Rose Cottage sits privately within its own garden on our Karaka farm, offering couples a quiet, romantic escape surrounded by birdsong, orchard views, and open countryside. The feeling is of wonderful seclusion, yet close to Auckland Airport and the city.

The outdoor bath:

The double outdoor bath is the heart of the experience - completely private, surrounded by greenery, and perfect for stargazing or a slow evening with a glass of wine. Many guests say it is the highlight of their stay.

Sensor lighting ensures any arrivals in the dark have lit access to the cottage.

Other things to note
Rose Cottage is located on a working farm in Karaka. There are farm animals, friendly dogs and electric fences, please leave all gates as you find them if you choose to explore beyond the main garden.

We have 1 ha of covenanted native bush that is teeming with bird life and has a deep pond. Feel free to explore and please stick to the trails. Some guests have been planting a native tree to mark their visit, if this is something you would like to do please get in touch, we supply the tree.

We ask that you exercise common sense when walking around the farm and note you are exploring at your own risk. Message me when you are here if you need guidance on where you can explore safely within our property.

The miniature ponies, Dotty and Bella, may be grazing next door, if you want to snuggle them let me know and I will bring them closer. Carrots supplied on request!

Escape to the countryside! We are located in a tranquil, rural, farming environment that is only 32 km from Auckland Airport and 44 km from Auckland CBD.

There are wonderful delicatessen options close by at Paddock to Pantry and Stonebridge Market for supplies to prepare your own meals or we can recommend our favourite restaurants nearby.

Local cafes; The Karaka General Store, Lavender Farm Cafe and The Butchers Shop Cafe are quality cafes. Ethereal restaurant at Double Tree Hilton is a 12-15 minute drive from Rose Cottage. Also a 12-15 minute drive are all the common fast food providers and some unique convenient eateries to eat in or takeaway. Pukekohe is approximately 20 minutes drive and has wonderful restaurants such as Blue Ox Babe and The Monarch.

EV Charging station is available at Kingseat Fruit and Veges which is approx. 6 km from Rose Cottage. Maybe enjoy a real fruit ice cream while you charge.

The service centres of Pukekohe and Waiuku are 18km away. Clark’s Beach is 11km away. The black sand beach, Kariotahi, is 25 km away and a stop in Waiuku for fish and chips to eat on the beach is a local tradition.

If you travel to the east, Ardmore and Clevedon are close. Hunua Falls and Regional Park is just 34 km away and is popular for hiking and picnics. Travelling south, Hampton Downs is a 48 km drive for motor sport enthusiasts, carry on another 54 km and you are in Hamilton Waikato. Hobbiton is a nice day out, about 1.5 hours drive.
