Situated just one mile outside of Kinsale, Castlecove House is nesteled in a seculuded cove under the ruin of De Coursey Castle . The spacious and comfortable double bedroom with bathroom and walk-in wardrobe is on the ground floor.
Loved my stay at such a quiet place near Kinsale. Louise was a great host, which made my starts of the day wonderful with amazing breakfasts. She is a very inspiring person and it was a pleasure being around her.
Louise could not have made us feel more welcome or comfortable. Her accomodations were among the best we had in our 2 weeks In Ireland, with lots of room, a private bathroom and lovely view of the river. Her breakfasts were delicious and just what we wanted - fruit, juice, cereal and fresh baked bread, jam, butter, coffee, tea, etc. Louise went out of her way to facilitate our travel back and forth to center of town - just a mile away. The accomodation might be best for those with a car, though we caught a taxi at night easily enough, only 5 minutes and 7 euro from town. We really enjoyed our stay with Louise and recommend her enthusiatically. As a bonus, you get to see her lovely art work in her house and studio!
Louise welcomed us like long time friends. She made us feel at home immediately. We had our own room with an Ensuite bathroom. The bed was super comfortable, maybe the best I've ever slept on. Breakfast was fresh baked soda bread with butter and jams. We also tried black pudding with stewed apples. What a treat!
We loved our time in Kinsale and Louise was a huge part of making it so enjoyable.
We forgot our camera at castle cove house and Louise found a way to get it delivered to our next B&B before we moved on in our trip.
Louise met us in town and guided us to her home which is in a beautiful location by the river. Our en-suite room was very comfortable and the location peaceful.
Louise was able to provide information about where to go and what to do and in our last day, made us soda bread to take on our travels because we left quite early.
We recommend Louise's home as a lovely place to stay.
The host Louise was most welcoming but we were underwhelmed by the property, the decor and general cleanliness of Castlecove. It was difficult to find but once we had established how to find the house we drove in and back out as we were convinced the property was not lived in. We did return and met with Louise but overall the room and the bathroom needed significant upgrade. I was travelling with my Son and had to find an alternative. Very disappointed overall.
Louise was very welcoming and kind. The room was clean and linens fresh. We didn't spend much time there, we walked into Kinsale to meet friends and returned quite late. Louise was quick to offer tea/coffee, soda bread, and cereal for breakfast.
My kids, my wife and I stayed with Louise for two nights. Louise was a fantastic host, right from the start we felt like we were staying with friends. Louise gave us lots of advice on where to visit and what to see and do. We had a great little break and really enjoyed Kinsale and the surrounding areas. I'd recommend staying with Louise in her unique house if you are going to Kinsale.
