Highly recommended place for stay in Melaka, especially for family. The house is well equipped and the owner is very fast in responding to our query, even help us to solve the Astro problem. Love the simple yet adequate furniture & deco, and the house is very clean. There is some distance from the house to Jonker Street but it is not a problem for us as we are driving. Will definitely come back for our next visit :)
We enjoyed our stay with the comfortable bed and newly renovated house. Location is great, near to Jonker Street and walking distance to many restaurants. Everything is perfect for our short trip :) Highly recommended.
The location was good and was not too hard to find. The rooms are comfy and just nice to fit the four us. Despite not being able to meet Bernard in person, Bernard and his family were receptive to calls and even sent some toilet rolls and water to the place while we were out. Overall a pleasant stay.
We stayed at Bernard's house for 2 nights in Malacca, and after our experience, I can only wish that the stay was much longer. From the very start till the end of our trip, Bernard was an extremely gracious and helpful host, providing us tips and local information on the delicious eating joints and places to visit in Malacca, and going out of his way to make sure we have a fantastic experience in Malacca. The house itself is very comfortable, secure, and equipped with all equipment one needs to have a homely stay in Malacca. The location of the house suited us perfectly, as it is was just a 10 minute walk from the old city (jonker street), and yet , situated in a residential neighborhood that is quiet and at the same time surrounded by many eating joints (some of which are even operating at late in the night).
The beds were extremely comfortable, kitchen was very well equipped, bathrooms were spotless, wifi was fast and reliable, and the whole house was maintained really well. The free parking, bikes and a nice front area along with a washing machine made it very convenient for us to have a hassle-free stay in Melaka. I would highly recommend Bernard's place to stay not only for the fantastic and homely accommodation (great value for money), but also for the fact that Bernard is a great host, who really ensures that his guests have the best experience possible. We would definitely love to stay again, when we visit Melaka next.
Mr Bernard is very friendly although I didn't meet him. The house is nice, but have a lot of mosquitoes during the night. Overall not bad for family to stay.
Bernard is a great host who showed me his favourite and well-known local eats, and offered many useful tips for travelling within Malacca city. His place is well-furnished, clean and convenient (I had a car).
Bernard was such a delightful and helpful host. He was willing to drive us to his favourite dining spots and even gave us a surprise breakfast treat to a restaurant in Malacca that he has been eating since he was a young child.
When we asked him where we could get coconuts (for my baby boy), he kindly gave us 2 coconuts that he got from the night market. Imagine our surprise when we saw 2 coconuts placed in the living room! The place was really nice and well maintained. It was not very far from Jonker Street and it was a great neighbourhood. Bernard provided us with towels and toiletries so it was a really nice touch.
Also the beds were super comfy. We slept wonderfully well!
Bernard made us feel at home in Malacca, the house was spotless, well cleaned and we were comfortable for our baby boy to roam around the house safely. It was a pleasant experience and we would definitely come back again. It was such a pity that we didn't have enough time to discover Malacca properly!
