cleaning fee is not included in this price and has to be paid once.

The price does not include breakfast, but you may use coffie or tea machine in the morning.

A little bit of me:

My name is Christian, the name of the house is the first name of my 8 y.o. daughter who's staying with me in the house 2 days a week.

I'm 41 years old guy working at Rome3 University and professional in filmmaking. I decided to engage in this activity because I love getting in contact with new people. If I'm at home (but I'm often out for work) I enjoy sharing meals, ideas, conversations...

Since I'm not always at home I would like to have clean and quiet people, but most of all independent.

A bit of San Lorenzo:

Located in the heart of San Lorenzo, Rome's historic district, within walking distance from the city center, Termini Station and University La Sapienza.
San Lorenzo is a district full of cultural and social turmoil, as it is sprinkled with cinemas, bookstores, libraries, and the famous roman nightlife . Built close to the Aurelian Walls, San Lorenzo is above all a place to experience the real Rome: the inhabitants of the neighborhood are pleasant and playful, always ready to point the way if you need, and tell some Roman anecdote. Being close to the University La Sapienza and to the Verano, the most famous cemetery in Rome that hosts the most important characters of Italy, Garibaldi and Mazzini, Marcello Mastroianni ed Edoardo De Filippo, has allowed the development of many small craft shops of marble workers, glassware, and scientific printers, and has bequeathed a strong focus on small craft shops that today, with their artifacts, adorn the streets of the neighborhood. Here you will find many small shops of leather, candles, crafts, carpentry and much more.. As a matter of fact In a few minutes you can reach swimming pools, massage centers, gyms, parks and supermarkets.

Metro and buses are within walking distance.
Anyhow, I will be happy to suggest itineraries and routes and give advice and suggestions for holidays and non-turistic places where to be surprized!

Transportation to Idea's Room:

From Fiumicino Airport:

A taxi would cost 48 euros.
Train takes you to Termini Station (10-15 minutes walking to the house) in around 30 minutes and it costs 14 euros.
There are also buses, much cheaper: 4/5 euros with Terravision,
or other companies.

From Termini (Central) Station:
10/15 minutes walking.

  • Christian and his flat are really a nice couple :-) We enjoyed our stay there, the place has charm and we felt like at home. Christian gave us useful tips like where to eat or what to visit. The location of the place is great, 10 minutes walk from Termini station.

  • We had a great stay at Idea's room.
It was really clean, cozy and well-located.
Even if Christian was not at home, we found everything we needed, even very useful info and tips about lines and restaurant in the city.
    Highly recommended!

  • Great location in authentic Rome neighbourhood. Clean appartment and nice. Christian gave some very good restaurant tips which we really enjoyed. Very simple breakfast is possible in the appartment but we recommend to take it in the coffeeshop bar a few metres further where you can enjoy real italian coffee and italian style breakfast. Bus stop is in front of the appartment, als well as a convenience store

  • Christian is nice, gentlemen and easygoing! He waited me outside his building as he was afraid I might got lost on the first day of arriving his place. He recommended some nice places to me for visiting and eat. And Idea's room was a wonderful place to stay. It is clean, modern and stylish. The place was quiet, well located as I can reach the central Termini Station and nearby metro station in 15 minutes, and was very convenient, there were supermarkets, bookshop, nice cheap restaurants downstairs. It's a student area, it is quite safe to walk at night. As i had tight schedule, it is a pity that we had no time to spend together. However if I return to Rome someday I would like to stay in Idea's room again!

  • We had a great stay with Christian and his girlfriend at the end of a long cycle tour from London to Rome. Could easily recommend this place to anybody, its just outside of the city walls, but very close to trams and trains and in a nice neighbourhood.

  • It was a pleasure staying at Christian's place, even though we didn't get a chance to meet him. The flat is really nice and very well located. It's a student area, very lively with nice cheap restaurants.
    We strongly recommand Idea's room.

  • Idea's room was a great place to stay. Situated in a very hip neighbourhood close to the centre and very near to the main hub railway station. Christian was kind and hospitable and a great person to talk to. The apartment itself was lovely: clean, homely, modern and yet nicely 'italiano'. I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend it sincerely. Also, great value!

  • Staying at Christian's in Rome was such a treat. The apartment is very clean and cute, and the bed super comfy. Christian gave us great food recommendations and we had amazing food during our 2 days stay, including the best gelato I've ever had, 10 min walk from the apartment!

The neighborhood he lives in is called San Lorenzo, super chill and safe, with lots of restaurants and bars. You can walk to the historical center in about 40min but the walk is not super nice. I would recommend walking to the bus stop (5min walk) and taking the bus 71. It takes you right to the center.

The center of Rome can be quite intense and touristy, so it was nice at night to come back to a real neighborhood with locals walking in the streets and not just tourists.

We will definitely be staying with Christian next time we come to Rome :)

  • Really enjoyed my stay in Idea's room. The house was clean, beautiful, quiet and conveniently located in the heart of San Lorenzo. Most importantly, comfortable bed on a lovely mezzanine and really spacious room. I had a lovely stay here and definitely recommend others to do the same.
