Debbie and Chris live in the house along with Poppy and Beanie our small, friendly dogs and we are looking forward to meeting you :). We realise that some people may not feel like meeting our dogs and that is fine. they are never allowed upstairs and they are happy to stay in their own space!!.
So go on give yourself a holiday! We would love to meet you.
Shoes off in lobby please - hope that doesn't make us sound like control freaks :)
This is the first time my friends and I've ever been on airbnb and the experience is fantastic!! We stayed at the cottage for two nights and it's a memory to remember in life. Debbie and Chris are absolutely warm and kind, providing everything in detail. Debbie gave us loads of information about Lake District and at night we had great fun chatting in the living room. The fireplace in the living room is awesome!! It's like we live in the period drama and we girls just can't stop taking pictures. The breakfast Debbie and Chris provided is really big and hearty and we absolutely enjoyed it. The scenery from bus station to the cottage is breath-taking, full of super green grass and super cute sheep and it's a great place to take selfies:) The experience is beyond words and we sincerely thank Debbie and Chris!! If you are travelling to Lake District, Debbie and Chris's cottage is the perfect place to stay.
The most lovely time. We stayed 2 nights. Debbie and Chris were very easy to get a long with. Delightful conversation. Very helpful with suggestions of day visits in the area and restaurants of a night time. We loved Mexican restaurant in the township. The bed was very comfortable. Own bathroom was lovely and shower just great after a full day out. The house is on the edge of town so it is like being in the country with lovely views over the countryside. Highly recommend.
We really enjoyed staying with Debbie and Chris. They gave us excellent advice for what to see and where to eat, they provided a good breakfasts and super company, and even provided maps and rain coats. They obviously know the area very well and were so kind to give us insight into the history and life in the Lake District.
Their house is old and charming, warm and comfortable. We would highly recommend staying here and would love to go back.
Debbie and Chris and Poppy and Beeny and their lovely home made our brief stay most enjoyable. we would love to return for a longer visit next time we are in the lakes .Thank you so much and we hope the "Help yourself " veg in Kendal is a great success.
Thank you Chris and Debbie. We were made to feel welcome from the start and glad to make it off the hills to a warm fire each evening. Felt like a home from home with a great breakfast to start the day.
Debbie and Chris are the very helpful and nice hosts, I loved staying with them. The room is very cozy, and beautifully furnished, you may definitely slow yourself down in this beautiful place. I'll be coming back to this place durning the summer time. Highly recommend to all airbnbers!
Riding down the lane to Debbie's house I had a good feeling about my stay. The house really is a 'character' property nicely located just outside Kendal but within reach of any eateries or pubs you might want. There was somewhere sheltered to store my bike and once in the lovely fire-lit living room, the Hosts were lovely to chat to - Debbie was close to finishing the Wainrights, which went someway to explaining their vast map collection upstairs! Bed was super comfy and breakfast in the morning was great. When in Kendal next, I will be knocking at the door for sure!
We are Deb and Chris. We both love the outdoors and spend lots of time in the fells. We know the Lake District really well and think it’s the best place in the world - especially when the sun shines! We have two sons now off expanding their horizons so have space to share. Debs entrepreneurial brother tells us we “need to make our assets sweat” (?!?) so we thought we’d try Airbnb and hope to meet some nice people along the way. We share a love of nature and try to live a low impact lifestyle but also enjoy nights out, food and the arts. Thank goodness for the Kendal Brewery Arts Centre – though it has to be said that Chris spends a lot more time in the bar than the theatre!
If you come and stay with us you’ll get a warm welcome, comfy rooms, easy access to the Lakes, Howgills and Dales and any advice you want about where to walk/climb/paraglide/bike/lakeswim/eat/drink etc. Hope to meet you soon.
