This is the perfect home base as you explore the wild and wonderful Sierra Nevada mountains, with one of the best views in all of Three Rivers. The Sequoia National Park entrance is literally 2 minutes from the cabin! Seeing the Giant Sequoias is truly a one-of-a-kind experience :)
As mentioned, you can also explore the property and hike down our trail to a private swimming hole. If it's warm enough you can jump right in! Less than a 10 minute walk, it's amazing! Bring comfortable shoes, your swimsuit and a water bottle. We supply the walking sticks!
You have access to the entire property… hike around the trails and enjoy! Joey will be your tour guide :)
Interaction with Guests
INTERACTION: When you arrive we will show you to the cabin and answer any questions you may have. We will introduce you to Seamus (SHAY-mus) and Joey (little one), our 2 dogs, who will be very excited to meet you! They love new friends!
We attempt to give our guests total privacy: we interact with our guests as much as needed, but no more than necessary. We are on hand if there are any issues, questions or needs. Jana (and/or Kinsey) is available either onsite or by text anytime of day or night. Airbnb messenger works great here!
The cabin is located next to the main house, but the way it's laid out enables total privacy.
NOTE: Please read the "House Rules" before coming up. You will need to know where to park, etc. Once booking is confirmed you will have access to DIRECTIONS as well. There will be a printed copy of the guidebook with trail maps, local spots and house rules in the cabin. :)
This is one of the most beautiful destinations in California. The magical Sequoia National Park is pristine yet not overrun with people like some other areas. King's Canyon is simply breathtaking as well. You will truly get a unique mountain experience here with the many wonderful trails and vistas to explore.
Three Rivers is also a great place to kick around—art galleries, eateries and a great atmosphere make this a special little town! :)
3.5 hours by car from LA, 4.5 to 5 hours from SF—leave at 8 or 9am from LA and you'll be here for lunch. You'll definitely need a car. Once in the park, you can walk miles of trails to your heart's content. There is a seasonal park shuttle starting in MAY you can take once here as well.

Excellent location, particularly for those planning to explore the park. Just near the main entrance but also only a few minutes from the turn off to the lesser visited Mineral King where we enjoyed an incredible day hike up to a glacial lake. The property's private river access with swimming hole is amazing - we loved it. The place is warmed by the sun streaming in through the surrounding windows. The bed cozy and on the soft side. Between the deck with sweeping views and the swimming hole, we could have just spent the whole visit at the property! Jana was welcoming and friendly. We appreciated the little "extras" she left for us in the cabin, as well as the binder of recommended addresses and activities. We had a particularly great meal at the Ol' Buckaroo - thanks for the advice, Jana!
Jana was a very welcoming host who was very accommodating of our late arrival. The cabin is in a fantastic location for exploring Sequoia and is well equipped. We especially liked the goodies and her lovely friendly dogs.
We had a lovely stay with Jana. Her cabin is the perfect spot to base yourself for exploring Sequoia. Right at the entrance, you can see it from your private deck! Jana has thought of everything for the traveller to make for an easy and enjoyable stay. Great tips for exploring and eating.
Jana's place in Three Rivers is awesome. Really close to Kings Canyon /Sequoia National Park. Jana was a great host, as were her two wonderful dogs. Moro Rock is a must if you visit the park! We will definitely be back!
My partner and I had a wonderful stay at Jana's Cozy Mountain Getaway. The room was bright, cozy and had everything you would need. We appreciated the basket of snacks and cold beer! The deck was perfect for star gazing at night and for coffee/breakfast in the morning. Seamus and Joey (her puppies) were friendly and welcoming. The only hiccup was our check-in but we used the time to enjoy the refreshing swimming hole located a few minutes walk from the property. Be careful when turning into and exiting the access driveway due to the potholes.
Beautiful place, perfect spot for a weekend get away. The view is incredible and we loved waking up in the morning and drinking coffee on the patio and staying up late for star-gazing at night. Jana had stocked the cabin with yogurt, fruit bars and even beer and had little necessities like band aids and bug spray. The location can't be beat, you can literally see the entrance to Sequoia National Park from the patio in the morning. Jana recommended we get to the cabin before dark and I know why, the drive way is a bit tricky- steep and windy but as long as you don't mind heights, it only adds to the "get away from it all" feeling... Which is exactly what we wanted. We had such a great time, totally recommend.
Three Rivers Cozy Mountain Getaway was amazing! The cabin was pictured and described exactly as it is and you are literally 2 minutes from the Sequoia National Park entrance! Jana was so welcoming and greeted us as we arrived as well as the dogs, Joey and Seamus! Jana was also nice enough to provide coffee and plenty of goodies during our stay, which was greatly appreciated especially after long days at the park! It was awesome! The dogs added so much to our trip and it was like being at home eating lunch on the deck among gorgeous views and having a dog by your side! Seamus even gave us a tour to the swimming hole! The swimming hole is beautiful and just a little hike down from the cabin! This is a great place, amongst great views and great people! If you ever want to go to Sequoia NP or the Three Rivers area, you have to stay here!

About the Host, Jana
Kinsey & I are creative types that live between the kinetic energy of LA and the invigorating & peaceful energy of the mountains. For us, it's the perfect juxtaposition. We've done quite a bit of traveling and are lucky to have friends from all over the world. We've been in Three Rivers for 5 years and are having a blast sharing our piece of paradise with new acquaintances.
“Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out that going to the mountains is going home; that wildness is a necessity; and that mountain parks and reservations are useful not only as fountains of timber and irrigating rivers, but as fountains of life.” - John Muir
