The space
Enjoy the solitude and sound of the river rushing by! It's your very own private riverfront campsite. The 12'x10' canvas tent is set up with a bunk bed containing 2 Queen-sized air mattresses, 2 storage end-tables and a wood-burning stove - the Souhegan River is your front yard. There's a tote full of classic games and an additional privacy tent for the solar shower stowed under the bed, some cookware and cooking utensils are also included, and if you decide to bring your dog(s) along: a repositionable tie-out cable and stake for your pupper's safety, along with biodegradable bear-sized doggy-poop bags. Just scoop it up, tie it up & throw it in the trash can (we also provide the trash bags)...

Outdoors you'll find a fire pit with removable cooking grill grates, a picnic table with benches and a prep-station with an attached bottle-opener and a box for outdoor food storage.* There's a single-person privacy tent set back about 15’ from the tent itself containing the camp-loo, toilet paper and sani-bags. The sani-bags are landfill friendly and biodegradable. They contain non-toxic natural enzymes that trap and break down solid waste, and are proven to be a 99.99% effective barrier against the spread of harmful diseases like E.coli, C.diff, and MRSA. Line the loo with one, and when your business is done, tie it up and discard it in the trash can located outside, next to the deck.
*It's never a good idea to store food inside your tent when you camp. :-)

Upon arrival you'll find a garden cart or an oversize wheelbarrow (or both-depending on the season) to help transport your gear to the site, and a 5-gallon container of potable water. It is a hike to the campsite (about 0.2 miles from parking, but totally worth the effort to get there), so pack accordingly. We’ve also found that it’s usually very wet at the lowest point of the trail - so boots are a must.

**THIS IS CAMPING** There is no electricity at the campsite. We do not provide you with running water (aside from the rushing river and the potable water). We do not provide face-cloths, towels or toiletries. We also do not provide bedding; however, we do keep two (2) very thick wool blankets at the site to put down on top of the air mattress(es) underneath your bedding to help take the edge off the cold and provide you with a layer of comfort.

The tent is not insulated. This means it will get chilly or cold during winter and cooler months. It does have a wood-burning stove for heat; it will likely get smoky inside the tent before a fire is well-enough established to create a draw up the chimney pipe. It should disperse once everything starts to warm up.

A small number of pots, pans and cooking utensils are kept at the site for your use, but we do not supply cups, plates, eating utensils, napkins, etc., unless specifically requested in advance. Additionally, if you use any of the pots, pans or utensils, please either wash them OR return them to the main house when you check out, so we can wash them and return them to the campsite.

Above all, we want you to enjoy your experience. For this reason, we are working very hard to set appropriate expectations. Camping can be challenging and downright hard in the winter, but also incredibly enjoyable and rewarding when well-prepared. We welcome any and all feedback and will continuously work to ensure your Snug Life experience is one to remember fondly.

Where you’ll be

Wilton, New Hampshire, United States

Located on the eastern border of the Monadnock Region, Wilton NH is a beautiful town with a strong local community. There are amazing restaurants that sell locally sourced food, Farmers Markets, country stores and historical landmarks to name a few. There is so much to see, visit, and do in Wilton NH. It is a great place to be year-round. Just forty minutes outside of Manchester, and just over an hour from Boston. You'll be close to everything, but feel like you're in another world. Lots of local waterfalls, and a surprising amount of culture in our small town.
