Cheap, good internet, and a very close bus stop.
The house is cluttered and insects (spiders, flys, moths, etc..) were everywhere. The home is shared by up to 5 people at a time, and no one cleans. The kitchen was the worst with long ago abandoned/expired food left to rot, stove tops that wouldn't heat, and very little shelf or counter top space.
The water pressure in the shower was minimal, and again, many left behind items in the bath.
Maintaining a comfortable temperature was an issue, as the upstairs rooms were overheated at night.
It is not the worst place I've ever stayed, but I felt a bit mislead when I got there.
Great place to stay at, nice community. Place was clean, host was very helpful with navigating the area locally. thanks Julie for everything!
While staying with Julie, I got the sense that I was at home. She never bothered me, or pestered me about petty things. No house meetings, no checking in. Julie has her own life, and she completely allowed me, and the other guests, to live our own lives, as well.
Finally, the rooms appear EXACTLY as depicted on the website. They are pristine, and each of them quite large for their purposes.
One day I commented on being cold, and considering purchasing a Space Heater or extra Comforters, and Julie promptly provided her own Space Heater AND an Electric Blanket.
Julie Mikalson has been the most accommodating, and considerate Landlord I have ever had. I give Julie, and her Home in Northeast Portland, my Highest Recommendation.
A big Thank-You to Julie for allowing me to stay for the month!
What a Great Experience!

Great place! The host was very friendly and knowlegable about the area. I would recommend this place to anyone coming to visit.
julie is a gracious person who likes mam.she loves plants and give me the way to rethink the relationship both the human being and the environment.i hope she can keep enjoy her life for retirement!
The room was nice and cozy, with an electric blanket to keep us warm. Julie was kind enough to pick my husband and I up at the airport when we got here around midnight. The other guests were nice, and everyone pretty much kept quietly to themselves. There was an awesome piano I could play in the living room and an abundance of Tazo tea that was available for guests.
It was a pleasant experience and I would highly recommend any of Julie's rooms.
Julie was an excellent host! The bedroom was cozy and spacious. The walk in closet had ample room for all our needs. I could easily see a single person staying there long term quite comfortably. Julie was kind enough to work with us on our tricky waiting-for-housing situation, which was the main draw of Airbnb for this particular trip. This was our first time using Airbnb and I will certainly be using it again.
