The apartment has all essential amenities: Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and microwave, as well as washing mashine, TV and a stereo with jack plug for playing your own music. Towels and bed linen are of course included.
And for musical guests: There´s a piano, too :-)
You have the entire apartment all to yourselves. I currently live in Berlin - so we will primarily be in touch via this platform and I´m happy to answer any questions you may have prior to your arrival. My apartment manager Zinaida is in charge of the apartment in Copenhagen and will be checking you in and helping you during your stay if you need anything. I will arrange your arrival with her. She lives right across the street!
We have flexible check-in and check-out times. If Zinaida is unable to meet you in the apartment at your arrival time, she will leave the keys for you at a designated place nearby.
Amagerbro is one of the up-and-coming neighbourhoods in Copenhagen, only a 8-minute metro ride from the bustling downtown district around central Nørreport and Kgs. Nytorv. The local streets are the home of our favourite cosy cafés and eateries, shopping opportunities and supermarkets. It´s alos a very child friendly area with a huge playground nearby, and a small playground in the yard of the apartment, too. The local library also offers activities for children and parents.
Visit the famous Christiania district on your way into the city centre, or and join the locals in a refreshing daily swim at the nearby Amager Beach a stroll away. We even continue the ritual when temperatures drop below freezing ☺ - that´s what I do when I´m in Copenhagen!
Also, check out both old and new community owned wind turbines visible from Amager strandpark.
Take a look at the newly updated guidebook here on airbnb to take a closer look at what´s nearby.
From the airport, you just take the metro (any line) and get off 8 minutes later at "Lergravsparken". Then, there´s only a few minutes to walk to the apartment. After the booking is confirmed, I provide you with a (website hidden) map with exact walking directions.
The metro runs every 3-8 minutes both day and night, and takes you into the city center in 8 minutes.
Right around the corner from the apartment, visible from the balcony, there´s a bus stop, with line 2A running every 5-8 minutes, also taking you into the city center - above ground :-)
Also, there´s free parking in the street which is otherwise very costly in Copenhagen. The apartment is just outside the payment zone. Please note that you might have to look for a parking spot if you arrive late in the evening.
Copenhagen is amazing to explore by bicycle, and Copenhageners bike all year round (and in winter, the bike lane will be cleaned for snow before the car lanes!). So explore multi-lane bike paths with designated trafic lights! The guidebook here on airbnb includes our recommended bike rental place: Baisikeli CPH Bike Rentals.
Insider tip: If you don´t want to carry your luggage upstairs all by yourself, take a cab to the apartment and pay the taxi driver to help you! And then: Enjoy Copenhagen!

Staying in Kirsten's apartment was an absolutely blessing after so much time in youth hostels. It was so great to find somewhere clean, spacious and simply lovely. I barely left the house - just hung out peacefully while I did my work. It was warm and cozy.
The apartment was a short metro ride from the city - and just a short walk from the metro. It was easy to find and easy to use.
Thanks Kirsten for opening up your home. It's a terrific place and I couldn't recommend it highly enough.
Very nice Appartement, was clean and had everything we needed. Short walk to metro (which is fantastic in Copenhagen) and to grocery store. Kristen was fantastic as a host, very nice. A bit small for 8 people but we didn't mind since who wants to spend the whole time in the apartment anyways
We stayed in Kirsten's apartment for a long girls weekend in October. We had a great time, everything was clean when we arrived, Zinaida was already waiting for us. She was very nice and explained a few things to us. The apartment is only a 5 minutes walk from the metro Station away and the city centre is only 3 stations away. So very central.
Two little comments:
There was only one roll of toilet paper which was of course not enough for 7 people but the supermarket was not far away ;-) we also didn't find trash bags but these are only minor issues which can be easily solved.
We really enjoyed our stay!
Many thanks for having us!
Great communication. Great flat but pretty tight if you are more than 5 people. Arrange in advance the pickup address for the keys as it was a little bit complicated. Otherwise very clean and cozy.
Kirsten's apartment was perfect! It was just the right size for 4 adults and one toddler with the extra loft space. The stairs were many, but over all I'm very glad we stayed here. All the amenities needed were included and they even included a voucher for one of the local bakeries as a welcome to Copenhagen. I'd stay here again and would recommend it to any other travellers coming to Copenhagen. Not to mention, the trains into the city and the bus were both only 1-2 blocks from the doorstep.
Really nice apartment it looks a bit bigger in the pictures and te stairs are quite high but we loved every moment of our stay.
We loved the look of Kirsten's apartment from the pictures, so were happy to pay a little extra. The apartment is clean and well set-out, but to our minds in need of a freshen-up at this price. What we liked about the place was its proximity to a Metro station - easy to get to airport and the city - and the fact it's an interesting layout. Kirsten's representative was friendly and easy to reach, but was unable to meet us on arrival. No dramas: the keys were left at a local pizza place and Kirstin paid for pizza for us (which we didn't manage to get back to eat).
The downsides, in our opinion are the stairs - 6, 7 flights? - which become a bit of a bore when you're lugging a suitcase or forget something. We also suggest some curtains in the bedroom because the thin paper blind doesn't begin to stop sunlight and it's hard to sleep as soon as the sun comes up. If we come back to Copenhagen I think we'd opt for a place in a more interesting area. There's not a great deal in the way of shops and cafes nearby and having discovered some of CPH's more vibrant areas it seems a shame not to stay in or near them.
So, to sum up, we felt the place was a bit overpriced given the area and the rather "studenty" - no offence to students! - look of the place. It would have been nice if the bed had been made (the sheets were left folded on the bed) and a bit of milk in the fridge would have been nice.
Hi Richard, thanks for the feedback.
I know the 5th floor without an elevator can be a hazzle - many apartments in Copenhagen are like that. Therefore, I recommend tired travellers to take the cab, because you can actually pay the cab driver to carry your luggage up the stairs for you.
Zinaida, my apartment manager, and I put a very high priority on flexible check-in and check-out times. Therefore, it sometimes happens that we cannot be there in person. That´s where the pizzeria solution comes in. In that way, guest can get into the apartment right when they arrive.
Thanks for reminding me about the curtains. Since I have no trouble sleeping in the short Danish summernights myself, I tend to forget that this might not be so for many others.
And: Usually we have beer and soda in the fridge for our guests, and some sweets - for you, we had intended the pizza. What a pitty that didn´t work out for you. I´d be happy to host you again if you´re around! Try out the off season around Christmas - it´s lower priced :-)
Staying at Kirsten's place was the best decision I could have made for my visit to Copenhagen! It felt like I was staying at my sister's house! Great for a family visit!
We stayed here a second time and everything ran as smoothly as the first time.
Thanks, Kirsten. Your apartment had everything in it that we needed. It's well located with the 2a bus and the metro station 1 block away.
Special thanks to Zinaida for her help with the keys, local information etc.
The stairs can be tiring after a long day out especially if you are older.
