The space
RefugioPasoRobles is a contemporary Spanish-style guesthouse, a peaceful retreat, and a place to wind down at magic hour with a glass of our excellent local wine on one of two private decks, or the large patio. Indulge your inner chef in your dreamy, fully equipped kitchen: two 4-burner Gaggenau cooktops, two convection ovens, two dishwashers, huge, French-door fridge/freezer, ice-maker and dual-zone wine cooler. Super-efficient heating and A/C. Or travel 6 minutes to the center of Paso and all its wonderful dining options. We call Refugio a "B and B," but the second "B" stands for a bottle -- of great wine.

Updated Policies, June 1, 2020::

Refugio is an idyllic, semi-isolated spot in which to "shelter-in-place" as spring arrives on the Central Coast. As of June 12, local wineries are now open open for in-person tasting, plus our incredible selection of award-winning wines are available for curbside pick-up. Our excellent selection of restaurants are doing a fantastic job of adapting to the new normal, and offer reasonable and delicious dishes for pick-up and/or delivery, and limited dine-in; reservations are crucial. At 7 minutes from the center of town, Refugio is within the delivery zone for all Paso Robles establishments that offer delivery. Farmer's markets are open and practicing strict physical distancing.

Cleaning and Disinfection: During this difficult time, we have taken additional steps beyond our usual cleaning procedures to insure the safety of our guests, our cleaning staff, and ourselves. All hard surfaces are throughly disinfected with bleach solution which is left on for 10 minutes, per CDC guidelines. Bath and bed linens (including pillow protectors and mattress pads) are washed at the maximum temperature; our extremely competent housekeeper, with us since our opening, wears a protective mask and gloves at all times when preparing Refugio for guests.

Guest access
The whole house is yours, including an expansive patio shaded with pergola and market umbrellas, plus of course the two immaculate and completely private suites. You have free range of two and half acres of pasture, including two ancient oak trees.

Other things to note
Private Catering Available:
Pending availability, a chef may be available upon request to cater dinner for one to ten in the Refugio kitchen/studio, using recipes from Refugio owner Brigit Binns' book, "The New Wine Country Cookbook: Recipes from California's Central Coast," or any of Brigit's other 29 published cookbooks on subjects ranging from steak to polenta to the West Coast's best road food, and more. The menu will be tailored to your taste, the size of your group, and the wine(s) you plan to drink with the meal. Prices begin at $250, plus the cost of ingredients.

A Farmer’s Market Box of fresh picked seasonal vegetables, fruits, eggs, cheeses, charcuterie and other local products is available from Harvestly.com for delivery prior to your arrival or during your stay. Ask about delivery instructions.

Recently upgraded internet service with mesh system provides blazing speeds up to 50 mb/s.

Horse boarding directly next door, within clear views of Refugio by arrangement.

Pet Policy:
We love dogs and have had virtually no problems welcoming them to Refugio. There is a maximum weight limit of 50 lbs total, and a fee of $50 per dog. Please do not leave your dog unattended in the house unless he or she is in a crate, and please be sure they do not get onto any furniture or beds. Thank you for taking your pet out into the pasture to relieve themselves rather than staying close to the house, to avoid smells.

Please note the the daily price **includes** the legally mandated 10% transit occupancy tax, which AirBnB pays directly to the relevant local agency.
