It is called the river home because my house is right on the bank of the river. Its the property and the river, nothing in-between.
A perfect place to cleanse and unwind. The home has a mandir. Along with the flower garden, there is a kitchen garden and we grow seasonal vegetables. Soft archery, carrom., dart board available. The place has a hammock and fishing rod for angling.
The river and the sky has its own beauty. Looks spectacular in different seasons. A perfect retreat.

The space
There’s ample space to walk within the premises. Trees bearing flowers and fruit, the garden is refreshing at all times of the year. Butterflies and bird life abound in our garden.
You could also borrow our bicycle to explore the surroundings.

Where you’ll be

Village- Basulat, West Bengal, India

Location map- http://goo.gl/maps/p7oZEEGwRps
Falta is 55 km from central kolkata, 55 km from Howrah Station, and 78 km from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport. Takes 2-2.5 hours from the city depending on the traffic. There are options of travelling in bus and cars. Falta was an old human settlement of Pre-British India. When Siraj-ud-Daulah sacked Kolkata in 1756, the English residents moved to Falta temporarily.
The river hooghly passes by the village and being near the estuary the river width goes upto 3.5 km. A perenial river which has different moods in different season. The other side of the river is the district, Howrah. Boats can take one to the other side of the river. In between two jetties is the house. An old jetty to the left side about 200 m away while a new jetty on the right, adjacent to the house. The greenery surrounds the neighbourhood. Government hospital and schools are within radius of a km.

I am an advertising professional. I stay in Kolkata, India. Every time I visit Falta, it refreshes me. I thought of sharing this with like minded people who will love to unwind next to a perennial river.
