Cozy all-wood guest cabin at the Sequoia National Park with private deck overlooking the Kaweah river & Moro Rock. Hike to a private beach with large swimming hole and gorgeous rapids. We have two friendly dogs so being OK with them is a must!
CHARMING & UNIQUE with access to private swimming hole, this is a romantic getaway with *stunning* views of the Sierra Nevada mountains on 7+ acres, with your own entry and large private deck for relaxing & stargazing. We're on top of a winding private drive next to hundreds of acres of untouched land—it's like having nature all to yourself. EVERY SEASON IS SPECIAL!
With french country decor, air conditioner, "fireplace" heater, mini fridge, coffee maker (with fresh beans & grinder), microwave and goodies, it has all you need except a full kitchen. There are plenty of eateries within a short distance including a grocery for all your other needs.
You'll sleep like a baby with the sounds of the river flowing over giant boulders below you, on a top-of-the-line mattress and fresh linens.
This is the perfect home base as you explore the wild and wonderful Sierra Nevada mountains, with one of the best views in all of Three Rivers. The Sequoia National Park entrance is literally 2 minutes from the cabin! Seeing the Giant Sequoias is truly a one-of-a-kind experience!
As mentioned, you can also explore the property and hike down our trail to a private swimming hole. If it's warm enough you can jump right in! Less than a 10 minute walk, it's amazing! Bring comfortable shoes and a water bottle. We supply the walking sticks.
You have access to the entire property… hike around the trails and enjoy! Joey will be your tour guide :)
Interaction with Guests
INTERACTION: When you arrive we will show you to the cabin and answer any questions you may have. Then we will introduce you to Seamus (big one) and Joey (little one), our 2 dogs, who will be very excited to meet you! They love new friends!
We attempt to give our guests total privacy; we interact with our guests as much as needed, but no more than necessary. We are on hand if there are any issues, questions or needs. Jana (and/or Kinsey) is available either onsite or by text anytime of day or night.
The cabin is located next to the main house, but the way it's laid out enables total privacy.
NOTE: Please read the "House Rules" before coming up. You will need to know where to park, etc. Once booking is confirmed you will have access to DIRECTIONS as well. There will be a printed copy of the guidebook with trail maps, local spots and house rules in the cabin. :)
MICROWAVE & MINI-FRIDGE: The cabin does not have a kitchen. There is a microwave and mini-fridge, and of course restaurants & local markets to pickup snacks or food to microwave.
This is one of the best destinations in California. The Sequoia National Park is pristine yet not overrun with people like some other areas. King's Canyon is simply breathtaking as well. You will truly get a unique mountain experience here with the many wonderful trails and vistas to explore.
3.5 hours by car from LA, 4.5 to 5 hours from SF—leave at 8 or 9am from LA and you'll be here for lunch. You'll definitely need a car. Once in the park, you can walk miles of trails to your heart's content. There is a seasonal park shuttle service you can take once here as well.
Other Things to Note
NO PETS or ADDITIONAL PEOPLE. The cabin only fits 2.
I will email the House Rules and Directions to the email you have on file with AirBNB. Please print out the direction page for the drive here.
SEE YOU SOON! :)
This is a no fire zone under current California drought conditions. NO SMOKING, BBQ or propane. Thanks for your understanding.
Be ready to chillax! :)
Jana greeted us upon arrival and familiarized us with the locale. The suite and the surrounding area are simply beautiful, and if you never left the deck, you'd be more than satisfied with the view. The apartment was very comfortable and just perfect for a getaway, and we enjoyed a short hike down to the swimming hole on the property.
We truly enjoyed our time staying in Janna's cabin! The view was breathtaking with great accommodations. She even left us little snacks, coffee, and drinks in the fridge that were much appreciated! Janna's dogs, Shamus & Joey, were also a great addition to the experience. They greeted us at the gate and in the driveway every day and they were very sweet. The cabin was atop a private driveway and very quiet. It was less than 2 minutes away from the Sequoia National Park entrance which was super convenient.
I would definitely recommend Janna's place to a friend or anyone that is looking to get away from the city and enjoy nature.
Jana was a fantastic host. She greeted us at the door, had all kinds of wonderful information, and her place was exquisite. Everything was as described and we had a wonderful time.
We had an amazing stay.
The cabin, the vue and the location are just unbeliavable.
I really recommend this place, it's truly wors it.
You also really can feel a great attention to detail, for decoration and for you to feel comfortable.
Thank you so much!!
Jana and Kinsey were great hosts! The cottage was clean, cozy and comfortable with amazing views. We look forward to coming back for another trip.
Jana and Kinsey were excellent hosts. The accommodation was clean and comfortable with the most stunning views of the mountains. The deck area was a lovely place to chill in the evening and to do some early morning yoga. The walk down to the river is a must do. The dogs escorted us down there.
Many thanks for letting us share part of your home.
Jana's place was the perfect mix of beauty and comfort. We got so much more then we expected in hospitality and experience. Waking up each morning to the picturesque landscape and then going for a swim in the private river was an experience my boyfriend and I will never forget. We have already recommended them to all our friends and family when they asked about our trip to Sequoia.

Kinsey & I are creative types that live between the kinetic energy of LA and the invigorating & peaceful energy of the mountains. For us, it's the perfect juxtaposition. We've done quite a bit of traveling and are lucky to have friends from all over the world. We've been in Three Rivers for 5 years and are having a blast sharing our piece of paradise with new acquaintances.
“Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out that going to the mountains is going home; that wildness is a necessity; and that mountain parks and reservations are useful not only as fountains of timber and irrigating rivers, but as fountains of life.” - John Muir
