Enjoy a lovely sea view conveniently located only one and a half miles from Dingle. Take a three minute walk to a local beach and come back to enjoy a cup of tea on the patio or relax by the fire. One king bed in the main area and two single beds in a small low ceiling loft with steep stairs. There is a full kitchen open to the sleeping area.

The space

The studio has a lovely view from the kitchenette table of the sea and out to Skellig Michael. There is a king size comfortable bed and there are steep loft stairs to two single beds. The loft has a railing and is open to the room below and has a low ceiling. No small children under 5 please.

Guest access

Guests have their own private entry and use of the patio with table and chairs.
Things to do right from Beenbawn Cottage;
Stroll 3 minutes to beautiful Beenbawn Strand at the cove where “Fungie,” our resident dolphin, frolics daily. Howls of delight from Fungie watchers on boats will alert you to his activities.
Have a swim in the clear cool water or borrow some fishing tackle and try your hand at catching dinner.
A 30-meter pre-Christian ringfort is about a five-minute walk from the cottage off the boreen to Doonsean (Dún Síon). This national historic site has Ogham writing on lapidated oval stones from the storm beach at Minard. I will give you more historical information and directions once you are here.
Pack a picnic lunch and wander up to the top of Beenbawn head. Walk safely along the cliffs to the stone cairn at the peak for breath-taking views of Dingle Bay and passing fishing and sail boats. You can see across to the Beara Peninsula, Skellig Michael, and Valentia Island where the first transatlantic cable linked Europe to America. To the west is Eask Tower marking the entrance to Dingle Harbour.

Interaction with guests

I live on site in the attached bungalow. I am available for any visitor information that you may require and have many suggestions for interesting off the beaten path adventures. Beenbawn is so beautiful I want to share it. I have a horse drawn carriage business that guests can get a discount on when you book.

Other things to note

I have a friendly dog and one outside cat. I'm open to people bringing their dog on holiday as long as it is kept on lead if it chases cats or livestock. If you leave the dog in the studio while you go out no barkers please. I have a horse that I occasionally keep next to the house if I'm going to ride or drive her the next day. Please don't feed her without asking. You can get a discount with the horse drawn carriage business I own. The horse and carriage is in the driveway sometimes.

The loft stairs are steep so no small children please as I don't want them falling. Non crawling babies or kids 5 and up are fine. I work in the mornings so please be considerate of late night noise. Have fun and bring a happy attitude. If you bring your dog it must be pre approved by me. Please do not feed the horse (Molly) or enter her field unless you ask. It keeps everybody safe, especially her. Also do not let the cat in. Lots of people are allergic so don't contaminate the rental please. Beanie is very loved and well looked after and would be happy to be rubbed when he is outside. The Wi-Fi is data limited so please do not stream videos or download movies. Smoking is only allowed outside.

Pet(s) live on property - One horse, one dog and one cat. All very friendly.

Maureen's place is perfect. She was super accommodating about check in and great at staying in touch. The walk down to the beach is SPECTACULAR and dramatic! I only wish we had better weather for the trip (we were there right in front of a hurricane!) but, we definitely plan to come back one day when the sun is shining.

What a lovely spot! Maureen was a wonderful hostess, helping us check in (despite our rather late arrival), offering exceptional food, pub, and music recommendations (listen to her on that one - everything she suggested to us was PERFECT!), and was always quick to respond to any questions. The room was exceptionally clean and she even went so far as to add thoughtful touches such as fresh fruit, juice, coffee and even a quiche in the freezer (although we didn't end up eating that since we had so much food leftovers). With the fridge in the room and the good weather, it was perfect to grab a pint from the store and sit outside at the cottage, take in the fresh sea air and chat.

This was a lovely introduction to AirBnB! Maureen was a perfect host! She was there when we checked in, recommended excellent local spots for trad music, had homemade jam, butter, tea, and milk in the kitchen for us! I would definitely stay there again if we ever get to go back to Ireland! Truly a delightful experience by the Dingle oceanside! We loved getting to walk to the beach and take in the bay and the cliffs!

Highly recommend Maureen’s place! She was so generous with local recommendations and had such great hospitality with personal touches. We were so comfortable staying here, this location was our favorite of the 5 homes we stayed in during our trip! Great kickoff location for driving the peninsula, and very close to food and music downtown!

The home was just as advertised. Roomy, clean, nicely decorated and stocked with enough food to get us started. The view was very beautiful. We got some nice sun rises and sun sets by walking about the nearby cliffs. Maureen will help with anything you need. She will also give you complete privacy as you desire. She did not have the power over the wind but everything we requested she promptly provided. I recommend Beenbawn to anyone looking for a peaceful setting. For the musical fans the Irish music at the local pubs was fantastic.

Maureen and her Beenbawn cottage represent everything one hopes for when booking through Airbnb. A change in our travel plans reduced our stay with her to just one night, but in that time, thanks to Maureen's guidance, we were able to see and experience some of the very best things that Dingle has to offer--wonderful traditional Irish music, incredible food (including the freshest fish and chips we've ever had), and an unforgettable and exhilarating hike along the cliffs in the wind and the rain which ended in a pub in Dingle where we dried out and warmed up thanks to a couple of Irish coffees and some hot chowder. Maureen has thought of everything to make sure her guests want for nothing--the cottage is clean and cozy, the kitchen is cute and complete, the bed is warm and comfortable, and when we arrived we found the kitchen stocked with fruit, coffee, milk, butter and other treats and essentials for our stay. Maureen herself is a perfect host--generous, warm, friendly and extremely helpful but in no way imposing. She made sure we had everything we needed and then left us to enjoy our time together. It was the PERFECT ending to our week in Ireland!

Maureen’s place is wonderful! It felt like an oasis in the midst of my travels, which was just what I needed at that point. The cottage itself is a delight. It is fresh and bright and clean and is beautifully appointed with everything you need to take a breather from your touring, or to have as a super comfortable base for your adventuring. The proximity to the beach is a real plus. You’re bound to meet a cow or a horse or a task-oriented border collie on the way to the shore! Maureen herself is a font of local knowledge and really sharp about knowing what a guest might require. She pointed me to some restaurants and sights that became the highlights of my trip. It sounds hokey, but she exudes warmth and hospitality. Don’t miss this place as you travel!

Maureen User ProfileMaureen is a superhost.

I love to share interesting tips about Dingle and can give you lots of foodie recommendations as well as local activities. I have a dog named Teddy that welcomes everyone and one horse named Molly as well as an outdoor cat named Beanie. I have lived in the states and have travelled extensively. I like to explore diverse cultures and places as well as enjoy being in nature. I am a relaxed host but I like things neat and clean.
