Shoes off in lobby please - hope that doesn't make us sound like control freaks :)
This was a perfect Airbnb exerperience! Debbie and Chris were amazing hosts and made us feel like friends on a visit!
The location was amazing--just outside the busy Lake District area, but so close for easy access. We just walked up their lovely lane to catch the bus.
Their home is delightful--warm and inviting. The beds were so comfortable and breakfast each morning was delicious. Debbie took extra care to provide for our needs. We so enjoyed the area--hiking through fields of sheep surrounding their home. Debbie helped us plan out our time the next day with her suggestions. We were so sad to leave this lovely place!
Thank you Debbie and Chris for a wonderful stay in the Lake District. You and your home were very welcoming....a lovely " home away from home "..... comfy bed, great shower and good breakfast. The heaps of great local knowledge from you both gave us 2 wonderful days of exploring. Debbie....you even supplied the beautiful weather we asked for!!!!!
Thank you both once again.

Debbie & Chris are the perfect couple to stay with if you would like to experience a unique taste of England in one of the most picturesque part of the country.
They made us feel like home in their lovely house (you can even sit in your pyjamas having a cup of tea with them in the lounge after a challenging walk to the Langdale Pikes). The house was not only cozy, but very clean and tidy, I would highly recommend it to anyone who want to get a special taste of the Lake District.
Debbie and Chris were very welcoming and very helpful in suggesting a good restaurant for our first evening in Kendal. They also gave us a good idea for where we could walk on our one day in the Lakes and we were very grateful for the loan of an OS map. Their house is beautiful and very comfortable. We also enjoyed our breakfasts and appreciated the specially purchased gluten- free cereal and bread for John. We would definitely recommend Lane Foot Cottage and would very happily return for a longer stay.
Our experience staying with Chris and Debbie was wonderful! Comfortable beds and a nice bathroom. Debbie and Chris were great to chat with over tea, offered great restaurant and sightseeing suggestions, and always made us feel welcome. Lovely atmosphere and views! Very cozy, clean, and relaxing place to have a holiday and central for exploring the Lake District. Wish we could have stayed longer!
It would be hard to imagine a lovelier place from which to explore the Lake District! Debbie and Chris are warm and welcoming hosts who provide all the comforts of home (and then some!) from a postcard-perfect cottage, both inside and from every window. Being just outside hectic little Kendal, everywhere was easily accessed but we felt miles away from the madding crowd.
Our hosts had excellent suggestions for every query so though our time was short, we thoroughly enjoyed every experience. Try to book early as this truly is a special place!
About the Host, Debbie
We are Deb and Chris. We both love the outdoors and spend lots of time in the fells. We know the Lake District really well and think it’s the best place in the world - especially when the sun shines! We have two sons now off expanding their horizons so have space to share. Debs entrepreneurial brother tells us we “need to make our assets sweat” (?!?) so we thought we’d try Airbnb and hope to meet some nice people along the way. We share a love of nature and try to live a low impact lifestyle but also enjoy nights out, food and the arts. Thank goodness for the Kendal Brewery Arts Centre – though it has to be said that Chris spends a lot more time in the bar than the theatre!
If you come and stay with us you’ll get a warm welcome, comfy rooms, easy access to the Lakes, Howgills and Dales and any advice you want about where to walk/climb/paraglide/bike/lakeswim/eat/drink etc. Hope to meet you soon.
