The ship is offering room enough for two couples living comfortably together summer or winter with the sleeping cabins separated by the cosy pantry and the airy and bright salon. The bathroom in the boat is has a small shower, and an electrical toilet. Once you are outside the flybridge has comfortable couches, and the aft deck has table and deck chairs for dining with a view to all the canal activity. All the way back is another deck with easy water entry ladder for a refreshing dip in canal.

Towels, bed linnen, organic shampoo / soap is provided. The boat has super fast wifi on board, and the marina has wifi on the entire canal area.

Furthermore two bikes are available for guests to explore the city.

We stayed on Mikkel and Maja's yacht, Kanaljen for four wonderful nights. Mikkel was a big help in getting us settled in and our baggage stowed away. The boat was very roomy for the 2 of us. We slept quite comfortably with the windows open in the queen sized bed located aft in the "Captains Quarters". Since it was just the 2 of us we were able to utilize the front smaller bedroom as a dressing/baggage room. The restroom facilities were fine though remember that it is a boat! The Marina shower and toilets were just steps away and more than adequate. The salon was quite do my and comfortable and the 2 outside decks were great for just relaxing with a cold beer or a glass of wine while watching the canal traffic going by and enjoying the evening sun. The location in Christianhavn is terrific ... Walking distance to many attractions and a metro stop just a couple of blocks away. The neighborhood has an abundance of restaurants in a variety of price ranges. We especially liked the Færge which Mikkel, had recommended, just across the small canal. Nothing fancy but friendly, unpretentious and excellent food and service. Copenhagen is very bicycle friendly and I would recommend renting one for your stay. Overall this was a most unique and extremely enjoyable way to experience Copenhagen. I highly recommend it!

nice place makes you feel part of Copenhagen. Being close to a super nice bakery was awesome too and you are a short walk to the subway.

Rent this boat! We had so much fun - the biggest problem was that we didn't want to leave to go sightseeing. We wanted to stay on the boat and watch all the activity around the harbor. Copenhagen is a wonderful city to visit and this boat is the perfect place to stay. It is well located, a short walk from the Metro and now there is a new bridge providing easy access to Paper Island (a wonderful street food market) . At first we thought the double bed in the main cabin would be small but it was actually very comfortable. The beds in the forward cabin were on the small side - our 5'7" daughter was comfortable but a taller person might not be. We never used the shower on the boat - the ones in the marina were clean and easy. The previous suggestion to bring flip flops was helpful. Michael and Maja were extremely nice and helpful. They were waiting for us when we arrived. They carefully explained the details of the boat and they were very accommodating about checking out. If you need Wifi, the boat provides a very fast connection.

The hosts really want guests to have a positive experience and work hard to make that happen. The boat is ideally situated within walking distance of metro and many sights. It is well-supplied for cooking and lounging. Cabins and beds are comfortable and cozy. In good weather, eating on the deck provides an unparalleled Copenhagen experience. Waving back to people on the harbor tour boats makes you feel like a real Dane. You must, however, be comfortable with boat living in tight spaces. Getting on and off the boat, especially with luggage, requires no fear of heights and relatively good balance. It is well worth it for an extraordinary, once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Hi Della & Nancy, Thanks for your nice review. We are glad you enjoyed it. We agree that if you are not used to getting on and off boats, unassisted boarding with heavy luggage is not easy. That's why we are always welcoming our guest at the boat on arrival. Della and Nancy was an exception unfortunately. Looking forward to see you back here again.

We were excited and a bit nervous as we are not boat people, but it could not have been a better experience. The boat is really sweet and was very comfortable for all 4 of us. Mikkal was great and so easy to arrange meeting and suggestions for the area. The location was super easy by metro and in the charming neighborhood of Christianshavn. Bakery across from metro is a must! We would go it again for sure.

We enjoyed our stay very much.  The primary benefit of staying on Mikkel's and Maja's yacht is its location. The boat is moored in Chrisinhaven Canal, not very far away from the historic center of Copenhagen (approximately 15-20 min long walk to Christanborg Slot, half an hour by foot to Tivoli, etc.), yet in an area which is almost free of tourists.  Most visitors come to the area, which in fact is an island, by boat (primarily sailboat), which they moor for a day or two. You will feel like one of the sailors. The canal is frequented also by tour-boats and their passangers wave to you as they pass by as if you were one of the Copenhagen attractions they paid to see. There are a couple small restaurants (one around the corner), coffee shops and an ice cream place within a very short distance. A couple of blocks away one can find more restaurants, pizzerias, bakeries, decently stocked up grocery store, and a metro station, which allows for easy and fast access (15 min ride) to/from the airport. The whole neighborhood feels very safe.  Unfortunately we were not able to locate a bike rental near by, and we believe there is none. (Mikkel told us they plan to provide bikes for the guest in the future; it would be great because cycling is the preferred way of commuting in Copenhagen).  The boat itself is comfortable. It has two cabins, which can sleep four (perhaps not very tall) people, total; dining and cooking area (just the basics), sitting area, and a small bathroom (head) with a toilet, vanity and hand-held shower. Obviously there is not much space for storing stuff, but at least the boat has a safe for your valuables. I imagine that the space might make some feel a bit claustrophobic, but when the weather is good (as it was in our case), you will spend most of your time on the large deck or the larger fly bridge, anyway.  Access to the boat from the shore may be a potential problem with a person having balance or walking difficulty.  The boat is moored in a no-wake zone, so it does not sway much.  Surprisingly, mosquitoes are not a problem either. Water in the canal is pretty clean, salty, and not terribly cold. We took a dip in it and it was fun. The small inflatable boat was not yet ready to take motoring around, but the owners plan to equip it with a small motor and make accessible for renters to use. For now it blocks the access to a swimming platform unfortunately. Shower and toilet facilities are located in a building some 50 yards from the boat. There can be some wait time for a shower in the morning hours, but usually they are not vey busy. Showers require an access code and a token (provided). Practical advice if you arrive with heavy suitcases by metro -- take Torvegade (NE) and Strandgade (NW) to get...

Hi Mietek, we are seriously happy for that you have taken the time to leave such an detailed review for our future guest. I think they will find it amazingly useful and relevant. Thank you so much not only for being great guests, but also for your efforts making the boat the perfect place to stay. And as you say now we have the small dinghy boat available for our guest and not blocking the swimming platform, and yeah we have two bikes ready for guest use as well. Sorry we could not offer that for you. All the best. And always welcome back. Mikkel & Maya.
