About this listing
Hostel Riad Marrakech Rouge has the loveliest dorms in the medina of Marrakech. A palace with rainbow walls, hand carved ceilings and comfortable, cosy and happy surroundings - you will have a truly Morocco experience staying here. Our staff know more than (website hidden), our Moroccan tea flows like a waterfall all day every day. Marrakech Rouge is full of colourful dorms from 4-10 people and we even give you the option of staying in one of our Berber tents on the terrace which in the summer period is amazing.
There is a guest kitchen for use at any time of the day, or perhaps you would like to undertake a cooking class on the rooftop terrace. It is nice to feel at home when you stay in a hostel, so expect a cosy, happy and social environment where it is easy to make friends.
We are based in the Riad Zitoun Jdid area of the Marrakech medina which is in the centre of the medina - just next to Place D'Jeema el Fna in the middle of all the action.
There is a public car park which costs about 20MAD per day about 2 minutes from the hostel opposite Palais Bahia, and the No. 19 airport shuttle is about 7 minutes by the Koutoubia Mosque.
We recently won a Hostelworld HOSCAR Award for 8th Best Overall Hostel in the World which we were obviously really happy about. Come and try it out!
FREE breakfast, FREE wifi, henna decoration, FREE tea and coffee all day, Berber tents and rooftop terraces
Great location about 5 minutes walk from the main square but tucked away in a side street (derb) so it stays quiet. About 2 minutes from the beautiful Palais Bahia and The Mellah (Jewish quarter)
Walking is the best way to see the city, but bus stops and taxis are all within 5 minutes walking
Dear Guest, so these are our house rules. We are a lovely, friendly home for travellers in the heart of the medina of Marrakech. Anyone looking for a calm but social atmosphere - a colourful chill out zone, a comfortable base in the middle of the souqs will enjoy their stay with us. We just ask you to be respectful and openminded about your visit. No preconceptions, no prejudgement in a world full of judgement. Enjoy broadening your comfort zone and have a great stay in Morocco!
Happy travels! Marrakech Rouge Hostels
I was traveling alone and I spent 4 nights in this riad, it is very well located and very clean.
The staff bends over backwards to make your stay pleasant and breakfast and the mint tea all day are very good.
You meet Pedro is extremely nice with a big heart.
Do not hesitate to spend a few days in Marrakech Rouge.
Going to Marrakech was one or the best experiences of my life, and it part of what made it so good was staying at this hostel. Awesome views from the rooftop patio, breakfast in the morning and endless amounts of tea were all great touches. The blankets were warm, the showers were hot and the WiFi was fast. The excursion to the Sahara that I signed up for when booking the hostel was absolutely amazing. Make sure you do an excursion while you're there. The only challenge was finding the hostel. So ensure that you make arrangements with the hostel to pick you up at the cafe, as you must venture into the Medina alone otherwise. Though nobody ended up coming to pick me up, I was able to find it using my phone's offline GPS.
It was my first time traveling alone and i decided to go to a completely new country. The common area was great to meet new people and i can say the only time I was alone was the flight to Marrakesh. The host are very welcoming and answer any questions you have. They provide you with free tea and coffee which is great for the cold nights in January.
One of the coolest hostels I've ever stayed in. It's a bit difficult to find (as is everything in Marrakech), but once you get there, everything is awesome. The staff is welcoming and more than hospitable. The hostel is a beautiful three story building with rooms on every floor and on the roof. Views from the roof are like something from out of a movie. Breakfast is included in the morning and tea and hookah are available at anytime.

About the Host, Aida
Love independent travel, love independent travellers! Feel that time should be made for tea and cake every day. Twice. It is good for the soul.
It is always joyful to feel as though you are part of an extended family when travelling in new, unknown places. We certainly like to feel that way and hope you do too.
