You have access to the entire property… hike around the trails and enjoy! Joey will be your tour guide :)
Interaction with Guests
INTERACTION: When you arrive we will show you to the cabin and answer any questions you may have. We will introduce you to Seamus (big one) and Joey (little one), our 2 dogs, who will be very excited to meet you! (They love new friends!)
We attempt to give our guests total privacy: we interact with our guests as much as needed, but no more than necessary. We are on hand if there are any issues, questions or needs. Jana (and/or Kinsey) is available either onsite or by text anytime of day or night. Airbnb messenger works great here!
The cabin is located next to the main house, but the way it's laid out enables total privacy.
NOTE: Please read the "House Rules" before coming up. You will need to know where to park, etc. Once booking is confirmed you will have access to DIRECTIONS as well. There will be a printed copy of the guidebook with trail maps, local spots and house rules in the cabin. :)
This is one of the most beautiful destinations in California. The magical Sequoia National Park is pristine yet not overrun with people like some other areas. King's Canyon is simply breathtaking as well. You will truly get a unique mountain experience here with the many wonderful trails and vistas to explore. After all, that's why we moved here! :)
3.5 hours by car from LA, 4.5 to 5 hours from SF—leave at 8 or 9am from LA and you'll be here for lunch. You'll definitely need a car. Once in the park, you can walk miles of trails to your heart's content. There is a seasonal park shuttle starting in MAY you can take once here as well.
Other Things to Note
NO PETS or ADDITIONAL PEOPLE. The cabin only fits 2.
I will email the cabin info and directions to the email you have on file with AirBNB. Please print out the direction page for the drive here.
Be ready to chillax! :)
This is a no fire zone under current California drought conditions. NO SMOKING, BBQ or propane. Thanks for your understanding.
Jana was wonderful, very flexible with our changing check in times. She greeted us when we arrived, and she was so friendly and helpful. There was informative paperwork about the park and surrounding area in the room such as places to eat and best hikes, etc. She also provided muffins, snacks, and drinks (including beer), which helped us save a bit of money on food. That was great for us budget travelers! There was good coffee, and the place was clean and well decorated. Her dogs are very friendly dogs. She obviously takes pride in this listing. We were not sure what to expect, but she made sure that our first ever Airbnb experience was wonderful!
Wow what a great experience. The cabin was clean and cute. We enjoyed our time there very much. The private swimming hole is a must. Also Jana was super helpful when it came to were to eat, we also didn't realize that Verizon doesn't have a tower there so our cellphones couldn't call out but Jana let us use her landland to call home. The gate to the park is so close.
Fantastic location, so near to the gates to Sequoia which is the best park to see wild life. We saw 8 bears and 4 including 2 Cubs were less than 30 foot away. The deck, coffee maker, microwave and especially the fridge were so good to have as were the tasty goodies Jana left for us. Jana is a great host. We had no problem with the access potholes in drive mentioned by previous guest had been filled in.
Jana's cottage is the perfect mountain getaway. Jana and Kinsey, Seamus and Joey (the dogs), are all super friendly and welcoming. The cottage is well-appointed, very comfortable and cozy. The view of the mountains and river below is breath-taking. At night, the view of the stars is incredible. The location is perfect- only 2 minute drive from sequoia national park entrance and a very short drive to several restaurants. Jana's directions to the property are very detailed and easy to follow. Unfortunately due to some car trouble, we had to cut our trip a day short. Jana and Kinsey were so understanding and helpful. We can't wait to stay here again. We highly recommend it!
Place was exactly as described, and we loved it. Very comfortable, very clean. The outside deck was so nice to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening or a cup of coffee watching the sun come up in the morning. For us it was the perfect place to stay while visiting Sequoia.
My girlfriend and I had a great stay in Three Rivers at Jana's cabin. It's a wonderful place, with beautiful view of the mountains from the cabin and the large deck.
When we arrived the cabin was well stocked with goodies. The place was also very clean and you have a lot of privacy.
The location is very good for visiting the Sequoia National Park, and I would highly recommend it.
2-3 minutes to Sequioa Park entrance. Good restaurant 2 minutes away. Also meals in the park are reasonable-I paid $4 for breakfast. Wonderful views from large deck. Jana left us nice treats including wonderful muffins. Opened all the windows and really enjoyed sleeping with the mountain breeze coming in. Highly recommend this cabin.

About the Host, Jana
Kinsey & I are creative types that live between the kinetic energy of LA and the invigorating & peaceful energy of the mountains. For us, it's the perfect juxtaposition. We've done quite a bit of traveling and are lucky to have friends from all over the world. We've been in Three Rivers for 5 years and are having a blast sharing our piece of paradise with new acquaintances.
“Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out that going to the mountains is going home; that wildness is a necessity; and that mountain parks and reservations are useful not only as fountains of timber and irrigating rivers, but as fountains of life.” - John Muir
