The Space

Hello AirBNB! I live in a one bedroom one bath 892 square foot apartment in an area of downtown Austin called the Warehouse District - less than a mile from the Austin Convention Center, a couple hundred yards from the river, or as Austin calls it "Town Lake", a nice walk to Zilker Park (perfect distance from the ACL Music Festival), a third of a mile from Formula 1 shuttles and Fan Fest after parties, close but not too close for UT Football games and above all quiet enough to get a good night's sleep. It's half a block away from the flagship Whole Foods store if you're feeling healthy or a short stroll to a large number of great restaurants and bars if you'd prefer to indulge. Nearly everything is within walking distance, or at most a short bike ride (NEW: two vintage bicycles, a street bike and a beach cruiser, available for your use).

The apartment complex features a swimming pool, a fitness center and a rooftop deck. There is a washer and dryer in the apartment that you are welcome to use too! I have wireless internet, a lot of power outlets and great cell phone reception. The apartment has a king size bed, a couch and a newly added air mattress available upon request for parties more than 3.

My first experience in Austin before I moved here was for SXSW and most of the places I went to were within walking distance of this apartment so I decided living in this area would be great!

Note there are no dogs that live here everyday but my boyfriend has boxers that come by on rare occasions. They will never be left behind when you visit of course, but you may see a dog bed stored under your human bed. Boxers have hair and not fur thus they create less allergens than your average dog.

What is the Warehouse District you ask? The Warehouse district, just west of the central business district, is the upscale cousin to 6th street. A bit trendier and certainly more pricey, it caters to a slightly older crowd than the other downtown entertainment areas. True to its name, the restaurants and clubs in this district have been renovated from former warehouses into trendy restaurants, top-notch concert halls, and distinctive bars. Live music is everywhere in the Warehouse District and great restaurants are easy to find.

  • Jenn's place was perfect for our short, but busy stay in Austin. Central to everything, walked to downtown, and easy to call a cab, etc. The apt was clean/cozy and Jenn was very accommodating as a host. Will definitely recommend her place to friends/family and any other Airbnb guests looking for a great stay.

  • Jenn's apartment was perfect for our trip to Austin. The location is amazing - easy walking distance to a number of restaurants, bars, shops, etc. We were also pleasantly surprised by the size of the apartment - really spacious for a 1 bedroom and we had no problem accommodating 4 people. The apartment complex is really nice as well, with a nice pool/courtyard area and roof deck.

Jenn was really responsive and easy to communicate with, and was great about providing recommendations for things to do, restaurants to try, and areas of the city to explore. I would absolutely stay here again, and highly recommend it for anyone visiting Austin!

  • Jennifer was a wonderful host. Her apartment is nicely appointed and very close to Austin nightlife. She provided us with various guides and recommendations. I would definitely stay in her apartment again.

  • Jenn was just great, we were immensely appreciative of how accommodating she was, especially on short notice. The place was perfect, very clean and spacious. Sleeping four people was a breeze, love that couch! Jenn's recommendations were spot on too. I will dream about Lambert's short rib for awhile and Rainey Street was such a blast. Can't think of a single way it could have gone smoother, thank you Jenn!

  • This was my first Airbnb experience. I was a little apprehensive but after receiving a great initial response from Jennifer I was more confident that the decision to use this service would turn out fine.

The apartment was everything described. Jennifer communicated promptly throughout our stay. Other than my overlooking the parking details, which was no fault of Jennifer's, and rental car being towed, our stay in Austin was fabulous and we felt right at home.

    Response from Jennifer:

I'm so sorry to hear about your rental car incident! Based on our transportation conversations I didn't think you were going to rent a car or I would have left you specific details in advance. I'm happy to hear everything else was delightful, thank you for staying!

  • Jenn was very accommodating. She met me at our office to drop off the keys and came back to pick them up again on my last day in Austin. She left tons of recs on the counter for bars, restaurants, sites, etc...Apartment is spacious and cozy.

  • This place is a perfect location if you're looking to stay downtown. You can walk to everything and Whole Foods is right around the corner. Also the food truck Luckys is nearby which probably has the best sandwiches in Austin.

I would definitely stay here again. If only it wasn't so cold we could have used the pool.

    November 2013
  • Jennifer's place was great and exactly as advertised. Location was awesome - within walking to the best spots.

Jennifer was very easy to communicate with.

  • We had a great time in Austin, and staying at Jennifer's apartment definitely contributed to that!

Close to all kinds of nice bars and restaurants, close to the park for your morning run, easy to reach by car and no problems with parking. The place is nicely furnished, with an insanely huge bed and properly working air-conditioning. Her apartment has lots of nice pictures and personal stuff, making you feel right at home, which for me is the reason you turn to airbnb and not to expedia.

Jennifer is very friendly and flexible, and we can definitely recommend staying there!
