Great place. Beautiful and VERY big pool, which we loved. A real rainforrest experience - nice to barbecue in the evening and listen to all the sounds. And take a night swim watching all the stars. There is like a 40 minute drive to the two visitor centers in the Rain Forrest, in the north, note that. That is where, all the tourist tours starts/what you read in the books. We got a trip tip from John, which was the best of all our experiences in El Yungue. A 10 minutes drive from the place, we walked along a river/in the rainforrest - and found a little waterfall + natural pool, where we swum. SO GREAT. Easy to walk, follow the blue ribbons. Ask John about the place. In the beginning, we felt that John was a little extrovert, since he always was very short in his answers. But then we got to know him, and he is a nice guy. Only negative is that there is not so much kitchen equipment. For example no toaster and no electric water boiler. There is two hotplates and a micro owen. And not many plates and such. All in all we would go back to this place.

Response from John / Sara:
Thanks Camilla! Glad you stayed with us, the place you mentioned is "Charco Frio" a local swim spot. Here are more places to visit (Points Of Interest La Mina Falls - 4.7 miles La Coca Falls - 5.1 miles El Yunque National Forest - 5.3 miles= 40 minutes the long way. Carabali Rainforest Park - 8.1 miles Azul Beach - 9 miles Luquillo Beach - 9.3 miles) We will consider your request however we don't get much demand for water boilers here most guest do not drink tea or would heat water in the coffee maker or stovetop, the toaster oven is in the pool area where you did the bbq if you had asked I would have mentioned it. I always say if you need something ask ;) >>>>Future guest please read our description & amenities in the listing. Hacienda Moyan(URL HIDDEN)What Camilla loved about your listing: Pretty - beautiful - great job. We liked it very much, when you gave us tips and tricks. That made our trip so much better :)

This place was perfect for our weekend getaway to the southern part of El Yunque! The grounds were very well kept, rooms were very clean, all the essentials were there, and location was great! There was a small river that runs through the property that was cool to explore with the kids and the pool was big, had a nice shallow area-perfect for the kids. John pointed us to the Hippie Hole which was only about 10 minutes away and soooo beautiful! We are so glad we veered off the beaten path.

My team rented the entire hacienda when we came to Puerto Rico for work and honestly I can't say enough good things about our experience. First off the pool = AMAZING!! Having a giant private pool in Puerto Rico is the greatest luxury you could imagine. Second, John and his wife were so incredibly accommodating and definitely gave us the five star treatment. Third, the view!!!! Honestly, waking up every morning to see nothing but the jungle all the way down to the ocean was something out of a dream. I highly recommend staying here - but just dont stay too much, because I will be returning shortly and dont want to stay anywhere else.

We arrived in a rainstorm and as we traveled up the road, we wondered where we were going. When we got to the gate of Hacienda Moyano, we called the phone number and it was answered right away by Sara. She said her husband would be down to open the gate. He came right away. We drove in and parked in front of a building that had 4 rentals. John gave us an orientation about the room and left us bananas (that were sweet and delicious!). The room had 2 queen beds, a mini kitchen and a modern bathroom. The room was also outfitted with an air conditioner. There was a front door leading to the front balcony and a back door that opened to another balcony. There are many beautiful plantings and it is very much a tropical, rain forest type feeling. The other couple wanted to go exploring right away and enjoyed the river area, seeing toads, lizards and commenting on how scenic it was and a hidden treasure. That evening we enjoyed the swimming pool. Well maintained and very large, it was cool and enjoyable. That pretty much sums up our 3 days there. We swam in the morning and in the evening. We were the only guests and had complete run of the balcony's and the pool. We saw many birds in the area but mostly flying overhead. I suggested to John he put out some bird feeders as there are so many to attract to his area. We ate breakfast in our room and were able to do that as there were plates, silverware and complementary waters in our refrigerator. If we come back to Puerto Rico, we would certainly come back to this place. We have made wonderful memories. While there we did the BioLuminescent Bay trip (15 minutes), went to the beach in Loquillo (15 min), the other couple flew to Culebra from Ceiba (15 minutes) and we found it very centered to the area where we wanted to explore. Although there is an entrance to El Yunque Rain Forest on the road of this bnb, we chose to go to the Main North Entrance (20 min) and had a wonderful day. We slept well and in the morning were treated to the sounds of multiple birds and enjoyed the croaks of the Puerto Rican Coqui Frogs (we still miss them). We wished we could have spent more time there and explored the local area. It is evidently a popular area with tourists passing through the area, on bikes, motorcycles and in cars. We wonder what we missed. We are going to leave some of our photos on your (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) page so others can enjoy them too. (URL HIDDEN)

This place is amazingly beautiful and very quiet. We didn't get to meet Sara, but John was a wonderful host providing us coconuts and mini bananas that were so sweet and tasty! The pool was exquisite; it's a wonderful lap pool! The rooms are spacious. The bathroom had this wonderful glass bowl sink. The whole experience was amazing. I could go on and on. John recommended Vinny's on the boardwalk which is only a 10 min. drive and well worth it! LOVED it ALL!

We strive to give our guests the best experience of Puerto Rico at Hacienda Moyano. We want everyone to see and feel the mountains and the sea. To smell the rain and hear the coqui sing. Stay up late and watch the stars from the pool deck or get up early and watch the sunrise while drinking the best coffee in the world, Cafe Puertoriqueño, from your porch.
