Sunny Apartment , Downtown Tokyo

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Meguro, Tokyo, Japan

The Space

Sunny apartment in the heart of tokyo. Located in the neighborhood of Meguro only 5mins walk from the JR Meguro station. Although very central, still has a local feel to it. Millions of restaurants around it, Meguro is famous for its dinning. The Building is also located across a beautiful japanese temple and above a 24h supermarket, so you can always get whatever you need at anytime. Also located next to Meguro River where you can go for pleasant walks.

Please check my calendar for availability. The dates available there are the dates available. If it says booked then its booked. Thanks ;)

The Apartment is nice and spacious, bigger then the average japanese apartments located on the 9th floor with a beautiful view from the living room and kitchen and also a amazing sunset view of Mount Fuji from the rooftop.

• The bedroom is separated from the living room by sliding doors. The Tatami flooring keeps it cozy and stylish.

• The living room and dinning room's large windows make the apartment very bright and allow the sun to come straight in the house from 11am til sunset. Also has an electric organ and acoustic guitar for those of you, like me, who play music.

I have pocket wifi internet, so no matter where you go in Tokyo you can take the small device with you and always be connected.

• Fully equipped kitchen. Clean cooking utensils and two burner stove. Large fridge and microwave.

• Toilet and bath facility (shower and hot tub) are separated from each other.

JR Meguro Station is very central, only 5 mins away from Shibuya and 11 mins from Shinjuku. Also easy connection with all the JR bullet trains to Kyoto, Osaka and other cities.

The apartment is also located 5 mins walk from the local sports center with indoor and outdoor pools, gym, tennis, basketball and badminton courts, etc.

  • Gui was an awesome host! And his place is excellent. It's spacious and has everything you need for a great stay. I loved the neighborhood, especially during Sakura season—and Nakameguro, right next door, is fantastic! Lots of really great restaurants and bars that feel like hole-in-the-wall joints but are truly world-renowned—and the river walk is lovely.

Everything about this apartment was easy to navigate, Gui was super responsive whenever we had a question about anything, and even recommended some great spots to visit around town. Really cool guy. I'd recommend staying here for sure!

  • The location is excellent. There is a 24 hour super market in the ground floor. Excellent international restaurants within walking distance. The pocket internet works and was a big boon.
Well it is a bare bones apartment. The windows do not close well so it is pretty noisy up there. They were also doing construction so there were people in the hallway and on the scaffolding early in the morning. Then the gas crew came and wanted access to the apartment. Without a microwave or pots and pans or utensils, it was a challenge and we managed as we stayed only for one night

  • The apartment was more spacious than most Japanese apartments I've seen before, which was a plus. However, you have to know that this is a traditional Japanese apartment with hot water only in the shower room. Location wise, this place was awesome! It was above a 24hr supermarket and within a 10 min walk to Meguro Station.

We didn't have a chance to meet Guillerme, but he was communicative enough.

  • Gui's apartment is in a great spot and an easy (if hilly and windy!) walk to the JR Yamnote line.

We had a great time in our little Tokyo home for a week. Yes, I agree with the reviews that say it is loud, but it really didn't bother us - price you pay for an amazing location, and it would have been louder in Shinjuku!

The supermarket directly below the apartment is AWESOME. And some great restaurants in the area. It was an excellent base, and so easy to get around. Thank you Gui for a great stay.

  • We were travelling in Japan with our 7 month old baby, and Gui’s place was good for us. The tami mat area was great for our bub to crawl around, and the separate sleeping area meant we had somewhere to put our baby to bed.

Other good things are the location - it is easy to get around Tokyo being on the Yamanote line and two subway lines. And it was handy having a supermarket downstairs. Also Gui was very quick in replying to our questions.

As mentioned in other reviews, the apartment is pretty basic, and there is a bit less stuff in the apartment than what is shown in the pictures (e.g. no coffee machine). The kitchen was not squeaky clean but there’s no real need to cook anyway with lots of good cheap food nearby.

  • Gui's apartment was lovely. It's compact and cosy. My wife and I stayed there with our 15 month old son last month and it was perfect for the 3 of us. Our son enjoyed the space and was able to crawl around and stretch his legs out. You woudn't get this luxury of space in a typical hotel room in Tokyo. The location itself was pretty ideal within 10min walking distance to JR Meguro station. This station is very conveniently located on the JR Yamanote line, which is only a few stops away from Shinjuku and Shibuya. Very easy to get around. There is a 24hr supermarket directly below the apartment in the same building, a and laundry downstairs. The only downside to note is that the apartment is located on top of a very busy intersection and noise was definitely an issue. Eventually we learnt how to drown out the noise of emergency vehicles constantly passing by. Otherwise the apartment is clean, compact, and cosy and affordable. We enojyed our time there, and experienced living like one of the locals.

  • Thanks Guilherme for sharing your apartment with us. We found it quickly and easily with your directions and enjoyed staying in Meguro. There were so many traditional eateries and personable bars local to the apartment and our first japanese meal was on the same street and it was so memorable! We found the surrounding areas gave us so much to discover and if you are keen on the cherry blossoms then one of tokyo's best kept secrets is on your door step. Thanks again Guilherme, I'm already planning a return trip.

  • Great apartment with a great location. The place is huge for tokyo as well. We had 7 days there and loved it. Just to note we had a good look for the washing machine and the door was locked so you will have to use the coin laundry across the road.

  • Me, my husband and 3 year old daughter stayed in Gui's Sunny Apartment for 10 days. Gui, nice person and very responsive. Checkin in and out was so easy. Gui even dropped by to give new sets of fresh sheets for the futon. The apartment is large for Tokyo. Sunny indeed, it helps when its bloody cold during winter. The sun and the heater definitely warms up the place. Location-wise 10 minutes walk to Meguro Station. lots of restaurants, (email hidden) supermarket downstairs.
To be honest, its lacking basic amenities. A kettle or a microwave would've been nice. There's washing machine downstairs (didn't find it tho) and hang it up to dry on the roof. We used a laundry (wash and fold) service (try (website hidden) Kajitaku) or there's a coin laundry 10 minutes walk from the apt.
If you are used to Japanese tidiness, and the warm Japanese washlets, you'll probably be disappointed.
All comes back to the price you pay, Its definitely a good deal, pretty cheap for a big apt with amazing location. It was definitely good for my first Airbnb experience.
    Thanks Gui

  • Guilherme's directions were very clear to the apartment, so we could find it quite easily. The area has a lot of restaurants. We were in the apartment in December when the nights are a little bit of chilly, so the heater in the apartment was really needed. Not luxury, but a way to really see how people live in Japan.
