
the neighborhood seemed o.k.
