Please have a look at this link if you need to know why you just absolutely MUST come and visit us in Bournemouth!
I love Boscombe Spa Village, it used to be a Victorian Spa Bath and people used to take the sea water for good health! A quiet area away from town centre, right on the clifftops - it doesn't get nearer the sea than this! And lots of classy restaurants on and near the beach, and a vast selection of bars, pubs, eateries just 5mins walk into bohemian Boscombe town centre. We ve lived here for 10 years and love it!
All main buses go from Boscombe Bus Station 5 mins walk away. Route 41 is just 10 seconds from our house, and does an open top bus route around Bournemouth!
Other Things to Note
All prices quoted INCLUDE our veggie continental-style breakfast! We are a vegan-friendly household! And a non-smoking, no alcohol/drugs household above and beyond; we also pride ourselves in talking about and practicing good nutrition - it's important to us that we provide an excellent drinking water quality through a filter system free of charge, massive fresh organic juices or raw chocolate superfood shakes (on prior request @ £4 each - please order in advance and choose from a variety of ingredients - apple, orange, carrot, ginger, lemon, wheatgrass shots, spinach, kale, beets can all be provided for a beautiful breakfast juice if you want an alternative breakfast!) You DON'T have to be veggie to stay with us and of course are welcome to choose from the many non-veg restaurants in the area, but we ask that our guests kindly respect the veggie rule when in our home. We invite people from all over the world with open arms! Children and families are very welcome, we can provide a child's Peppa Pig bed in the room at no extra charge. Parking is also available on our drive, free of charge - a must in the summer when parking is nigh impossible near the beach but you must let us know your parking requirements in advance and we are sorry but we cannot always guarantee a space especially at busy times in the high season. Any questions please ask!
Please read through our whole profile on a large computer screen as smartphone apps do not always show everything you need to know about your stay. Generally, people use common sense when they stay at someone's home. For the few occasions where you may not know what to expect, here are some guidelines to what you must be aware of when booking with us:
Please read through Airbnb terms & conditions of booking before you reserve your room. The airbnb community is a friendly and wonderful way to make new acquaintances and we believe it's natural to expect our guests to be polite and friendly when coming to stay at our home. The room(s) you are renting is/are part of our precious beautiful large friendly happy clean tidy warm and welcoming seafront family home. You need to be aware that most properties on airbnb are not hotels or B&B’s, but people’s homes which you are visiting. At our home, our own daughter and visiting children may be present and children are very welcome. You are renting a room in a large property where other guests may likely also be staying at the same time as you. Mostly, our home is incredibly quiet at night, as we think it's only fair to other guests to keep noise down after 10pm and before 8am, so that guests generally sleep really well as there is little noise or traffic. For example, we are a vegan/ vegetarian/no alcohol/no smoking, non-partying mindful household and we apologise but after some experience we decided we will not allow alcoholic drinks or food in our bedrooms. Our cancellation modus is set to moderate, this means that if you cancel less than 5 days inc before your arrival date, you are not eligible for a refund. On or a few days before your arrival day, you will need to let us know your ARRIVAL TIME and also any last minute changes via text message or call so we can be at home to accommodate you. Since we don’t operate like a hotel, for various reasons you will not be able to turn up randomly. If you don’t have a set arrival time or have arranged to pick up a key with us in advance, you may not be able to get in and we want to avoid you losing some of your holiday time.
If you are booking one of our rooms that sleeps 4, please make sure that the sleeping arrangements within your group are discussed with us beforehand, i.e. you need to disclose who is in your party well in advance so we can prepare the rooms accordingly. This is to figure out who sleeps where as we have two comfy double pull out beds in the Garden Room and in the Sea View room there is a full King size bed and a double pull out chaise similar to a futon. An extra single bed or toddler bed can be added to either room if needed and available, but you must please ask before you arrive and state how many people in your party/what ages. We may not be able to accommodate you on your arrival if this is not clearly discussed beforehand! Also, we serve a veggie breakfast. Guests say it’s an amazing spread and also amazing that we do go through such lengths as we've heard that lots of hosts don't even bother. You can supplement it with your own veggie items if you wish, but if for some reason our breakfast doesn’t suit you, then please let us know in advance if you prefer to eat breakfast elsewhere. Some food allergies we would consider catering for, i.e. lactose intolerant, gluten-free, yeast or sugar free etc within reason, but you must tell us and ask in advance and before your arrival if you don’t want to miss out.
Last but not least, we do have two lovely friendly cats. If you are allergic, please provide your own antihistamine although we do keep some just in case. I am allergic myself so hyper aware of their presence so we keep our house ultra clean and they are not allowed in the bedrooms when there are guests staying even though they might try to sneak in, they are clever after all! If you enjoy the presence of 2 gorgeous friendly cats in a house, this is the place for you! If you really don't like cats at all, please consider whether booking a different home to stay in might not be a better solution for you as they stay in the kitchen and garden and this is their home, too.
Don't worry too much though, you will love it here as all the comments of previous guests show! Many thanks for reading this and please excuse the slightly serious tone of this narrative, which has become necessary due to the amount and variety of guests we host. We do enjoy hosting and very much look forward to meeting you!
Martha and I enjoyed our stay at Uli's place very much. She is a very nice and friendly person and the room we stayed in had a fabulous view. We stayed for four nights and can recommend it warmly. Just five minutes to the seaside. Nice walks starting right next to the house. Nice breakfast, too.
This is an ideal Airbnb experience!!! What Airbnb is all about! A home owner offering to share her house. Not random people making a business... Uli is so inviting, warm, gracious and hospitable! Her house is beautiful, clean and ideally located. Our bedroom had views of the ocean!!!
Uli made us feel welcome and the views from the room were fantastic. She showed us how things worked, made us a cup of tea and left us to enjoy the room.
Our children played withe other children in her garden and we had a good breakfast of croissants, cereals and toast. As Uli is vegan she uses soya milk which i found fine on cereal but you can take your own milk if you wish.
The house was situated in a great location and amazing sea views from the room. The room was large and very clean. You can also walk along the seafront to reach Bournemouth town centre within 30 minutes. We ate at the Urban Reef restaurant minutes from Uli’s house and it was lovely.
Would highly recommend. The only thing is we struggled to work out the very fancy shower!
It was great to meet Uli and stay in her lovely house.
I was mainly in town to meet people and was keeping different hours so didn't see much of her but we did manage a couple of chats.
The room is very comfortable and has a view out to the sea - good for the sunny days I stayed.
Breakfast was also very good - recommended.
Uli was very welcoming and friendly. The room was big with breathtaking views of the sea. An excellent stay
In our 4 day visit of Bournemouth, we have had a wonderful time in Uli's house. The seaview from the bedroom (and from the garden) is indeed beautiful. The beach is less than 2 minutes walk from the house. Also the Kings Park is nearby.
Our welcome by Uli and her lovely daughter was more than warm. (Our daughter has made friends tor her directly).
The bedroom is large and cosy and the bathroom is OK. The breakfast is great and the kitchen is well equipped. We have made dinner ourselves 2 times and were allowed to use the pans etc.
Uli's house is a real good base for making trips by foot, bike (bike rent is nearby) or car. Bournemouth is a nice city and the surroundings are very beautiful!
