This apartment was better than we could have ever expected! Annalisa was a lovely hostess, welcoming us and giving us a tour with some of the history of the amazing abbey. This ancient site was such a special place for us to spend the first night of our honeymoon. The bed was firm and very comfortable, and happens to be underneath some wonderful 16th century frescoes painted on the ceiling. Waking up in the morning and having coffee outside in the garden was the best way to start our first full day in Italy! The only downside to our stay was that it lasted only one night!!
We really enjoyed our staying at the Abbey. The apartment was spacious, clean and the kitchen was fully equipped. There were high ceilings with beautiful antique frescos. It was so incredible to lie in the evening and look at these wonderful frescos and waking up to seeing this beauty.
After a noisy and crowded Venice, this place was a real paradise of silence and relaxation. It was absolutely peaseful: at the evening were heard trills of nightingales, fireflies glowed in the dark, frogs croaked in the pond and in the morning we waking up at crowing rooster!
Thank you, Annalisa, for a wonderful and calming stay!
Fantastic place, hope to return back next year to spend more time and enjoy it again. It's little haven with peaceful atmosphere.
Thank you for great time
Thank you Annalisa! We loved your Abby...full of energy ;-) We enjoyed your beautiful garden with all the fresh herbs, salad and onions for a great Pasta meal! The rooms are really nice and cosy!
Annalisa made us feel very welcome! In addition, she was very available and helpful throughout our entire five day visit.
This listing is even more spectacular than it appears in the description. It was very clean, and we were provided with everything we needed to make our stay very comfortable. The surrounding area is lovely; ideally located for short trips to the spectacular cities in the surrounding area.
The grounds are beautiful, with a lawn and rose garden and surrounded by a large organic vegetable and herb farm.
We particularly enjoyed sitting outside before sunset each evening with a glass of wine watching the swallows swoop above our heads. I'm an artist, and I found many wonderful subjects for architectural and landscape sketches without having to leave the property -- a nice bonus!
I would heartily recommend the Abbey for both large groups or a private getaway. We would definitely stay here again, and in fact plan on it!
The abbey was amazing and restored with great attention to detail! The building, yard, gardens, and area were beautiful. There was ancient artwork on the ceiling! Very quiet. We would have enjoyed spending an entire afternoon relaxing outside. The views of the hillsides were great. The rooms had all the basic amenities and more. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom for our apartment was nice but you had go out into the elements (about a 15-20 ft walk) to get to it. It was private in the sense that it was only accessible to our unit. Not a big deal. Overall, a wonderful place and a great experience.
