  • Staying at Villa-Bahia was an incredible experience and made our trip just unforgettable. We fell in love with Morro De São Paulo and Villa-Bahia was part of it. The place is amazing, surrounded by nature. The apartment is very very comfortable, with simple but really nice decoration, and really quiet, nice for relaxing and for a really good night of sleep. Werner is an amazing host and we felt like we were at home. The view from the breakfast is mind-blowing! It is one of the most amazing sights I have ever seen. We are already missing Morro de São Paulo and Villa-Bahia, gotta return soon as possible and spend more days. Thank you, Werner!

  • We had a great time staying at Werner's little B&B! Werner and his dog Olivia were so sweet. The breakfast he served each morning was wonderful, as are the views during breakfast overlooking the ocean - stunning! My fiancé and I spent 4 nights at Werner's and came back super relaxed. Aside from going to the beach we spent much of our days just laying in hammocks. We took a day boat trip around the island of Morro and Werner called the boat's captain and had him pick us up at a much closer spot than the guy otherwise would have, and Werner also lent us cash to pay for the trip since we didn't at the time have cash on us. And when we'd complained of lack of quality food options on the island, Werner recommended a great little place (Papoula's) that was closer and cheaper than everything else -- we liked it so much that we ended up eating there 3 times. I would recommend Werner's place to anyone!

  • We had a wonderful stay at Werner’s B&B! It was really hard to leave because Werner welcomed us with open arms and made us feel right at home. To be honest, we couldn’t have imagined a better host!

Every day, he prepared a really nice breakfast for us while we enjoyed the magnificent view of the bay. During breakfast, we also had some really nice conversations with Werner and learned a lot about Morro de São Paulo. He also gave us some really good tips (restaurants, trips, etc.).

The room was really clean and had an en-suite bathroom. It was cleaned daily and we also received fresh towels. There was a balcony in front of the room which we could use to hang out and also to relax in the hammock. There was even an mp3 player in the room so we could listen to music. The B&B is located in a peaceful neighbourhood of Morro, though it is really close to the centre (2 minutes’ walk).

In short: I would definitely recommend staying at Werner’s B&B and would stay there again if I ever get the chance to go back!! :)

  • If we had 6 stars to rate Werner and Ce's place, we would use them. We had an absolutely marvellous time with them at breakfast time, amazing food and great conversation. Werner really went out of his way to make our stay more confortable, gave us great tips on where to eat and go and became a good friend by the end of our time in Morro. The apartments aren't fancy but they're perfect for a holiday, there's nothing missing and they're super clean. We even got an upgrade for free! The location is also super convienent, less than 10 minutes from the main beaches, 2 from an isolated one, and so far away from the noise! We fell in love with the place and are looking forward to coming back!!!!! All the best to Werner, Ce, Olivia, Papagai and Pretinha. Manu and Lu

Best place in Morro de sao paulo. Werner is an amazing host, always available, with the best advice of where to go, and where to eat. His simplicity makes you feel at home.
Breakfast is definitely a highlight at Villa-Bahia! The quality and choice are simply fantastic and the breakfast area has an amazing sea view.
Villa Bahia is ideally located in a very calm and peaceful area of the village, far enough that you're not bothered by the noise when resting but close enough that you can reach the frenzy of the 2nd beach in under 10 minutes. So you can enjoy the great party scene and go back to your room to recharge your batteries with a good night sleep!
The room is very clean and confortable with hot water, wifi, hamac in a personal terrasse with an amazing view of the jungle.
Werner organised an awesome boat trip around the island (which he joined) which has been the highlight of our Brazilian vacation (snorkeling in natural swimming pools, lobster on a white sandy beach, knee wakeboarding, a trip around the mangrove with a stop to enjoy fresh oysters on a boat!)
We highly recommend this place and can't wait to come back!

  • Everything was amazing at this place. Quality of a hotel/pousada, better privacy than a hotel, very good breakfast (with fresh juice, coffee/milk, bread, eggs, bacon, ham, cheese!), air conditioning, safety, towel provided, daily room cleaning, and the best of all, in the middle of the nature! We found it easily enough (have a look at the video provided here), and it is walking distance to everywhere.
Werner is a very nice guy and he gave us good recommendations of where to go, places to eat and even where the parties where happening.
    I truly recommend it. :)

Portugues: Tudo otimo nesta pousada.

  • We've just one sentence to say : we had a wonderful experience in Morro de Sao Paulo and especially at Werner's house.

The place has a magnific sea view, it is very peacefull and calm. It is not really easy to access there, the best thing is to have a look on Werner's video (very usefull when you do not know the island)

He has two rooms with private bathroom, one with air conditioning and the second one without it. In both, you'll find mosquito net :)
We stayed in the second one and it was really pleasant.

Werner is a great host, he knows perfectly the island and he will give you good tips about beaches, restaurants and where to have a drink etc...

Breakfast is nice too : juice, fresh bread, marmelade, coffee, tea and eggs.

    Here are 2 tips ==>
    1) if you want to come from salvador, contact Cassie compagny, it was our choice.
    2) Try to spend at least 3 days in the island.

Thank you for everything Werner, we hope to see you soon

  • Werner's Villa Bahia is an excellent place to stay on Morro de São Paulo. The room was great and everything was in working order. Werner is a gracious host and very informative about the island. He pointed me in the direction of the popular beaches and the more quiet, out of the way beaches. He also told me of some great restaurants and cantinas that had good food at reasonable prices.

Villa Bahia is close enough to the beach and nightlife of Morro but far enough away so you don't have to live with the bar noise and music blaring as with some of the other pousadas. If you're looking for a quiet, tranquil or romantic getaway, while still enjoying the nightlife and activities of Morro, then Werner's place will meet your expectations.

Looking forward to staying there again when I return!

  • The Villa Bahia experience is unparalleled on Morro de Sao Paolo. There are pousadas (for lack of a better word) few and far between that can match the hospitality and generosity Werner demonstrates with each and every guest that steps past the thresholds of VIlla Bahia's wooden gates. Nestled in the canopy of the NW part of the island, the property is hidden from passers-by behind lush vegetation making the rooms a great escape from the sun and beach dominating the entire visit on the island. Each room has a decent amount of privacy met only by the expanse of the mini jungle surrounding the small three-room building. If you listen closely you can hear small monkeys in the trees above or Werner's birds cat call women when they surface on Werner's terrace.

Each morning we would wake up to a beautiful morning accompanied by Werner's well-renown breakfasts, with home-baked breads, hams and cheeses, fresh juice, eggs, and other smaller edibles, all the whilst, overlooking the small cove and the beach below it extending south past Villa Bahia. You can't think of many other ways that can beat such a great start to your morning when on vacation. It's also a great place to meet-and-greet other guests in the villa.

On the last day on the island, Werner was able to set up a boat tour around the island with all the guests. Sure to be a good time, Werner immediately recognized the fun to be had, and joined us for the adventure. You basically stop in small natural pools in the middle of the ocean and snorkel until eating lunch involving freshly caught lobster and octopus on the beach. There's a rustic floating oyster bar along the way that offer fresh oysters and cachaca. Long story short, a tour not to be missed. Ask Werner about the tour, I believe he knows the operator personally.

All and all, our stay in Villa Bahia was a magnificent way to end our vacation in Bahia. Werner's welcoming spirit will put you immediately at ease and set the tone for the rest of your stay in Morro. Always ask Werner for restaurant suggestions. He knows how to eat well on the island.
