My sister and I had a really great experience staying at Emmanuel's place. It was lovely, clean and had everything we needed to make our stay quite comfortable (wifi, air conditioning, etc). The location couldn't have been better: it's situated in a quiet neighbourhood with many delicious and affordable restaurants and cafes in nearby. It's also just a short walk away from a beautiful open air market. Emmanuel was a great host. He was quick to respond and made both arriving and heading out smooth, quick and easy. We would definitely stay here again.
Emmanuel's place was great! Nice location - 5 minute walk to our office as well as lots of restaurants and bars in close proximity as well. He was easy to get in touch with and quick to answer any questions we had.
It was our first stay in Montreal and this was the perfect spot to get to know the city-life. Little Italy is a great neighborhood and a great place for food-lovers. Emmanuels appartment looked a bit messy, but had everything we needed and we loved the big table in the kitchen! Emmanuel was easy to communicate with and flexible. We would stay here the next time!
The magic space is awesome! My friend and I were in town for the Osheaga music festival, and were seeking a refuge at the end of every day. We were delighted to get back "home" each night. The location is in easy walking distance to one of the best farmer's markets in the world (Jean-Talon). There are also Italian markets and cafes less than a block away with fantastic fresh rolled pastas, sauces, and morning coffees. The kitchen is well-equipped. The stereo: superb! Emmanuel welcomed us warmly into the quiet and cool neighborhood. He is pretty awesome and has great taste! He knows where you want to go. :-) Like others have mentioned, his communication and quick response helped a lot, and it looked like there are a lot of great restaurants all around, but my friend and I did not have enough time to really do anything more than dance and have a great time!!
Emmanuel was very quick to respond to my emails. Thankfully, despite our late arrival (crossing the border by car can take a while!), he greeted us very kindly. We didn't need to speak to him again until making arrangements by text the evening before our departure. Our interactions were brief, but pleasant.
As for the apartment itself, it's a charming two bedroom -- we only used the primary one. All the amenities, except cable TV, but who cares. The bedroom does get a lot of light in the morning so if you need it to be dark while sleeping, I recommend a sleep mask or hiding under the covers. It is quiet for the most part, but the bedroom overlooks an alley behind a restaurant, so we could hear workers on their smoke breaks or glass being recycled in the morning. The sound of the A/C unit drowned out any noise for the most part. The apartment was clean and perfect for our short vacation purpose -- we really didn't use it for more than sleeping/showering. Do note that it is on the 2nd floor of a walkup.
Ten minute walk or less to a few metro stations, bus lines and taxi stand. Parking our car on the street was very easy too as long as you paid attention to the regulations. Neighborhood felt very safe -- reminded me a lot of Brooklyn, and we can recommend it just for being so close to Caffe San Simeon and Marche Jean Talon.
If we do another Montreal adventure, I will definitely contact Emmanuel again.
Emanuel was a gracious and friendly host and we greatly enjoys his modern apartment in little Italy . The neighborhood had many great cafes and restaurants nearby and we loved exploring wonderful Montreal during jazziest. We would highly recommend his place to others and works be excited to return the next time we return to Montreal.
Emmanuel is a fantastic host. Communication was superb from the get-go and his place is conveniently located amidst the best Pizzerias and Cafes in Little Italy. His place was in tip-top condition when we arrived, all necessities were provided. Recommended!
My travel companion and I had a great time staying in this apartment. When we first arrived, Emmanuel was there waiting for us (even though we got lost and ended up showing up later than we'd anticipated). He showed us around and offered us a drink. Everything in the apartment was great, and made us both feel quite at home. The location was excellent for my tastes, and the neighborhood was pretty quiet throughout our stay. We had a great time and would stay here again if ever in the area.
