Such a lovely house in one of my favorite neighborhoods in Austin. Gretchen is a spectacular host - kind, a great communicator and a pleasure to deal with. Hope to stay here again!
Gretchen and Ben were extremely friendly and welcoming. Their home is the perfect getaway to mix work and leisure.
Perfect location for SXSW. Walkable to everything, yet far enough away from all the noise. Perfect.
Gretchen was great! She was there to greet us when we arrived and was very hospitable. The neighborhood is great too! My friends and I did ACL and it was great to be walking distance from the festivities.
We really enjoyed Gretchen and Ben's house. It's super cute, very well laid out, extremely comfortable and really well designed and furnished. It's convenient for downtown and SoCo and in a very quiet and safe feeling leafy area of the city.
Gretchen and Ben were lovely and accommodating. Everything we needed!!
Stayed here in early March for SXSWi. It's in a nice quiet neighborhood a few blocks over from the S.Congress area. There's a small convenience store a few blocks away and a Torchy's tacos if you get hungry :-)
The space is clean and the two bedrooms are of good size. There is TV, internet, Apple TV, and even a nice little working nook if you need to catch up on email. Washer and Dryer looks like they are out back.
The house is located less than a 10 minute easy walk to the Palmer Center, where you can catch shuttle buses to the CC. Walking all the way in is a nice 30 minute walk too if you're in the mood. The 5 bus is right in front too, I believe.
Would def consider staying again for events in the the future/
We stayed at Gretchen's over this past week for SXSW. Gretchen and her husband could not have been more accommodating. Their house is absolutely lovely and the images/description are completely accurate. Only exception is that the house is now painted a fun fire engine RED! The house is very convenient to South Congress and a few great restaurants right on 1st street. Walking downtown took about 30 minutes. The number 5 bus is literally right in the front lawn if you need to get somewhere quicker. We didn't have a car and found the location of the house completely manageable. The neighborhood is also very charming and quiet. We highly recommend staying here on your next trip to Austin.
F1 fantastic! Gretchen even had the house painted Ferrari red for the GP weekend. Location was perfect to hit the local eateries (trailer) district as well as a very manageable walk to downtown. Will be our home away from home when in Austin. Great neighbors to boot!
I have a floral design business in Austin, and my husband Ben directs the construction department at Habitat for Humanity. Aiwyn is 6 and is finishing up her first year of kindergarten. She likes fairies and sparkly dresses.
