Cozy all-wood guest cabin at the Sequoia National Park with private deck overlooking the Kaweah river & Moro Rock. Hike to a private beach with large swimming hole and gorgeous rapids on the property. We have two friendly dogs so being OK with them is a must!
CHARMING & UNIQUE with PRIVATE RIVER, this is a romantic getaway with *stunning* views of the Sierra Nevada mountains on 7+ acres, with your own entry and large private deck for relaxing & stargazing. Private beach & river make it one of a kind… We're on top of a winding private drive next to hundreds of acres of untouched land—it's like having nature all to yourself. EVERY SEASON IS SPECIAL!
With french country decor, air conditioner, "fireplace" heater, mini fridge, coffee maker (with fresh beans & grinder), microwave and goodies, it has all you need except a full kitchen. There are plenty of eateries within a short distance including a grocery for all your other needs.
You'll sleep like a baby with the sounds of the river flowing over giant boulders below you, on a top-of-the-line mattress and fresh linens.
This is the perfect home base as you explore the wild and wonderful Sierra Nevada mountains, with one of the best views in all of Three Rivers. The Sequoia National Park entrance is literally 4 minutes from the cabin if you drive slow ;) Seeing the Giant Sequoias is truly a one-of-a-kind experience!
As mentioned, you can also explore the property and hike down our trail to a private swimming hole on the river. If it's warm enough you can jump right in! Less than a 10 minute walk, it's amazing! Bring comfortable shoes and a water bottle. We supply the walking sticks.
You have access to the entire property… hike around the trails and enjoy! Joey will be your tour guide :)
Interaction with Guests
INTERACTION: When you arrive we will show you to the cabin and answer any questions you may have. Then we will introduce you to Seamus (big one) and Joey (little one), our 2 dogs, who will be very excited to meet you! They love new friends!
We attempt to give our guests total privacy; we interact with our guests as much as needed, but no more than necessary. We are on hand if there are any issues, questions or needs. Jana (and/or Kinsey) is available either onsite or by text anytime of day or night.
The cabin is located next to the main house, but the way it's laid out enables total privacy.
NOTE: Please read the "House Rules" before coming up. You will need to know where to park, etc. Once booking is confirmed you will have access to DIRECTIONS as well. There will be a printed copy of the guidebook with trail maps, local spots and house rules in the cabin. :)
MICROWAVE & MINI-FRIDGE: The cabin does not have a kitchen. There is a microwave and mini-fridge, and of course restaurants & local markets to pickup snacks or food to microwave.
This is one of the best destinations in California. The Sequoia National Park is pristine yet not overrun with people like some other areas. King's Canyon is simply breathtaking as well. You will truly get a unique mountain experience here with the many wonderful trails and vistas to explore.
3.5 hours by car from LA, 4.5 to 5 hours from SF—leave at 8 or 9am from LA and you'll be here for lunch. You'll definitely need a car. Once in the park, you can walk miles of trails to your heart's content. There is a seasonal park shuttle service you can take once here as well.
Other Things to Note
NO PETS or ADDITIONAL PEOPLE. The cabin only fits 2—there is no room on the floor or elsewhere for extra people, sorry! Check out other 3R listing to see if it's available.
I will email the House Rules and Directions to the email you have on file with AirBNB. Please print out the direction page for the drive here.
SEE YOU SOON! :)
This is a no fire zone under current California drought conditions. NO SMOKING, BBQ or propane. Thanks for your understanding.
Be ready to chillax! :)
Gorgeous place! wonderful view of the sierras and the kaweah river on the side of a mountain. RIGHT outside the sequoia national park.
Definitely would stay again. Wish I could have been there longer.
Two very happy doggies live there.
Jana was very helpful and greeted me when I got there. She was very accommodating, considering I booked the place the day of!
The cabin is very private.
Jana and Dave were very friendly and helpful when we arrived, and we appreciated the snacks, drinks, and fresh strawberries they left us! The deck and its view are even more amazing than the pictures can show; same story with the private swimming hole. Location-wise, it doesn't get any more convenient to Sequoia NP. We can't wait to come back, thanks guys!
Staying in Jana and Kinsey's cabin was a very unique and memorable experience. They did a great job hosting me. The cabin is located in a perfect location from which you have an amazing view of the national park. You can watch sunrise just laying in your bed. I did not have the chance to talk to Jana but Kinsey is super fun to talk to. Wish I could have stay longer.
Upon arrival we were greeted by Jana and Kinsey, both of them made us feel very welcomed and showed us around the place. After showing us around, Jana introduced us to their two dogs, Seamus and Joey, both dogs were really friendly and happy to see us. Joey even acted as our tour guide as we traversed down the hill to the private swim hole. The water was too cold for a swim, but the view of the river and landscape was well worth the hike. Although the cabin room was next to the main house, we had total privacy. The small fridge was stocked with drinks and a basket full of snacks was a pleasant surprise. The view was spectacular from the patio, where we could look down at the river and the entrance to Sequoia National Park. You can see Moro Rock from the patio as well. We would definitely stay with Jana and Kinsey again.
Had a wonderful time. The "cabin" was very warm and cozy. Loved the view and was very convenient to visit Sequoia and Kings Canyon Natl Parks.
We enjoyed staying at Jana's place so much. We felt very welcomed and were thankful for their hospitality. Very comfortable stay overall --- everything was very thoughtfully prepared for us, and it made our stay perfect. The location was great as well---very close to the park entrance and to the local coffee shop and restaurants. It was absolutely lovely to wake up to the breathtakingly gorgeous view from the patio!! And the mini hike down to the river from the cabin was so much fun. My mother was visiting from Japan, and she could not stop taking photographs:) Thank you for making her day, and for your hospitality Jana!
Jana and Kinsey were fantastic hosts! Their trail and restaurant recommendations were spot on, they left awesome snacks, and they made themselves available for us in an unobtrusive, but friendly way. We will definitely be back! It was gorgeous.

Kinsey & I are creative types that live between the kinetic energy of LA and the invigorating & peaceful energy of the mountains. For us, it's the perfect juxtaposition. We've done quite a bit of traveling and are lucky to have friends from all over the world. We've been in Three Rivers for 5 years and are having a blast sharing our piece of paradise with new acquaintances.
“Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out that going to the mountains is going home; that wildness is a necessity; and that mountain parks and reservations are useful not only as fountains of timber and irrigating rivers, but as fountains of life.” - John Muir
