|2013 update: I have a room mate now so the only room available is the east-side room. This has the fireplace on the right hand side in pictures looking at the ocean. Kitchen access is limited, you can put things in the fridge and prepare breakfast and lunch but you'll have to go out for dinner. Downstairs is shared and the rental includes only the room. Think of this as a really nice room at a dude's apartment, it's not a real bnb.|
In-Floor Heating, Private Balcony with ocean view and Jacuzzi, full en-suite bathroom in each room, and an amazing waterfront location with a sweeping view of the Juan de Fuca Strait and the Olympic Mountains of Washington State. The seals frolicking on the beach that doubles as the back yard will lull you to sleep at night. Vaulted ceilings with skylight, ample parking, large waterfront yard, 50 Megabit Wifi. Laundry facilities available.
A 2 minute walk around the corner from the world famous Sooke Harbour House which features an amazing local art gallery and one of northwest's finest restaurants and wine lists. Another minute and you're at the local favorite Whiffen Spit Park.
A perfect and luxurious launching point for adventures to: French Beach, China Beach, Sombrio Beach, Port Renfrew, Botanical Beach, Butchart Gardens, Whale Watching with Sooke Coastal Explorations or Prince of Whales, ziplining with Adrena LINE Zipline Adventure tours, the Sooke Potholes (with secret tips on reaching all of the best potholes), Butchart Gardens, golfing at Bear Mountain, Olympic View Golf Course, and Arbutus Ridge Golf Course. Amazing local restaurants include the Sooke Harbour House, Markus' Wharfside Restaurant, Point No Point, and the Stone Pipe Grill. 5 minute drive from all grocery stores and local services. Don't miss the historic 17 Mile House Pub!
First AirBnB-experience and probably one of the nicest places we stayed at during our trip. The view from the room is absolutely stunning and if you're lucky you might see some elk in the backyard. :) Daniel is a super friendly and accomodating host who knows the region well and really took the time to tell us about all the best places to visit. We absolutely loved staying here, even though the balcony hot tub was out of order. :)
Nowhere in Sooke can compare to this stunning suite with the best view in town! Be warned the town shuts down completely by 9 so make sure your provisioned. We'd stay here again in a (email hidden)so be sure to ask Daniel for his Sooke pothole recommendations.
Daniel is a very relaxed host; he let us stay even at very short notice. Coming from a week of hiking the West Coast Trail, we were happy to find this beautiful place to stay overnight and enjoy the pleasures of civilisation (as a shower and a real bed) after the outback. Especially we enjoyed the hot tub on the balcony with the stunning view on Juan de Fuca Strait.
Our stay at Daniel's house was really pleasant.
The room is spacious, decorated with style and the view on the sea is incredible.
Daniel was a great host, and he provided us with all we needed! We highly recommend this place!
Daniel’s place is magical and has everything you need – that’s all there is to say! Even though Daniel was working late on the night we arrived, he made sure we could access the room and was very attentive to any questions or requests.
The stay in Sooke was great! Daniel was very accommodating and courteous. Plenty of things to do and see in the area. I would recommend to family and friends anytime and one day make my way back for another stay.
Many bonuses........real fireplace, ocean view, heated floors and very quiet. Must have a vehicle as it is quite a walk from the main center but a lovely walk to the spit on the ocean.
Beautiful spot right on the water. The view, the skylights and the real wood fireplace makes this a special place. The room was clean.
This spot is amazing- the view is awesome, and the hot tub overlooks the water. Everything was clean and comfortable and perfect for a weekend getaway. Sooke is about an hour and 20 minutes by bus from downtown victoria and only costs $2.50, so well worth it if you dont mind taking the bus. We enjoyed staying in a more remote area and whiffen spit is about as close to the water that you can get for the price! Daniel was very friendly and we were able to use his kitchen! Overall great stay.
Daniel took us in last minute and made us feel totally at home. The house was right by the water and even though it was raining when we were there, it was lovely just to be able to look out over the water. A great place to kick off a relaxing stay on the Island.
