Michele's place is perfect if you're looking for something convenient, quiet and comfortable. From his flat my girlfriend and I walked everywhere, including The Vatican. No matter what street you go down, after you leave the flat, there is something amazing to discover. The street parallel to the flat had tons of food options if you don't want to walk too far after a long day. By being able to cook at the flat we saved tons of money and had fun experimenting with new ingredients not available in our neck of the woods. The flat is small but perfect for a couple or a single traveler. The bed in the flat was incredibly stiff which was no problem for us but may be a concern for some. Michele's terrace was awesome to hang out on and even during our stay (December-January) it wasn't too cold. At the flat there is a small but functioning washer which really made us much happier travelers since we were able to clean our clothes. The shower was nice but you must choose your shower time carefully. The hot water doesn't last very long and taking two shower in a row Is not an option. Again this is a small issue but for where you are staying its a million times better than a hostel or €250 hotel. On the day of our departure Michele hired us a private car which took us back to the airport and it was only €40. The only word of caution is READ THE HOUSE RULES. Michele has guests pay separate fees which was something I overlooked. These fees were small but I wish I would have known before. Michele's communication and accommodation skills are phenomenal! We got several messages from him letting us know about food, free museums, shops, etc. He truly is a wonderful host! Again, I cannot stress enough how close to everything the flat is! If you want to discover Rome by walking and not some goofy tour bus, this is the place to stay! Overall my stay there was a totally positive one and I'd very much recommend this flat to anyone looking to visit Rome.
Perfect location, you can get to most attractions in a few minutes walking. Michele is a wonderful host. He helped us a lot with everything we needed and was extremely kind and patient. If you're looking for peace of mind while visiting Rome this is the place for you.
Agréable petit studio surtout grâce à sa terrasse par beau (website hidden)ès bien situé dans le centre historique près d'une station de métro dans un quartier sympathique.
Michele's apartment is perfect for a romantic holiday in Rome. It is small, but it has everything you'll need, including a nice rooftop terrace. And the location is perfect. Highly recommended.
My husband and I stayed in Michele's studio apartment for 4 nights in Rome (October 2013). It's a studio apartment, and the bed is a fold-out couch. It's pretty comfy though, my husband is a picky sleeper, and he didn't have any problems with it. The best part of the apartment is the terrace. It's a big outdoor area with amazing views. We'd sit out there at night and listen to the accordion band serenade the restaurant patrons below. Such a fun experience! Even at the end of October we had mid-70's (F) temperatures, so it was wonderful to utilize the terrace. The street that the apartment faces is great, very pedestrian friendly, off of the main street. Lots of restaurants and gelato nearby. Eat here: (email hidden).
We really enjoyed our stay in Rome, and are happy we got to come back to such a great apartment at the end of the day. Thanks Michele! Girls--the hair dryer works great.
Michele was a wonderful host and we loved our time in Rome! From the beginning, Michele was very responsive via email. When we arrived he was waiting for us outside the apartment. Before going up, he gave us several wonderful recommendations for museums, sightseeing, supermarkets, restaurants and wine shops all within walking distance. This location is unbeatable!
The apartment feels very safe and secure. We went up the elevator (a bonus!) and found the adorable apartment very clean and ready for us. The apartment was the perfect size for my husband and I. There was plenty of room for me to completely unpack and hang our clothes. The bathroom was very clean and I even took a few wonderful baths with the small window open to the fresh air!
The terrace was absolutely fabulous! My husband and I bought wine and cheese and sat out there every evening, listening to the lively bustle of the street below. It was so relaxing and fun.
I would highly recommend staying at Michele's apartment if you are traveling through Rome! Thank you for everything, Michele!
Wir haben dieses Apt. aus 2 Gründen gebucht
1. Lage im angesagten Stadtteil Monti
We stayed for a month long sojourn at Michele’s flat in the “old” Roma district referring to the fact that it is an easy walk to such antiquities as the Forum, the Spanish steps, the Trevi fountain, or the Parthenon. The Coliseum is six blocks away. You could not be more central than this small studio apartment sitting on the top floor of a four-story building complete with elevator and a colorful terrace/patio overlooking the Victor Emmanuel Building in the distance. We spent many an hour on the terrace dining and watching the sunsets. This flat has a suitable kitchen with stovetop, well-stocked kitchenware and utensils, a bar fridge, a cozy bath and sink along with a laundry washer (indispensible in the hot weather). The neighborhood is dotted with countless shops, bistros and cafes. We seldom eat in the same place twice.
On our first day we were greeted by Michele who gave us a thorough understanding of the studio and its contents. He took us about the building and shared some of his favorite locales in Rome. He even invited us to his shop close to the Trevi Fountain where we could print off some necessary travel documents and later met his charming mother and grandmother. At one point an outdoor umbrella and vacuum cleaner broke during use, but Michele was quick to get new ones.
I must say we had a rich and bountiful time while in Italy. And who could not enjoy the “eternal city” from the vantage point of this charming studio-apartment in the heart of Rome. How quickly would I return? How fast can you say “ciao amici?’
We cannot say enough amazing things about Michele as a host and his wonderful studio as a Rome retreat. The apartment is absolutely perfect, clean, lovely, quiet, cool and ideal! The sheets and towels were nice and clean, and, for a sofabed, the bed is great. The AC and the wifi work great, and the terrace is stunning. We loved having breakfast out there in the morning, and a glass of wine at night while watching the sun on the beautiful buildings nearby and listening to the bustling life below.
Michele is an excellent host who met us at the apartment, showed us how everything worked, gave us great recommendations for restaurants and places to go, and was so helpful and kind. We really enjoyed meeting him and we feel so lucky to have found his studio. We will definitely be coming back to Rome (we threw our coins in the Trevi fountain after all!) and we would love to stay here again! Grazie mille Michele!
We were fortunate enough to stay in this wonderful apartment for an entire month. That said, when we look back on our time in Rome it will be this apartment and it's gorgeous terrace that we think of before any of the timeless sights. The Monti neighborhood is a surprisingly authentic area in a city where it hard to find a true taste of Italian life. Check-in was simple, and Michele is an awesome host with lots of insight. Transportation is a breeze with Metro stop Cavour right outside the front door and the nearby 117 bus to get you to the historic center. The apartment itself has everything needed to prepare meals to be eaten at the best table in town. The soundtrack is also provided by the rising sound of accordion coming from the street. For nightlife in the area and also right outside the door, the fountain across from Santa Maria ai Monti is always packed with locals and is served by a handful of places with excellent wine beer and food choices. All said, a remarkable place to spend some time in the Eternal City.
