  • What a beautiful apartment, at a reasonable monthly cost! The cleanliness, spaciousness, and airiness were among the best we have experienced in a rental. Furniture, appliances, and accessories were more than adequate. The views out the living room and bedroom windows of the Vienna skyline, accentuated with various notable scenic sights, e.g., St. Stephan's Dom, the Prater, the Donau Tower, etc, was quite a treat. And while the traffic and pedestrian noise could become a bit too much at times, closing the airtight windows easily took care of that annoyance.

The complex itself was intriguing, with a quite ultra-modern renovation of a late 19th century historic landmark. The neighborhood was comprised of modern, ultra-modern, and post-modern architecture, offering an intriguing respite from that equally intriguing 19th century and earlier architecture found in the center of the city. A reasonably priced grocery store along with other specialty shops and restaurants located on the premises was quite convenient.

Both Cathrin and her husband, Christian, were gracious hosts, answering all questions, meeting our various and sundry requests for additional hangers and towels, and helping us with recommendations both small - regarding the particular points of interest in the city - and large - appropriate dental professionals.

We will highly recommend this apartment to our family, friends, and professional associates who are planning to visit Vienna in the future.

  • The apartment was very easy to get to - there is a U station right at the Gasometer complex. Cathrin was very helpful both before and during our trip. She provided very detailed travel instructions and even made some helpful restaurant suggestions for our New Year's Eve dinner. We very much enjoyed our stay here and working with Cathrin made our trip much less stressful. Vienna is a lovely city and these hosts are an excellent example of why everyone should visit.

  • My cousin and I rented this wonderful apartment for Christmas and had an absolutely perfect stay. We were looking for a nice place to relax over the holidays where we could also cook a Christmas dinner. The well-equipped kitchen in this place made that possible and Cathrin was kind enough to supply a couple of extra items that we needed, too. Having the Spar store in the Gasometer complex meant we didn't have to take much time out of our sightseeing schedule to get all the groceries we needed for our stay.

With easy access to the city by subway, a washing machine, clothes iron and wifi in the unit and lots of other services in the building, I don't think we could have hoped for a better place in Vienna. One little extra that really touched us was the gift of a variety of traditional Christmas cookies baked by Cathrin's mother. It was such a nice touch for a couple of Canadian girls spending Christmas away from home and we loved every last crumb.

  • It was a very nice stay in Vienna.
The appartment is charming, very cosy - lot of space with all the amenities, unique location.
But most importantly Cathrin is very reliable host who manages to help in unforseen circumstances.
    I heaertfully recommend this place.

  • My Wife and I stayed in Vienna for a week and enjoyed our stay at Cathrins' apartment very much!
The apartment is beautiful, very well lit, spacious, clean and overall very pleasant. Terrific location - a mall in the same complex (but you wouldn't hear it at all) with everything you'll need to stay comfortable, a U-Bahn not 20 meters of walk from the entrance of the complex that will bring you to the city center in under 10 minutes (including waiting time, at the peak hours).
We would definitely would stay there in our next visit to Vienna.

  • A great apartment, highlighted by its unique location in a converted gas storage tank. While out of the city, the apartment was near to the Metro which made city access easy. As with all European cities we visited, the public transportation system is efficient and easy to use. The apartment is modern and decorated and furnished very nicely. A modern kitchen that makes it possible to do cooking if desired. Another plus was the clothes washing machine. As with most apartments we visited, drying of washed clothes is performed with a drying rack.

The bed and bedroom were the largest and most comfortable of all apartments we rented during our extensive trip. Good storage and closet space.

This apartment acquainted us with a Nespresso coffee machine. We found coffee in Europe to be superior to what we can normally find in the US. The Nespresso machine makes brewing good coffee a certainty at home. We will be purchasing our own machine soon.

The owner was extremely responsive and helpful.

While it is possible to park on the street near the apartment for no cost, we elected to park in the garage. The cost was only 3 euros per day, a bargain considering the convenience and security gained.

  • We stayed in the apartment for 5 weeks and really loved it. It's super clean, very quiet, comfortably furnished, and it remained incredibly cool when temperatures soared to 36 degrees celsius this summer. It's also well-connected with the U Bahn and you are very quickly downtown or anywhere else you want to go. The Prater (a large wooded park) is also nearby for runs, walks, bike rides, etc. The only reason I cannot offer 5 stars: I love being able to just walk out the door and explore the city. Here, you need to take the U Bahn to get to the beautiful districts of Vienna. But hey, it's really a minor detail. And the hosts are fantastic.

  • We enjoyed it a lot! Cathrin's apartment is very well located right next to the U-bahn, with a direct root to the city center. The food store cafes and some shops are in the same building! The apartment had nice views out to the city center . It is comfortable, large, modern, with a lot of light and nice large windows. The coffe was there for us, as well as wathing mashine and microwave. it is definitely the appartment i would like to return to.

  • We had a lovely three night stay in Cathrin's Gasometer apartment. Communication with Cathrin was excellent prior to our stay, and arrival at the apartment couldn't have been easier as the Gasometer has it's own stop on Vienna's U3 U-Bahn line.

The location is excellent, perhaps ten minutes by U-Bahn from Stephansplatz, and there is an excellently stocked grocer right in the Gasometer so it is very easy to have a few items in the kitchen.

The apartment itself is very nicely furnished, sparklingly clean, and quite spacious. Big, bright rooms with a beautiful view through several windows out to the Vienna skyline: Stephansdom, the Prater, and more line the horizon. Away just enough from the throngs of tourists, even with the windows cracked open this is a profoundly quiet location for a wonderful night's sleep before returning to the adventure of discovering Vienna.

We would recommend this location to anyone: a beautiful, modern apartment in an historic building with courteous, professional hosts. There is nothing more one could ask for.

  • We had a wonderful time in Vienna! Cathrin and Christian were the perfect hosts.
They are very kind and made us feel comfortable, always ready to help us even they are busy with their jobs.
The flat is sunny and very bright with very nice view from the window, decorated and equipped with taste.
Everything you need is inside the same building and don't have to go out for supermarket,
fitness-club with solarium, cinema, restaurants, parking place, metro station!
12 min to the center with metro (7 stops).
I can highly recommend their place to anyone, and would for sure choose it for a future stay in Vienna.
Thank you very much Cathrin and Christian!
