  • A peaceful, safe haven about a 10 minute walk southeast of the zocalo, this is a great place to stay. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I really enjoyed my private room and sitting out on the balcony above the inner courtyard. It's great that they have bikes to rent too !

  • Azul Cielo was fabulous for me! I was alone and stayed one month and had a lovely private room. The staff was so kind and thoughtful to me. We had a very solid breakfast with fruit, cereals, toast, jams, etc. Each day the staff would cook something special like pancakes, quesadillas. I loved how cheerful it was and so safe--even left my door open all the time, sat out on the balcony in comfy sofas. A place to do laundry, although the inexpensive launderia is 3 doors down. Had some clothes made by the tailor next door too! It was great to have wifi and also use the house computer. I love to cook, so having a kitchen, stove and refrig. for guests was an asset for me. Across the street is the local bus to get to all the markets. It was a great location and rather quiet...super nice place to chill as well.. The staff helped me learn all about Oaxaca, booked tours, book my language class, called taxis---just so thoughtful. The ages of people are mostly young, but throughout the month there were some older couples as well. Sometimes we had movies which was fun. It felt like community yet I also felt comfortable being alone. I just had a great time there and would highly recommend Azul to others. Enjoy!

  • This was a lovely little oasis in the heart of Oaxaca. Super friendly and very beautiful. Peaceful from the hustle of the city. Great walking distance to the centro. I highly recommend for single travelers or couples.

  • Good location, great staff and fellow travelers, safe, clean and comfortable. We had good internet and a big screen TV to watch the Olympics! And the Sunday night free movie in the courtyard was an added bonus. We were in a room that faced the street and because we are early risers, didn't mind the noise from the early morning traffic. If you want to sleep in, request a room in the back.

  • We had a great time at Casa Cielo Azul! Friendly staff and great people staying there. It's walkable to just about anything you want to do in Oaxaca and a cheap taxi if you don't feel like walking. We met a lot of other travelers and shared some good times out on the town as well as in the courtyard. It's definitely more of a hostel type setting than a B&B, but I do highly recommend it.

  • Some good and some "could be better"!

The place is not a B&B but a hostel. Lot of people coming in/out. Noise late at night so if your looking for a quit place this not it.
    Kitchen looked dirty.

The good things; the room we had was clean and had nice decorations. Was cleaned every day and had hot water!
Parking was no problem and close to the city!

We lost our key of the car and the staff & neighbors where really friendly and helpful!

  • Cosas positivas y negativas:

    SALUDOS

  • As a large family of 9, House blue sky was a great place to stay. Helena and staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms (4) were spacious and clean. Location is great just a short troll to the center of the old city which is beautiful. Oaxaca is a safe and friendly place to stay and we felt welcomed as guest to the city.
If I was to be highly critical, there could be some areas where the owners could spend more money on amenities re upgrade of the kitchen area (which was also used by the dorm style accommodation guests) and some furniture on the balcony area where our rooms were situated. Little things that matter in a competitive market.
Also we were without hot water for one night - as there was no gas for heating.

  • I stayed here for six nights in two rooms with my Mexican girlfriend and her two sons. It was ideal. It was great to have the garden, kitchen and living room (with TV and DVD) as extra areas to live in. Having the kitchen and all necessary cooking equipment, plates, cutlery etc was a big plus as we could cook for ourselves. The young staff were all very friendly and helpful. I could see the place worked well as both a hostal for back packers in dormitories and a hotel for families like us. It is also walking distance to all major sights in the Center but far enough out of the tourist areas to be quiet at night.
