if i could fall asleep every night to the sound of the waves drifting through the dozens of open windows in this beautiful home, i would. somna's house of sacred circles, with its two huge, gorgeous banyan trees, plethora of lanais, spacious interior, beautiful washrooms, incredible acoustics and madagascar geckos was the perfect place for us to call home on the north shore. i was blessed enough to convince my family to take a trip to my favorite places and really wanted a special location for them to experience it. it was my family's first time visiting hawaii and there could have been no better space for us to have settled into. the location, just outside haleiwa and right next to banzai, is ideal if you're not planning on spending much time in the city. the neighborhood is quiet and if you're lucky, the tiny cat who guards the home will chase off begging roosters in the mornings. it's a wonderfully private space, inspiring and restful, tucked just far enough away from the road that you can hear the waves and not the traffic. somna was a fantastic communicator, making sure that we had all that we needed and was really a joy to write back-and-forth with. there was a sweet basket of snacks waiting for us on the kitchen counter (which was quickly devoured) and next to it, a lovely album with information about the home, the neighborhood and things to see, which was a great help to my family. the house is so open that it's actually surprising how much privacy and room there is. my partner and i spent a whole afternoon there not even realizing my brother and his wife were also relaxing on their side of the house! we were all so grateful to have this phenomenal, creative home with peaceful and mellow energy to relax in at night and during the hotter parts of the day. somna's friendliness, graciousness and artistry truly made this the most positive airbnb experience i've ever had. when we were wheels down in new york after spending our second week in hawaii in the house of sacred circles, we already wanted to head back to the pacific. thank you so much for this unique, inspiring and magical setting. i am so grateful to have found such a wonderful home and host and can't wait to return.

The house is very spacious, has unique architecture, and is complete with beach towels and beach accessories. For the North Shore, it is in an ideal location. They also provided a wonderful care package with coffee, tea, and snacks. We fell in love with the area chickens and a tiny cat that kept watch over us in the front yard. Unfortunately, during our stay the house had a bug problem.

Our stay at the House of Sacred Circles was absolutely delightful! In the ideal location for those who want the best of the North Shore, it is a quiet and serene home set atop a private road, and so close to the surf and beautiful beaches the North Shore is known for. The house provided modern amenities and had all the small necessities such as toilet paper and dishwasher detergent, salt & pepper, etc... We enjoyed many homemade meals here and found all the basics available to us. There was more than enough space for us and we felt like we found our new favorite spot to sit for coffee every morning! Our host, Somna, was available by phone and email whenever we needed something and made sure we were comfortable during our stay without intruding on our privacy one bit. We would encourage anyone looking for a private rental for a family or small group (4-6+) to rent this space for your next visit to Oahu, out of the way of the hustle and bustle, but close enough to a Foodland grocery store and weekly farmers market, both only a few minutes drive away. Wake up to chickens running across the yard, soak up the sun on the decks to the sound of the palm trees blowing in the wind, and fall asleep to the sound of the surf; you'll find upscale country life here in this beautiful, energetic property. You'll love the house so much you'll end up feeling like It was part of the destination! 5 Stars Rating

My brothers and I wanted to take our Dad to Hawaii as he's a super keen surfer, and found the Sacred Circles as it's walking distance to Pipeline, Waimea and Sunset. The house is just wonderful; so much more beautiful and serene than the photos can even convey. Beach towels, snorkels for Shark Cove and a great guest book really helped us along. The grounds are lovely, and the whole thing was just such a great experience. Somna was really fast to communicate when we had a question, and there was a lovely welcome basket there waiting for us when we arrived with coffee, tea, and chocolates. A short walk to the supermarket and really well-equipped kitchen, as well as salt pepper and the essentials already in the cupboard. A total pleasure, a wonderful spot!

I am a composer/performer/harpist and have performed my works around New York City in such unlikely places as CBGB's (now gone, what a loss!), the old Mother, Arlene's Grocery, Slipper Room, the New York and Philadelphia Fringe Festivals, and more recently at the International Conferences for Deep Listening in Troy, NY. The co-owner, Anthony, is a painter of landscapes and more abstract large works and restores antique motorcycles. He used to build custom bikes in Hawaii and has won some awards. He also built the house.
Hawaii was the perfect antidote to urban living and continues to be so. Many changes are happening on the North Shore and hopefully the area will retain some of its rural qualities. Presently I reside in rural Central Pennsylvania and share my home in Hawaii with the lucky ones.
